Chapter 96: Intense Battle against The Reaper

Chapter 96: Intense Battle against The Reaper

I can feel the pressure building up around me like back when I fought against Sylas, this definitely is a pain. It might just be better to start this fight already.

"You okay Rokuro? This pressure is kind of intense." Aria asks with a bit of concern in her voice.

"Y...Yeah. Let’s just deal with this guy already." I respond while raising my arms.

"Yes, come at me already. I’m getting bored." The Reaper says while stretching.

He levels his gun after stretching and immediately pulls the trigger. It didn’t matter that he fired the gun since I was already about to rush towards him.

A surge of power tears through me as I lunge forward, the pressure exploding outward in a wave. Everything felt like it was burning as I continue to resist against the changes that want to come out.

I can see parts of the buildings around us breaking from the wave of pressure that just went past them. Regardless I continue towards him while reeling back my fist, shifting as much power as I can control into it.

The feeling of my fist connecting with his chest was something I was already familiar with. A sharp crack broke the silence as a shockwave from the punch went past him.

Clatter!! The gun fell onto the ground and he stood there motionless for a moment.

"Bahahaha. Sorry, that punch is definitely powerful but I did get stronger too." He says after laughing, blood dripping down from his mask.

I didn’t really care about talking with the asshole since he was here to kill anyone and everyone. I just happen to be at the top of his list right now.

My body was already instinctively moving to swing at him again with both fists.

Pow!!! A ripple was all I could see in front of me as my fists met with an invisible force before me. He really was a lot stronger than when we previously fought.

"Don’t forget I’m here too Rokuro!" Aria shouts as she swings her sword down towards him.

A hiss was all I could hear, almost like the sound of rushing tides. Cold must brushes against my cheek as a glimmer of blue light goes past me.

Her presence alone tore right through the pressure that was holding me back from connecting with him. It didn’t just cut through the barrier, it went right across his chest.

Blinding me for a moment as a blue light engulfed the reaper standing before me. As it finally starts to disappear he’s now standing a couple of feet away with a trail of blood leading all the way to him.

Did her attack push him all the way over there? I didn’t even hear or see him get pushed back by the attack. I guess that blinding blue light was what pushed him away.

Blood continues to hit the ground as the man stands there staring directly at us both.

"Your family really is strong as hell." I say with a bit of shock in my voice.

She tightens the grip on her sword while keeping an eye on the man ahead. "We have to be. Otherwise people wouldn’t feel safe here in Elyndra." Aria replies with more of a serious tone to her voice.

The Reaper pulls another gun out in the distance and immediately begins firing it. Bang! Bang! Bang! Shot after shot, each one blowing right past as we both begin to dodge and weave around the bullets.

It was hard to stand still since this enemy was typically one that could utilize range with his pistol. This time around he seems to have more than one as well, or did he have two before?

"We attack together at the same time! Now!" Aria shouts as she dashes in towards him.

I rush him at the same time as her while just barely avoiding one of the bullets. I reel back my right hand once again and put as much power as I can into it as Aria swings her sword down.

The sound of rushing water is all I hear as her sword cuts through his arm, a wave of water rushing past him. Wham!!!!!!!! My gauntlet connects with his chest once again but this time it goes right through.

Whooosh!!!! A huge shockwave goes through the street as blood covers the ground around him. A giant hole was all I could see in his body where most of his chest used to be.

He let out a few brief coughs before falling back onto the ground. Thud! "To think you’d be even stronger than the first time... You’ve also upgraded companions... Hehe.." He says before letting out a weak laugh.

There was nothing else from him after that last sentence which means he was actually dead now. The finishing blow... It was dealt by me...

An intense feeling in my chest began to form, almost as if it was telling me that it wasn’t enough.

Kill. Why don’t we kill more?!?! They all deserve to die anyway!!

A voice speaking to me, but this time it wasn’t Rika. It was almost a lot like my own voice but a lot deeper with a bit of a sinister twist to it.

Everything was getting darker and darker around me as the red begins to engulf my vision.

I can’t kill anyone else here... There aren’t anymore enemies for me to kill. The only person here that was a threat is dead..

Thud! My knees buckled as I fell down, slamming my fists into the ground. Crack!

The ground cracks around where I slammed down my fists as I try to control my bloodlust. People were probably watching this right now, trying to understand what’s going on.

"Rokuro? Is everything okay?" Aria asks as she kneels down next to me.

The words won’t come out so I’m forced to try to hold myself back from swinging on her. She is the newest edition to our group so I can’t cause her any harm...
