Chapter 97: Lucky Me
Do we really need her? We’re already strong enough without her or any of the other bugs that you have in that pathetic group.
Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!!! I don’t need any feedback from you... You aren’t like Rika and I don’t need any damn orders from you either.
This isn’t a battle that I’ll lose.
Another set of footsteps come rushing towards me as a familiar presence makes itself known. "Your power is definitely a lot more unique than I expected." Alarion says while kneeling down.
"What’s going on Alarion?" Aria asks with worry in her voice.
He taps my shoulder as a strange sensation begins to overtake my bloodlust. Everything seems to be dying down as my vision starts to go back to normal.
"His power has a negative side effect. I’d say bloodlust is what it seems like. Luckily I’m capable of nullification, thank me later." Alarion responds while a bright white glow emits from his hand.
It was a relief that he could do some sort of nullification on me since it was getting progressively harder to control. I’ll have to talk to Rika more about this when she returns.
Lucky me. I expected Alarion to be concerned if this came out but instead he seems to be just fine. Aria was a bit worried at first from what I could hear but everything is fine.
The damage around us was definitely pretty significant... Not that we could avoid it much with someone attacking here directly like that. It makes me wonder how long it’ll be before I encounter another enemy from the tower.
It doesn’t make sense to me, why would they be out and free like this?
"I already got Ghost back to the manor so we should head back as well. The other families will be handling the cleanup." Alarion says while helping me up.
"Doesn’t this look bad?" I manage to ask while fatigue begins to hit me.
"You and Aria saved everyone so I’d say it looks good." Alarion answers without any hesitation.
I felt my other arm lift up as her warmth made itself known to me once again. "I told you we’d handle it. You had me worried for a minute there though... Jerk." Aria says while pouting.
The ability to speak was gone for right now so I just focused on the walk back to the manor. It didn’t really take long for them to get me back to the room with Lilly and Ghost.
As the door opens up I can hear both of them run over to help get me to the bed. "Always overdoing it. A real idiot." Lilly speaks up with a few tears of relief going down her cheeks.
"He’s good at that. But I knew he’d be okay." Ghost chimes in while looking closely at me.
After helping me into bed I could feel the two of them join me, but Aria was still in the room. Her presence was one I couldn’t mistake since it was powerful and kind of impossible to ignore.
"Aria you helped him in the fight right?" Lilly asks with a bit of curiosity in her voice.
"Yes, we fought against the enemy together." She answers, a bit quieter than usual.
Lilly gestures for her to come over to the bed. "For tonight you should join us for some rest." Lilly suggests to her while giving a warm smile.
I don’t think I would’ve expected Lilly to invite her to join us in the bed for the night since we haven’t really been here long. Aria is also new to the group so it is kind of baffling.
Maybe this is a way of showing her gratitude for her keeping me alive in the fight against the reaper.
It is only a guess since I’m slowly starting to doze off right now.
"Wouldn’t it be kind of weird for me to join in this?" Aria asks while her face begins to take on a shade of red.
"Just come on already." Lilly responds while waiting for her to climb in the bed.
They both made room for her to join us in the bed and honestly I couldn’t be any luckier to have three beautiful girls in bed with me right now. All of them have great... Assets.
The feeling of warmth from all of them was enough for me to drift off into a deep slumber. Our day was basically over at this point anyway with the sun already starting to go down.
"Goodnight Rokuro." They all say quietly as the room is engulfed by darkness.
This day was a lot more chaotic than I expected it to be and I don’t know what I’ll do if the bloodlust is like this every time. It seems to be getting worse with each kill I get against a human.
I still don’t understand how that asshole counts as a human... Or am I missing something with this whole thing?
Rika will have to answer some questions for me when she returns. I’ll also need to handle some nice and easy checks on Ghost since she told us about that weird chest feeling.
Aria said it could be an awakening but I don’t know if that’s the case or if she is just being optimistic about it. Cyborgs were never known for awakening during the beginning of the collapse.
In fact, most were destroyed or discarded after people started to awaken their talents, magic capabilities, or powers. It is crazy that they would waste all of those parts instead of giving them a chance.
With the last of those thoughts I drifted through the night with ease, no dark abyss, no meetings with goddesses, just sleep through the night.
I woke up to the sight of the three beautiful girls I shared a bed with last night. Everyone was still asleep besides me.
The sun was lighting up the room like usual but I still felt pretty damn exhausted.
