Losing a patient was a very serious matter, and the nurse's legs went weak with fright.
She dared not tell anyone and continued to search in secret.
After a long search, she finally returned to the fifth floor, trembling. Just as she was about to confess the truth to the head nurse, she saw Ning Wei already lying in bed, asleep.
The nurse was terrified. Disregarding the consequences, she opened the door and pulled Ning Wei up.
Ning Wei looked at her, bewildered, though she was forcefully suppressing her emotions.
Seeing that there was no one outside, the nurse sternly asked Ning Wei, "Why didn't you tell me you were back!"
Her grip was so strong that Ning Wei knew without looking that the spot she was holding was turning red.
Ning Wei pretended to struggle, then slowly explained, "There was a fight downstairs, I was scared and hid in my room."
This excuse was flawless, and the nurse, unable to hit her, could only exert more force. After she had vented her anger, she finally released her grip.
Her expression now looked much better, as she had released her emotions in another way.
But Ning Wei was not so fortunate; she desperately wanted to lash out right then and there.
The nurse also realized belatedly that she was facing a patient with antisocial personality disorder who had a history of harming others. She had dared to vent her dissatisfaction at Ning Wei.
The more the nurse thought about it, the more scared she became, and she quietly put her hand into her pocket.
Ning Wei had long known what was in that pocket. She was holding back her temper precisely to avoid being restrained and forcibly sedated by a group of older women.
The two women stared at each other. The nurse was full of defensiveness, while Ning Wei appeared very confused.
After a long while, reassured that Ning Wei showed no signs of losing her temper, the nurse breathed a sigh of relief.
She stood by the door, her hand always on the doorknob. This door was special; it could only be opened from the outside, so holding the lock was the safest position for her.
If Ning Wei acted up, she could immediately close the door to ensure her own safety.
"You must tell me where you're going from now on, and you can't wander off randomly, understand?" The nurse puffed out her chest, like a proud peacock.
Ning Wei smiled and nodded.
The nurse, having run around for so long and holding back her frustration, had let it all out upon seeing Ning Wei. She was extremely thirsty, picked up her water cup, filled it to the brim, and gulped it down.
White powder flowed into the cup with the water. When hot water was added, some of the traces disappeared.
Today's minor incident was Tang Tang's assault; otherwise, everything was fine.
In the evening, Ning Wei went to the sixth floor to find Tang Tang. Fortunately, Tang Tang was staying in the room Ning Wei had previously occupied.
The first thing Ning Wei did upon opening the door was to rush to the bathroom. Ning Wei followed slowly, having almost forgotten about a secret place that hadn't been checked yet.
Standing before the last door, Tang Tang, pulling up her pants, asked, "What are you doing?"
Ning Wei didn't answer. She unlocked the door and then beckoned Tang Tang to come and see.
Inside were indeed cleaning supplies, but behind the mop, a human figure could be vaguely seen.
Tang Tang, startled, grabbed Ning Wei's arm, only to be pushed away by Ning Wei with disdain.
Ning Wei was not afraid of such things. She stepped forward directly, removed the obstructing mop, revealing a ghastly face behind it.
He was hiding there, looking terrified, with only a dark head visible to Ning Wei.
Ning Wei's patience ran out. She grabbed him by the collar and pulled him out. What she saw, however, startled Ning Wei.
There wasn't a single intact piece of flesh on his body. His belly was open, revealing a hollow cavity. All his vital organs were gone.
Ning Wei's violent pull caused his intestines to spill out onto the ground, scaring Tang Tang into covering her mouth and backing away.
The ghost, however, carefully picked up his intestines from the ground. The motion was as if he had done it countless times, skillfully arranging the intestines and stuffing them back into his belly.
"Do you have a needle? I want to sew my stomach," the ghost said lazily. He was painfully trying to hold his belly together with his hands.
As soon as he let go, his intestines would fall out again. These things were too difficult to manage.
"No!" Ning Wei flatly refused.
The ghost looked disappointed. He sat back down on the abandoned toilet, holding his stomach.
"How long have you been here?" Ning Wei asked him.
"I don't remember."
"Then what do you remember?"
"I remember a lot of blood, a lot of people, and how my intestines never stay put. I'm so anxious."
Great, another ghost from whom nothing could be extracted.
"Why are you hiding here?"
Hearing this question, the ghost gently shushed Ning Wei, "Don't talk. I'm playing hide-and-seek. If I get caught, I'll become a ghost."
Ning Wei was speechless. She directly locked the door and then pulled Tang Tang downstairs.
When everyone had gathered, Ning Wei shared her discovery with them: "Don't take your medicine. Believe us, you're not sick. If you can keep the medicine by your side, that would be even better."
They didn't understand the meaning of the latter part of her sentence. Ning Wei took a group of them to the nurse's station. She expertly opened the door and went to the water dispenser.
This time, she directed Song Zhi to place the water bucket on the floor. Then, under everyone's watchful eyes, she poured all the powdered medicine into it.
This bucket of water had just been refilled. The medicine powder and water quickly merged, making it impossible to detect any issues.
"Are you... poisoning the water?"
Ning Wei responded as if it were the most natural thing in the world: "They can give us medicine, can't we give them medicine?"
No one could answer, but the idea was too unexpected. They certainly wouldn't have thought of it.
"Do you have more? We can poison the water dispensers on floors two through six," Ning Wei said, extending her hand.
"This... it's a bit too sudden. How about we give you some tomorrow?" Wang Jing had eaten little today, forcing herself to vomit everything in the bathroom, and flushing it down the toilet.
The others were the same. They couldn't master Ning Wei's method and could only resort to the crude method of induced vomiting.
Ning Wei withdrew her hand, a little disappointed. Then, Li Ye grabbed her hand and gave her a handful.
Ning Wei was shocked!
The others were also shocked!
With this amount of medicine, they wouldn't need to eat anymore. One could imagine the quantity.
"May I ask, how many doses of medicine is this?" Mei Nan asked Li Ye.
"It's all for today." Li Ye, who was usually reticent except when arguing with Ning Wei, surprisingly replied.
"It seems your medical record must be quite a read," Ning Wei remarked, not forgetting to tease him as she took the medicine.
With the medicine, things became much easier. Everyone accompanied Ning Wei as they began to administer the poison from the third floor.
Because there was ample powdered medicine, Ning Wei even smeared the powder onto the inner parts of the water dispenser.
"Even if they change the water, they won't change the dispenser. I'm so clever," Ning Wei praised herself after finishing the task.
