Chapter 447 Blame Him

This was Gu Yunting's lounge, a spacious area akin to a studio apartment, complete with a small kitchen, though it lacked any appliances and appeared to have never been used. The bedroom was larger than his home's, predominantly black and white, mirroring his own stern demeanor.

Ye Wan placed her schoolbag on the desk, took out her books and laptop, and began her homework with undivided attention.

Gu Yunting sat on the sofa in his office, his gaze fixed on the door he knew so well. What had once seemed insignificant now felt warm, making his blood boil.

He slowly withdrew his gaze and instructed his secretary to schedule a meeting. All he wanted now was to finish his work quickly and return to hold her.

It was already three in the morning when Gu Yunting returned. He felt a pang of fatigue, but the thought of Ye Wan waiting for him in his lounge spurred him on. He hurried back and, upon opening the door, saw a small lamp lit inside. Ye Wan was asleep in bed, curled up like a small animal, looking incredibly adorable.

She woke up at the sound, rubbing her eyes and looking at the man entering. "You're done working?" she asked softly.

"Mm-hmm. Go to sleep if you're tired. I'll come over after I shower," Gu Yunting said, looking at her wearing his shirt as if it were pajamas. Her slender white legs were exposed, making her appear soft, sweet, and fragrant.

"Okay." Ye Wan was genuinely tired. Her eyelashes fluttered a few times, and she closed her eyes again.

Gu Yunting kissed her forehead and turned to take his shower. He was quick, finishing in less than three minutes. He dried his hair halfway and lay down on the bed, pulling the sleepy figure into his embrace.

"Sleep if you're tired," Ye Wan murmured, snuggling into his chest and finding a comfortable position before drifting back to sleep.

Gu Yunting chuckled helplessly. He endured the physical discomfort, patting her back as an adult would soothe a baby to sleep. Ye Wan's small head nuzzled against his chest again, and she returned to her dreams.

When Ye Wan woke up, it was already broad daylight. She was alone in the large bed. The sound of water came from the bathroom; Gu Yunting was likely getting ready. She needed to use the restroom but could only wait until he finished.

Gu Yunting emerged from the bathroom and saw she was awake. He approached and pressed her onto the bed. Ye Wan tried to tell him she needed to go, but before she could speak, her mouth was sealed. Poor Ye Wan, she still needed to use the restroom.

In the end, Ye Wan was so upset she cried. Gu Yunting's attempts to soothe her were useless. The little girl eventually left in a huff, her eyes red like a rabbit's.

Gu Yunting had urgent matters to attend to and couldn't comfort her for the time being. He had to patiently handle the current difficult situation first.

...

On the weekend, Sun Ma and the housekeeper brought Ye Wan many things to take to the nursing home, all useful items for the elderly.

It was Ye Wan's first time participating in such an event, and she was curious, so she didn't refuse their kind offer.

Ye Wan hadn't seen Gu Yunting since they parted ways the previous day. Thinking about the embarrassing incident that morning made her feel too ashamed to face him!

It was all his fault!

Ye Wan and Jiang Yan arrived at the nursing home around the same time, earlier than the other classmates. Ye Wan wanted to give something to the elderly residents without being too conspicuous, so she had arranged to come early with Jiang Yan.
