Chapter 1445: Chapter 1445: The White Pill in Hand
Lilac Serval’s eyes held a dim glimmer, and when she spoke of these things, her face always carried a hint of melancholy.
Jasmine Yale didn’t know what she had been through; she always felt that someone as young as Lilac Serval shouldn’t have lived like this.
Charles Mcintosh was very good to Lilac Serval, didn’t he want to give her a home?
Or is it that Lilac Serval didn’t like Charles Mcintosh?
“The elder’s gotten older and isn’t as strict as he was when he was young. He’s always cheerful and speaks gently every time he sees Chale Cheney, a far cry from the fierce man he used to be.” Lilac Serval couldn’t help but laugh as she spoke of this.
“Given the chance, I’d like to pay a visit to the elder.”
“There will be a chance, go with Mr. Cheney. He always talks about Mr. Cheney, after all, he’s the most proud of his disciples.” Lilac Serval ate a segment of orange, “Of course, amongst his female disciples, I am the one he’s most proud of.”
Jasmine Yale smiled.
Lilac Serval knew what she wanted to hear and thus shared stories from Sylvan Cheney’s childhood.
For instance, when other children were brought over, they would either cry or fuss, or try to find a way to escape, but only Sylvan was calm, even proactively asking to train with his master.
For instance, when he was injured, he never furrowed his brow even though he was just a child under ten years old.
“Hard to imagine, right? But that’s actually how Mr. Cheney came to be; he grew up without a father, and his mother wasn’t around much either, pretty much like me.”
Jasmine Yale knew that Sylvan Cheney had a cold temperament.
Probably because he lacked the warmth of family affection since childhood.
His world lacked any sunshine, especially in the year he turned fourteen, it was like being in an ice cellar.
Lilac Serval talked with Jasmine Yale for a while.
Lilac Serval was not usually talkative, but when it came to the past, words just seemed to flow, and there was always a sparkling glow in her eyes.
Jasmine Yale ate the oranges while listening to her.
Suddenly, she felt a pang of sympathy for Sylvan Cheney.
“Jasmine, do you know what this is?” Lilac Serval suddenly pulled out a white pill from her pocket.
Jasmine Yale felt a sudden panic in her chest: “What is it?”
“Don’t be nervous.” Lilac Serval smiled, “As kids, we would often use this pill for tricks; having taken it, you could sleep for three straight days and nights. If we didn’t want to train, we’d take this. It scared the master at first, but once he figured out it was our little scheme, he gave us a good beating.”
“You still have this medicine…?”
“Ever since I was a child, I was the one who didn’t study well, I was up to no good, always messing around; I made this medicine.”
“So now…” Jasmine Yale stared at the white pill in her hand.
And now, why is she showing her this now?
Jasmine Yale’s eyes flickered with panic; she didn’t know what Lilac Serval was going to do.
Was it for her to take? And then to send her back to Cakago?
Impossible, if that were the case, she wouldn’t be showing it to her.
Then why?
Jasmine Yale looked at Lilac Serval in bewilderment.
Lilac Serval slowly took Jasmine Yale’s hand and placed the pill in her palm.
“The Cheney Family has encountered some trouble, Charles Mcintosh said you know about it. Take Mr. Cheney away for a few days, leave the rest to Charles Mcintosh and me,” Lilac Serval calmly stated, a serene smile on her plain makeup.
After giving the pill to Jasmine Yale, she herself began peeling another orange.
Her demeanor was as carefree as if mentioning something utterly trivial.
Whereas Jasmine Yale was still taken aback, clutching the pill tightly, her heart pounding a few extra beats.
She hadn’t caught up yet.
They were still talking about training, how had it suddenly…
