Chapter 22 Academy Station Three

Ning Wei was not late this time, but before class, the female teacher again used the excuse of the toilet being too dirty and made the two of them go to the cafeteria to help with cleaning.

Fu Chengwei was exhausted and done for, especially after Ning Wei scared him by saying there were ghosts in the cafeteria.

Unfortunately, no one could change the female teacher's mind, so the two of them had to accept their fate.

This school was too big. Since they separated, Ning Wei had only seen Song Zhi, who was a teacher.

In the afternoon, they continued to study hard, occasionally glancing at the soundly sleeping Fu Chengwei.

The female teacher wasn't too unreasonable. She let Ning Wei and the other boy eat dinner before helping in the cafeteria, and they could return to the classroom when they finished. They didn't need to worry about evening study.

Upon hearing that they didn't have to attend evening study, the underachievers in the back rows became excited and raised their hands one after another, indicating they could also go.

The female teacher said with a cold smile, "So diligent? How about tidying up the library instead?"

As soon as the library was mentioned, the group of underachievers immediately fell silent. Some even showed looks of fear.

Seeing that she had these students under control, the female teacher's face showed immense satisfaction.

Ning Wei saw nothing of a teacher in her and felt increasingly strange.

She also wanted to find an opportunity to see that frightening library she mentioned.

After school in the afternoon, Ning Wei and Fu Chengwei went to the cafeteria to get food. This was the first time they saw the entire cafeteria, as they would be responsible for cleaning it after the students dispersed.

The female teacher had already spoken to the cafeteria manager in advance. After getting their food, the two of them ate inside the cafeteria, not in the area where students usually ate.

Because of this, they experienced the joy of skipping the queue. They could tell the aunties serving food whatever they wanted, and the aunties would scoop generous portions onto their trays without hesitation.

Fu Chengwei, who had been hungry all day, picked up his plate and began to devour his food. Ning Wei frowned as she watched him.

At this moment, they saw another male passenger in the cafeteria.

He was from the maintenance department. The cafeteria had reported a faulty light bulb that day, and he had come specifically to replace it.

He was startled to see the two of them eating in the cafeteria. Then, seizing the opportunity, he quietly told them, "Everyone has agreed. If you discover anything, write it down on a small piece of paper and leave it at the small grove where we first separated."

Fu Chengwei nodded.

Ning Wei took the opportunity to glance at the male passenger's ID badge, which read: Mei Nan, Maintenance Department.

Fu Chengwei finally found someone he knew and grabbed Mei Nan, pouring out his troubles. He told him about being punished to clean the toilets and having to clean the cafeteria later.

Mei Nan, who appeared to be in his thirties, found Fu Chengwei's words both amusing and exasperating. He let Fu Chengwei grab his clothes and listened patiently.

"When do you get off work?" Ning Wei asked casually.

"There's a lamp broken in the library too. I need to fix it before dark. Students will be studying there at night, and it can't delay their studies," Mei Nan replied honestly.

Ning Wei was stunned. Earlier in the classroom, when the female teacher had asked students to tidy the library, their expressions clearly showed they were extremely reluctant. How could students be studying in the library at night?

Her expression became somewhat subtle. Mei Nan asked, "Is something wrong?"

Ning Wei thought for a moment and finally shared her suspicions.

After hearing her, Mei Nan's expression became somewhat complex.

He had witnessed Ning Wei's performance at the bus station twice before. Although the young girl was not old, she was very intelligent and sensitive.

If she suspected the library had problems, it was highly likely.

However, this was part of his work for the day. If he didn't go, he didn't know if he would trigger a death rule.

Ning Wei looked through the high windows of the cafeteria and saw that it wasn't dark outside yet. She suggested to Mei Nan, "Go and fix it now. Come out immediately before it gets dark. It should be fine."

Mei Nan nodded, thanked her, and immediately left with his tools.

After Mei Nan left, Fu Chengwei muttered to Ning Wei, "Do you think he'll go?"

Ning Wei replied without looking up, "If he doesn't go to the library today and nothing happens to him, it can prove that not completing one's work will not trigger a death rule. For us, this is a good thing. Rules always need to be tested repeatedly to be clearly understood."

After hearing Ning Wei's long explanation, Fu Chengwei looked at her with a complex expression and said, "But won't this be too cruel?"

Ning Wei glared at him and said nothing, picking up her plate to wash it.

The students in the cafeteria soon dispersed, leaving behind a mess of tables and a large bucket of plates.

Ning Wei was responsible for wiping the tables, and Fu Chengwei was responsible for clearing the plates. They worked up a sweat in the cafeteria. The supervisor beside them sat with his legs crossed, smoking a cigarette, appearing very leisurely.

Fu Chengwei pushed a cart of plates to the kitchen, where three aunts were responsible for washing and disinfecting them.

Although he sometimes disagreed with Ning Wei's methods, seeing how hard she was working wiping tables, Fu Chengwei also went to help after clearing the plates.

Work time always passes quickly. Outside the glass doors, the sky had completely darkened.

To save electricity, only two dim lights were left on in the entire cafeteria, barely enough to see.

The supervisor acted like a stingy landlord, pointing and criticizing the students' work. He especially loitered around Ning Wei, his gaze filled with blatant lust. Even the less perceptive Fu Chengwei noticed it and stayed close to Ning Wei.

This action clearly displeased the supervisor. He ordered Fu Chengwei to get a broom from the kitchen, "There's so much trash on the floor, can't you see? Hurry up and clean it!"

This man was not a teacher, and Fu Chengwei was not afraid of him.

Seeing that Fu Chengwei didn't move, the supervisor even tried to push him.

They had only entered this school today. They hadn't even figured out the rules, let alone the situation of the school. Ning Wei did not want to sacrifice any more passengers so early on.

"Hurry up and go. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can go back to the classroom for evening study," Ning Wei gave a reason to let Fu Chengwei leave.

Fu Chengwei received Ning Wei's look and knew she could handle it herself. He then went to the kitchen, looking back repeatedly.

He didn't dare to delay for a moment. That pervert's gaze was too obvious. He couldn't bear to see Ning Wei being taken advantage of.

While Fu Chengwei was in the kitchen getting the broom, the supervisor couldn't wait to get close to Ning Wei.

Ning Wei, holding a towel, quickly swept the trash from the table onto the floor.

Among them was a banana peel. The supervisor, not paying attention to the floor, stepped on it due to the dim lighting.
