Chapter 118: The Angel (2)
The tension in the room was even stronger than before, no one wanted anything to do with him. Talking with him was just going to be brief since it doesn’t change what’s to come.
"It seems like I might know you all already but the truth is, I don’t. Only some important things about each of you." The Angel said while looking at each of us.
"What does it matter if you know anything about us or not?" I ask, letting my frustration show.
"Sometimes it is kind of nice to know the people you are fighting against." He answers without hesitation.
I don’t know if I want to waste the time talking with him after all. He just hits every possible nerve without trying.
It is taking a lot for me to hold myself back from wanting to lay into him already. He’s been keeping that damn smile on his face this whole time as well.
That is even more annoying to be stuck staring at as we wait for him to talk more.
Have you been focusing on your power at all?
I have... Just this damn angel really pisses me off. I’m ready to just fight him with what I have already.
Remember that you need to work with the girls to fight against him. Even then I can’t say that you will win since Angels are notoriously known for their strength.
You’ve never beaten an angel before? I’m quite curious how much stronger they are compared to me.
No. I’ve never had the opportunity to face one before because they usually would disappear before the opportunity came.
But the stories I heard and some of the heroes who managed to survive told us all about them. It was kind of hard to mark as make believe since they lived through it.
So heroes were a thing in your world? Can’t say that I’m surprised since Velia also came from a completely different world. I’m not entirely sure my world has heroes, or at least not people who are given such a title.
My world seems to be more focused on the efforts of hunters or those who possess the most silvite. Soon enough I think that we’ll see some issues from the enemies of the wastelands.
Even some of the groups from within the depths of the cities will probably make their way out. I’m sure they also are tired of sitting around while the world continues to grow.
You mean something similar to the guys you helped kill before heading for the tower?
Exactly that. There will probably be more of them soon enough but we never had to deal with SS ranks.
They definitely exist within groups like that as well so it will be quite a problem when that arrives as well. I think I’m quite strong but it just takes me back to Alarion and Sylas.
Both of them were strong as hell and I’m not even sure if I would’ve beaten Sylas if he used their family’s fighting techniques.
Alarion also never showed a lot of his power to us, only the nullification.
That nullification is still pretty damn impressive though. It definitely can make a huge difference in a fight against someone like this.
This angel.
"So what exactly do you gain here Mr. Angel?" Akina asks, clearly still annoyed.
"Pure entertainment. There is nothing else for me to gain here. Killing all of you doesn’t make a difference in my day to day life." He responds with a somewhat serious tone.
"Then why don’t we just get back to the important shit at hand. Just fight us." I speak up while beginning to grit my teeth.
"If you desire the fight more, so be it." He said while slowly moving towards us.
The presence of his white sword was truly intense, it had such strange pressure to it. His power was definitely kind of intimidating but it wasn’t going to keep us back.
Akina, Velia, and Ghost all seem ready to fight against him too. There was no reason to stand around wasting time.
Bang!! Bang!!! Akina’s gunshots rang in the room after she fired, all I could see where bright pink bursts going towards the Angel.
With a swing of his sword he already dealt with the bullets that she fired at him but it didn’t matter since we were all rushing him as well.
Akina was giving us a way to get closer without him completely shifting his focus towards us. Bang! Bang! More shots went off as the three of us rushed towards him.
My right arm was already reeled back, ready to deliver a powerful punch to this asshole. In the distance I could also see the others about to bring their swords down onto him.
"Truly I am lucky." The Angel said before a bright white light begins to emit from his body.
Don’t get hit by this attack directly Rokuro!
Quickly I stepped back while using my stance to prepare for a block or maybe even a counterattack if possible. A burst of white light immediately goes towards everyone within a matter of seconds.
Fwoooosh!!! The Light goes right past me as I use my power to reinforce my block against it. It felt like someone was pushing me directly against the sun.
The pain was manageable for now but it was piercing through my arms with everything its got.
So this is something it is capable of doing. The white light is quite deadly to everyone here, hopefully the others were able to withstand it.
Yeah I’m not too sure yet since the room is still pretty damn bright. It makes it impossible to see what the others look like right now...
I’m hoping they can handle the attack that was thrown at us but who knows since even Akina seemed to be worried about this fight. Ghost and Velia I’m a bit more worried about since they don’t have nearly the same kind of power.
Or maybe ghosts awakening will make a difference.
