Chapter 301: Bai Group’s Crisis

Chapter 301: Bai Group’s Crisis

Thinking about Shen Yi and his childhood memories, Shen Huan finally said, "Alright, I will help you. But A Yi, I’m a businessman. I won’t do anything without profit."

Grinding his teeth, Shen Yi asked, "What do you want?"

A faint smile appeared on Shen Huan’s cold expression when he heard this. Gazing out at the bright morning sky through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, he calmly said, "I want thirty percent of your business shares."

"What?! Why don’t you just go rob people?!" Shen Yi exclaimed in shock.

Shen Huan’s smile deepened as he calmly said, "I’m robbing you right now."

Too furious to answer, Shen Yi could only clutch his chest in anger. After several deep breaths to calm down, he spat through clenched teeth, "Fine! Once you find Miss Bai, I will give you thirty percent shares."

"Deal." Remembering something, Shen Huan added, "I will send my lawyer over. Make sure you sign the documents. Don’t think you can lie to me. I don’t want to repeat the same mistake as when we were young."

Before Shen Yi could respond, Shen Huan ended the call.

Clutching his phone tightly, Shen Yi cursed under his breath. "Just because I stole a piece of candy from you, you still hold a grudge against me until now? Black-hearted capitalist!"

After scolding his elder brother for a few minutes, Shen Yi returned to the kitchen to finish brewing his coffee.

Meanwhile, the news of Bai Hanyun’s disappearance spread across the nation like wildfire.

Within minutes after the news report, speculation about Bai Hanyun’s disappearance and the possibility of an assassination attempt shook the Bai Group’s stock.

As the shares plummeted, Hu Chaoyang and Hou Zuquan stepped out of the elevator and headed toward the meeting room.

Handing a tablet to Hu Chaoyang, Hou Zuquan said, "CEO Hu, here is the report on Chairwoman Bai’s disappearance."

While he read the report, Hu Chaoyang asked, "Have the shareholders arrived?"

"Yes, they are already waiting in the meeting room," Hou Zuquan replied.

Hu Chaoyang returned the tablet to Hou Zuquan. As his eyes flickered coldly, he quickened his pace. At the meeting room door, he adjusted his tie and gave Hou Zuquan a nod.

Taking the cue, Hou Zuquan pushed open the double doors and stepped aside to let Hu Chaoyang in.

The heated discussion inside the meeting room cut off instantly as Hu Chaoyang entered.

As he walked to the main seat, Hu Chaoyang’s gaze swept across the room, meeting each shareholder’s eyes in turn.

Then, after Hou Zuquan pulled out his chair, Hu Chaoyang sat down and said calmly, "Gentlemen, I believe you have all heard the news."

As soon as he said this, one shareholder slammed his palm on the mahogany table and pointed at him angrily. "CEO Hu, what kind of job are you doing?! How could you let the Bai Group’s stock fall so much in less than an hour?!"

His angry shouts encourage the other shareholders. A second later, all shareholders began to shout angrily and pointed at Hu Chaoyang.

"That’s right! CEO Hu, you must take responsibility!"

"Yes, that’s right! Do you know how much money we lose in an hour?!"

"I agree with Director He. We need an explanation, CEO Hu!"

As the accusations and demands piled on, Hu Chaoyang sat in silence, his expression calm and unshaken.

Five minutes later, the angry shouting finally died down as the shareholders were tired from shouting.

Seeing this, Hu Chaoyang finally spoke, his tone still as calm as before, "Are you all finished now? If so, please have a seat. Then, we can talk."

When his calm words fell, the shareholders suddenly felt ashamed of their earlier behavior.

Coughing lightly to hide his embarrassment, one of them sat down and asked, "CEO Hu, now that the Bai Group’s stock has dropped more than 5%, how do you plan to deal with this?"

Hu Chaoyang calmly met his gaze and replied, "I have already ordered the public relations department to release an official announcement to counter the rumors and arranged for a professional rescue team to search for Chairwoman Bai."

Signaling Hou Zuquan with his eyes, Hu Chaoyang added, "The stock price should begin to recover by now."

At his words, Hou Zuquan turned on the large screen in the meeting room, which was connected to his laptop. Moments later, the screen displayed the current stock price of the Bai Group.

When the shareholders turned to look at it, they were surprised to see the Bai Group’s stock slowly climbing back up.

Catching their astonished expressions, Hu Chaoyang stood up from his chair and said, "I will handle this matter. All I ask from everyone here is not to do anything foolish, and just stay put."

Leaving those words behind, he exited the meeting room, with Hou Zuquan following close behind.

As the door closed behind them, the muffled clamor of the shareholders resumed, filled with disbelief at Hu Chaoyang’s capability.

Rolling his eyes, Hou Zuquan muttered, "Those old foxes only know how to complain and stir up trouble."

Hu Chaoyang glanced at his unhappy face and responded calmly, "There is no need to concern yourself with them. We still have a lot to do, and our top priority right now is finding Miss Bai."

As they walked toward the elevator, Hou Zuquan sighed and said, "Yinqi must be extremely anxious right now. I will call him and check how he is doing later."

"Mhm." Hu Chaoyang nodded in agreement as they stepped into the elevator.

Meanwhile, while everyone else was searching for her, Bai Hanyun had just finished her breakfast.

Rubbing her full stomach, Bai Hanyun smiled at Feng Xiyan and said, "Feng Xiyan, thank you for the meal. It was really delicious. I never expected you guys could make such delicious dishes with those simple ingredients."

Feng Xiyan, pleased to see her enjoy the food, replied with a gentle smile, "If Miss Bai likes it, Xiyan can ask the chef to prepare them again for you."

At his words, Bai Hanyun’s eyes lit up. Nodding eagerly like a chicken pecking at rice, she quickly said, "Mhm, mhm! I like them all!"

Feng Xiyan chuckled at her words and said, "Alright."

Just when he finished speaking, a gust of wind blew into the dining room.

The next second, a low and lazy voice came from Bai Hanyun’s left side, "What are you eating? It smells so good."
