Chapter 141 The Mental Hospital V

The next morning, Ning Wei was awakened by pills of various sizes.

Ning Wei held the medicine for a long time before taking it. "Can I go to the bathroom after I finish taking it?"

She had been forced awake by a nurse, and it was normal to want to go to the toilet after sleeping for a night.

The nurse had to agree to her request to make her take the medicine obediently.

Ning Wei was indeed very cooperative. She quickly took the medicine and opened her mouth for the nurse to check.

The nurse was very satisfied and then took Ning Wei to the bathroom.

There were five doors in the bathroom. The last one could not be opened. The nurse said it was used to store cleaning supplies and mops, and Ning Wei believed her.

She decided to come to the bathroom in the middle of the night to check. Anything she wasn't allowed to see must have something fishy!

Ning Wei continued to act obedient and cooperative today. "When can I go back to a room with a bathroom?"

Seeing how obedient she was, the nurse continued to coax her. "As long as you keep being good and listening, the head nurse will agree to let you go to a regular ward soon."

"Why isn't a doctor coming to see me? Why are you giving me so much medicine? Who is giving me the medicine?"

"The medicine is prescribed by a doctor, of course. Do you want to see a doctor? Seeing a doctor is not a good thing," the nurse coaxed Ning Wei like a child.

She could not fully believe what the nurse said, nor could she completely disregard it.

In the afternoon, Ning Wei saw the doctor she had been looking forward to, but he wasn't there to see her.

Even from two rooms away, she could still hear the person desperately resisting and howling in pain.

Nurses ran to that side one after another. Ning Wei could only get a general idea through the small peephole and had no idea what was happening.

In the end, the doctor arrived. Then, she saw a person tied to a movable bed frame, covered with a quilt. Bloodstains fell on the ground and were then stepped on by nurses passing by in a hurry.

Finally, the patient disappeared into the elevator and never returned.

The nurses also used mops to clean up the bloodstains on the ground, and then passed by Ning Wei's room carrying clean white bedsheets with plum blossoms.

After watching the commotion, Ning Wei was about to sit back on the bed when the nurse who had been responsible for her appeared outside the peephole.

She urgently warned Ning Wei, "Don't tell anyone what you saw!"

Ning Wei looked bewildered. "What just happened? I think I saw a doctor?"

The nurse didn't think she was faking it. Anyway, she watched her take so much medicine every meal, so it should be fine.

With that thought, the nurse returned to her usual gentle demeanor. "You saw wrong. That wasn't a doctor, just a nurse in a white coat."

"Oh." Ning Wei seemed uninterested and sat back on the bed, staring blankly.

According to the nurse's observations, Ning Wei was either sleeping or staring blankly. She always ate her meals and took her medicine obediently, making her the most compliant patient she was responsible for.

"Ning Wei, just hold on a little longer. You'll be back in a regular room with a bathroom soon," the nurse couldn't help but say before leaving.

Ning Wei's expression remained unchanged, but inwardly she was overjoyed.

She had been pretending to be obedient and had finally fooled this young nurse.

Even though the nurse wore a hypocritical mask in front of her, she was too young and Ning Wei easily removed it.

Being soft-hearted was not an advantage when working here.

The nurse was right. Before dinner, she was indeed moved to a regular ward, directly opposite Li Ye's room.

However, Ning Wei remembered that there were people in this room last night. How was it vacated today?

The room was very clean. Everything was white, even the walls had been freshly painted.

Ning Wei reached out and picked at the wall. She discovered that hidden beneath the white paint was the hysterical scratching of another patient.

It was a beautiful scroll drawn on the wall with fingernails, as if by a ghost's claws, stained with traces of blood, from someone who didn't feel pain.

According to the schedule, the nurse brought in the medicine and water.

She was very surprised to see the streaks of blood on the wall. "How did you scratch the white wall?"

"There was a smell here, so I wanted to find out where it was coming from and scratched the white wall a little," Ning Wei looked at the nurse innocently.

The nurse's eyes flickered. "There's no smell. These are just marks left by paintbrushes. I thought you were moving in, so I had the workers repaint it, but you ruined it like this. All my hard work was for nothing."

The nurse shifted the blame directly to Ning Wei.

Ning Wei was a little surprised. "So it was specially prepared for me by the nurse. I thought someone was trying to harm me, which is why it looked like this. Why don't you get some more paint, and I'll repaint it?"

"Never mind. Hospital regulations do not allow bringing things into the ward. You should just take your medicine obediently first."

Ning Wei was very obedient. She swallowed all the medicine in one gulp, then drank a large glass of water.

However, after the nurse left, she spat it all into the toilet and took a bathroom break, completely flushing away the pills.

After all the patients had finished their dinner, the fluorescent lights lit up again. The nurses checked several times before finally going home with peace of mind.

Based on last night's experience, Ning Wei slept for a while. Then, about an hour after the patrols had left, she opened Li Ye's door.

Li Ye was still sitting by the window, with the scarce moonlight falling on his fair face. He was truly a rare specimen!

Ning Wei was mesmerized, but in her distraction, Li Ye sharply tapped her head.

"So stingy, it's just a glance," Ning Wei grumbled, holding her head.

"Speak your mind and don't waste time staring here," Li Ye's clear and cold voice sounded.

Almost misled by his beauty, Ning Wei asked him what had happened in her room during the day.

Li Ye told her that shortly after taking her medicine in the morning, the patient opposite suddenly went into a frenzy, banging his head against the wall. Then the nurses rushed in, subdued him with sedatives, tied him to a movable bed frame, pushed him away, and he never returned.

This was similar to the patient on the sixth floor, but Ning Wei had only heard noises, likely shouting and screaming, and then being taken away by the nurses.

The only difference was that the patient on the sixth floor had drawn the attention of doctors.

"Was he taken away for treatment because he was injured?" Ning Wei looked at Li Ye curiously.

Li Ye looked exasperated. "Are you asking me? Do I look like I have the answer written on my face?"

He had to admit, Li Ye's mouth was getting more poisonous, and it was only directed at Ning Wei.

Since she couldn't figure it out, Ning Wei decided not to think about it.

She and Li Ye went out together, planning to give the other passengers a break.
