Chapter 95: A Mess Outside
CRASH!!!!! BOOM!! I can hear something loud crash outside the manor and it sounds like it just exploded as well.
"Sounds like we are cutting this conversation short for the time being." Aria says before making a run for a door across the courtyard.
"We should go with her as well Ghost." I suggest before beginning to follow after her.
Usually when that kind of sound is heard... it isn’t good. I’ll assume that there’s a possibility of fighting something or someone outside the manor.
Though I didn’t think it was possible for something like this to happen up here in Elyndra. They have very powerful hunters who reside up here so it made a lot of sense why the monster counts were low.
"Come on!" Aria shouts as she holds the door open for us.
We run through the door and as we reach the outside of the manor something is standing in the middle of the streets. Well, standing in a small crater.
It looks a lot like the guy from the tower that I fought against with Velia. Now that the smoke cleared a bit, his mask was exactly the same as the guy from the tower.
He was holding a pistol in his hand as well... How the hell did this guy appear here all of a sudden?
"Lovely to get an opportunity to fight against you again Rokuro." He says with a bit of excitement in his voice.
That skull mask of his, the excitement, gun, and even all black clothes. Yeah I can’t afford to mess around with this guy.
I’ve gotten a lot stronger since I fought him the first time so this shouldn’t be as bad as it was before. I did kill him last time but it took a lot out of me to do so.
He’ll definitely kill ghost without any sort of issue... I don’t know about Aria but who’s to say if her brothers will participate or any of the other hunters.
"You died. How the hell are you back?!?" I ask while beginning to grit my teeth.
He toys with people and I hate everything about him. I don’t need to know his name or what his plans are because he’s a piece of shit regardless.
He twirls his pistol around for a moment as the red eyes gaze at the girls next to me. "The green haired girl isn’t with you, did she die? Not that I mind. You both were a pain to deal with." He goes on without acknowledging my question.
I’ll just refer to him as the reaper for now to make my life easier since I know Aria or Ghost will ask me something soon. But if he is alive after everything we did in the tower... Who else is alive?
"Why does this guy know your name?" Aria asks with a bit of concern.
"I fought against him inside of a giant tower. Actually I killed him during our fight but somehow he’s here. I’ll handle it though." I respond with a bit of anger in my voice.
None of the anger was towards her whatsoever, it was towards the piece of shit standing in front of me. There’s no way he is human if he is alive yet again.
Rika isn’t here to help me with anything either so this fight I will be on my own without any extra help. I know it is possible for me to handle on my own.
But fighting against him like this is going to be different since I can’t let a lot of the appearance changes show. I might end up needing some help anyway.
"No. We will handle this." Aria says with a bit of an aura starting to form around her.
A strange light blue aura starts to form around her before she pulls a sword out from the aura. Splash! It was water? The sword forms perfectly to suit her style as the water still seems to surround her.
Her eyes were glowing slightly as she grips the handle of the sword.
"Our family is quite unique you could say. I’ll help you with this fight." Aria says confidently as she shifts her attention towards the reaper."Ghost can you help the people get away from this area?" I ask with kindness in my voice.
"Y-Yeah. I think I’ll be able to do that." She responds before running off to help people.
Bang!! A shot goes off towards her... Splash!!! Seems like Aria stopped it with that water of hers so it seems we’ll be dealing with this after all.
"Nice save. I’ll be ready in a second." I speak up while clenching my fists.
I could feel everything beginning to rise throughout my body like usual but the control was lacking. It felt a bit harder than usual to push everything where it needs to go.
The scales were forming along my arms once again, talons were also beginning to show but I manage to hide the one on my right hand with the gauntlet from before.
This was a lot more difficult than it should’ve been but I guess Rika does make a bit difference when she is here. In time I shouldn’t need her as much as I do but this is a pain in the ass.
Ba-thump. Ba-thump. I could hear my heart beating as loud as a drum and it felt like it was smashing against the inside of my chest.
My familiar red haze was back once again but it was a lot more intense than last time.
"Useless garbage like you should just lay down and die." A man says while walking past.
"Yeah, why are you even here anyway?" Another man chimes in with an irritated tone.
Laughing is all I can hear around me from people that aren’t even there... Memories from the past? It truly does fuel my hatred... My rage... God, why did people have to be like this towards me.
Rumble! Crack! Crack!! The ground around me is beginning to break like before but I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold back at all.
