She seemed to have completely given up all hope.

"Since I couldn’t fly today, then you’re going to fall straight to hell!"

His hand drew closer and closer to Cana, like a hunter slowly brandishing his executioner’s blade.

Suddenly!!

A tattered cloak brushed past Cana’s hair.

In the next moment, Bluenote was sent flying through the air.

Cana opened her eyes, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably at that moment.

The shattered pieces of earth that were flying around them seemed to be completely pulverized by some unseen force.

The figure standing before Cana, blocking her from harm, radiated an aura of such profound reassurance.

The figure slowly raised his head.

Cana could clearly see the veins bulging on the figure’s forehead, a stark indication of the intense rage that was coursing through him.

It was an expression that Cana had never witnessed before in her life.

It was also an expression that none of the members of Fairy Tail had ever seen before.

It was Gildarts’ unbridled fury!

However, despite the intensity of his anger, Cana found it to be incredibly gentle and comforting.

"Dad..." she whispered inwardly, finally uttering the word that had been locked away in her heart for so long!

Rustyrose, observing the two mages who were now firmly attached to the Empire Tower, adjusted his glasses, a sinister smile playing on his lips.

Having just received a desperate plea for assistance from Hades, Rustyrose decided that he no longer wished to prolong his game with the two Fairy Tail mages before him.

"May you both be reduced to dust within the confines of the Empire Tower! Hahahaha!"

He spread his arms wide, laughing maniacally, relishing the prospect of Fairy Tail’s impending downfall.

"What is this thing?!" Elfman exclaimed, straining his arms against the exterior of the tower in a desperate attempt to break free from its magnetic pull.

However, his efforts proved to be utterly futile.

"Elfman..." Evergreen whispered softly, her voice laced with a hint of resignation, as she too found herself firmly attached to the tower.

"Evergreen! Stay strong!" Elfman roared, his voice filled with a mixture of determination and concern.

Evergreen simply shook her head gently, her expression hidden from view.

"I’m so sorry... if you hadn’t chosen me as your partner, perhaps you would have become an S-class mage..."

"And perhaps we wouldn’t have lost to this guy," she added, her voice barely audible.

Although he couldn’t see Evergreen’s face, Elfman could clearly hear the tremor in her voice, indicating the depth of her self-reproach.

"You idiot," Elfman responded softly, his tone gentler than before.

"It’s because of you that I’ve been able to come this far!"

Perhaps sensing the presence of her comrade beside him, Elfman’s face was now devoid of any trace of fear or panic.

Facing the terrifying Empire Tower, he remained completely unfazed.

"Thank you, Evergreen!" he said softly, expressing his gratitude.

The two mages exchanged a knowing smile, and in that moment, the threat of impending death seemed to lose all its power.

Rumble—

Suddenly, the sound of thunder echoed through the sky.

In an instant, Evergreen’s eyes widened in surprise.

"Could it be..." she whispered, as she and Elfman both turned their gaze towards the heavens.

Without warning, the sky had become completely overcast, filled with ominous, dark clouds.

A series of thunderous rumbles reverberated through the storm clouds.

Even Rustyrose sensed that something was amiss, and he cast his gaze skyward, his expression etched with confusion.

"What’s going on?" he questioned aloud, his voice laced with a hint of apprehension.

Rumble—!!

The deafening sound of thunder reverberated once more, followed by a terrifying bolt of golden lightning that crashed down from the sky with incredible force.

To Rustyrose’s utter horror, his prized creation, the Empire Tower, was completely shattered by the lightning strike, reduced to nothing more than a pile of rubble.

The intense golden light from the lightning forced Rustyrose to shield his eyes with his hands.

"So you’re the one who’s been making a mess of our sacred ground?" a low, angry voice echoed from within the golden light.

As the lightning dissipated, Laxus emerged from the light, carrying Evergreen and Elfman in each of his hands.

"Laxus!!" the two mages exclaimed simultaneously, their voices filled with a mixture of surprise and relief.

Smiles spread across their faces, their hearts filled with gratitude and joy.

Laxus gently placed the two mages on the ground, his expression softening as he took in the sight of their numerous injuries. He knew the extent of the pain and suffering that they had endured.

He patted both of them on the shoulders, offering a silent gesture of reassurance.

"I’ll take it from here," he stated, his voice calm and confident.

Laxus slowly turned his gaze towards Rustyrose, his eyes burning with righteous fury.

His fists clenched tightly, causing sparks of lightning to crackle and dance around his body.

"You damned bastards, daring to provoke Fairy Tail! You’re going to hell to beg for forgiveness!"

"Don’t even think that I’ll let you get away with this!"

His furious roar, reminiscent of the roar of a thunder dragon, sent a shiver down Rustyrose’s spine!

————

Gajeel couldn’t be certain of the exact number of bodies that littered the ground around him, but he knew that there were at least a hundred, if not more.

These were not ordinary individuals; they were all members of Grimoire Heart, skilled and dangerous mages.

Furthermore, more and more Grimoire Heart mages continued to converge on their location, drawn by the scent of battle.

Ever since the Seven Kin of Purgatory had landed on the island, the members of Grimoire Heart had relentlessly targeted the heavily wounded Gajeel and Levy, seemingly intent on overwhelming them through sheer numbers.

Facing an endless onslaught of enemies, even with the invaluable assistance of Lily, the situation appeared to be hopeless.

After all, even Lily’s magical energy was rapidly dwindling, making it increasingly difficult for him to maintain his large, muscular form.

However, everything changed with the arrival of two familiar figures.

A magical missile, hurtling towards Gajeel, was suddenly and unexpectedly intercepted by a burst of magical energy.

"Freed and Bickslow!" Levy exclaimed in surprise, her voice filled with a mixture of relief and disbelief.

"What are you doing here?" Lily inquired, his expression etched with curiosity.

"We rushed back as soon as we noticed the signal flare," Bickslow responded, his voice casual.

"The grievous sin of harming our comrades will be atoned for with your very souls!"

Freed declared, his voice deep and resonant as he brandished his sword.

Watching the two mages standing before him, Gajeel couldn’t help but smile, a wave of relief washing over him. His vision began to blur as his body finally began to succumb to exhaustion.

Having long since depleted his physical strength and magical energy, he slowly closed his eyes.

He was simply too tired to continue. He needed to rest.

Immense magical power emanated from both Gildarts and Bluenote, their contrasting dark and light energies colliding in the air, creating a palpable sense of tension.

A heavy atmosphere settled over the surrounding area, stifling all sound and movement.

"Gildarts!" Natsu exclaimed, his voice filled with joy and relief.

"Get out of here!" However, the response that came was a stern, commanding voice.

"Move, now!" Gildarts roared, charging forward.

Bluenote responded by raising his arm, telekinetically lifting the ground beneath Gildarts’ feet, along with Gildarts himself, and flipping it over in a complete 180-degree rotation.

Gildarts’ expression remained unchanged, his features betraying no sign of surprise or alarm. With a single powerful step, he shattered the inverted ground beneath him, reducing it to countless fragments.

Utilizing the resulting recoil, Gildarts clenched his fist tightly, preparing to unleash a devastating blow upon Bluenote.

Bluenote, in turn, leaped into the air, clenching his own fist in anticipation of the impending clash.

In the next instant, the two mages’ fists collided with earth-shattering force.

BOOM!!
