Chapter 119: The Angel (3)

Chapter 119: The Angel (3)

We still don’t know how strong she got from it or what she’s capable of doing now so maybe that will help us here.

"I can see that you all might be able to survive after all." The Angel says as the light disappears.

I could finally see everyone again... Velia seems to be standing with some minor damage to her arms and sword. Ghost seemed to be perfectly fine as if she wasn’t hit in the first place.

Lastly Akina was also in the distance with no real damage showing on her either. Were Velia and I the only ones who took damage?

"That attack was absurdly bright, asshole!" Akina shouted at him, her guns still aimed at him.

"Obviously. The attack works like that for a reason but I expected a tower goddess to be able to withstand it. Not anyone else." The Angel responds with a bit of shock in his voice.

"We’re stronger than we look." Velia speaks up with her usual monotone voice.

That light was definitely no joke, I can still feel it affecting my arms. I’ve experienced all sorts of pain since this all started but this might take the number one spot.

Yet the one thing I couldn’t shake... That damn smile on his face. It hasn’t gone away since everything started, not one time.

"Rokuro, you have quite the look on your face. Perhaps you are angry with me as well?" He questions while staring right at me.

I could feel my fists clenching tighter as he stared at me, this asshole was going to die.

Maybe it is time for you to push past some more limits. It has been awhile and there’s no reason to hide any physical changes in here.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, everyone here is well aware of my power. So it wouldn’t be that bad to push past my limits while they are all here.

Though something feels completely off about this whole situation... Actually my power feels like it died down a bit after tanking that hit.

I actually noticed that as well. I thought maybe you brought it down a bit intentionally but it seems that was not the case.

I have no reason to do that. This is a fight that requires a lot of power to begin with. I’m going to have to be a bit more cautious when taking on these attacks.

If it has nullification capabilities like Alarion... It might be a way bigger problem.

"Perhaps you’ve noticed the effect of my attack? Haha. That’s exactly what you noticed." He said while letting out a laugh.

"There wasn’t anything special about your attack. Shut up already." I responded calmly while getting back into the eclipse stance.

"Don’t worry, I wouldn’t want you weakened for our whole fight." The Angel assures me while staring right at me.

I don’t believe a word he says so it doesn’t really make a difference if he tells me that or not. I’m still going to be stuck fighting at a disadvantage temporarily regardless.

Is it even possible to bring it back a bit faster? Losing power like that is going to be a pain in the ass if it keeps happening.

You just have to buy some time, there is no faster way at the moment.

Bang!! Bang!! Bang!!! More gun shots begin to echo as the bursts of pink go soaring through the air.

This time one just barely seems to graze the angels shoulder. The smile still remained on his face, even with blood slowly dripping down his arm now.

The gunshots didn’t stop though, Akina continued to fire her gun while beginning to run. Strange arcs of white light started to get fired at her as she ran.

I’m assuming he is capable of manipulating the forms of light that he has, that must be his power. The white light is able to be manipulated by him in various ways which means this is going to be annoying.

But Akina just proved that it’s possible to get a hit on him so that’s all I need.

Don’t get too cocky now. He is still a lot stronger than us regardless of if she got a hit on him or not. She’s also got us beat with some power at the moment as well.

I get that. I’m working on it.

The scales were forming all throughout my arms once again, the red haze was also getting a bit more intense, and the talons were fully out now.

I could tell that I was beginning to take on more of a dragon like appearance than usual, even after getting hit with that nullification.

Crash!!!! Crash!!!! The arcs of light started hitting the walls behind Akina in the distance as the others started to rush at him once again.

Velia’s speed was definitely quite insane... But what caught me off guard was Ghost, she was also keeping up with Velia as they rushed after him.

Streaks of blue followed behind her as she followed Velia, it didn’t take long for them to reach the Angel. I stood there like a statue for a few moments as I noticed their swords connecting with the angels back.

Splat!!! Blood painted the floor around them as he slowly turned around to face the two of them.

It’s probably about time we go forward to help them. You should have a decent amount of power for an attack.

Thanks. I think you are right about that so let’s go kick this angels ass.

The time to think was no longer there since my friends were about to be attacked by this powerful ass angel. I felt my feet break the ground as I pushed off of it.

Soaring through the air was kind of a nice feeling for a few moments before I was finally within reach of the Angel. My fist was already reeled back and ready to swing towards him.

Here goes nothing.
