Chapter 142 Six, Mental Hospital

The group was still holding a meeting in the second-floor ward.

Last night, Ning Wei had shared her techniques for avoiding medication, but today everyone's attempts had ended in failure.

As they were taking turns discussing their findings for the day, Tang Tang suddenly lunged, grabbing a stool to attack someone.

"Not good! It must be her other personality!" Mei Nan reached out and grabbed the stool, struggling fiercely with her.

After the middle-aged male personality appeared, Tang Tang's strength had increased.

Song Zhi and Mei Nan stood together, while Tang Tang gritted her teeth and tried to kick.

Ning Wei had no choice but to come up behind her, chop her hard on the back of the neck with her hand, and catch her as she fainted.

"Come on, give me a hand," Ning Wei said to Zhu Yilian.

Together, she and Zhu Yilian placed the unconscious Tang Tang on the bed.

"How could her personality suddenly change?" Wang Jing couldn't understand.

"Normally healthy people, brought to this hospital, are all diagnosed with a mental illness. Is this a setup, or something else?" Ning Wei looked at Li Ye.

Li Ye did not answer.

Everyone else also fell into thought. Why had Tang Tang actually fallen ill? She didn't have multiple personalities originally.

"Besides Tang Tang, think carefully. Do you feel like you're experiencing any mental issues yourself?" Ning Wei regretted asking this as soon as the words left her mouth. Who among the sick would admit they were sick?

She first examined herself. Had the antisocial personality disorder on her medical record actually manifested in her?

So far, she felt that her actions were consistent with her own personality. She hadn't done anything out of line or harmful to others. However, she had thought about retaliating against the nurse who forced her to hold her urine. But wasn't that a normal psychological reaction?

Who would want to be forced to hold their urine?

In such a situation, wouldn't everyone have a rebellious impulse?

The main reason Ning Wei was embarrassed to talk about holding her urine was that it was too humiliating and didn't fit the image she maintained in front of others.

After Ning Wei asked the question, everyone fell silent. Like Ning Wei, they were all introspecting.

The first to answer was Yuan Yuan. Her medical record stated she had fantasy disorder, meaning she had difficulty distinguishing reality from fantasy and was prone to immersing herself in fantasies.

"I think... I'm developing fantasy disorder..."

She herself was hesitant to believe it, as having a mental illness was not a good thing.

"What did you see?" Ning Wei pressed.

Yuan Yuan glanced at Ning Wei and then said, "I saw you."

"When?"

Yuan Yuan began to recall. The reason she was unsure was that everything she saw felt too real.

"After dark, you opened my door and told me that if I took my medicine properly, I could escape, but if I didn't, I would truly become mentally ill and be trapped here forever."

What made Yuan Yuan doubt was that after dark, she was indeed waiting for Ning Wei to open her door.

However, what made her uncertain was that Ning Wei had told them not to take their medicine the previous night, so why would she tell them to take it today?

Yuan Yuan's head was spinning. She looked at Ning Wei with a confused expression, grabbed Ning Wei's arm tightly, and asked, "Should I take the medicine or not? Should I take the medicine or not?"

Seeing Yuan Yuan's unstable emotions, Ning Wei simply knocked her unconscious again with a hand chop.

One sickbed now had two unconscious people.

"Are you going to hit anyone you deem not right?" Zhu Yilian somewhat disagreed with Ning Wei's method, primarily because she didn't want to be knocked out. This single bed wouldn't fit three people.

"Don't worry, if you seem not right, I can let you leave this ward. As long as you don't affect us, you don't have to worry about being knocked unconscious," Ning Wei said to Zhu Yilian with a smile.

In the end, Ning Wei naturally won, as she was the more capable fighter.

The meeting tonight had yielded some results, as two people had indeed fallen ill.

From the time they entered this place, excluding Ning Wei and Li Ye, everyone else had taken medication six times.

Tang Tang was clearly not right, otherwise how could she suddenly become so strong and try to attack someone?

Yuan Yuan was also on the verge of a breakdown. She actually believed what the imagined Ning Wei had said: that only by taking the medicine properly could they leave this place.

But deep down, she resisted, because the two versions of Ning Wei had said completely opposite things. This was precisely the cause of her breakdown.

Before the meeting adjourned, Ning Wei reiterated her warning to everyone: absolutely do not take any more medication. The more you take, the worse your mental illness will become!

When they left, they first carried the two unconscious people back, and then returned to their respective wards.

Ning Wei was still the last to leave, after all, she alone possessed the extraordinary skill of unlocking and locking doors.

Ning Wei did not return to her ward. She stood at the staircase, looked up, and finally decided to go up to see if there were any new discoveries.

Arriving at the sixth floor, no one lived there anymore, but the medicine in the nurse's station at the end of the corridor was still there, suggesting that more people would be sent to this floor later.

Ning Wei opened the room where the patient who had been taken away had stayed. Although the sheets and other items had been changed, the marks on the wall had not yet been dealt with.

There was a lot of blood on the wall. The patient had used his finger dipped in blood to write "RUN" with several exclamation marks following.

Unfortunately, he himself had not managed to escape in the end.

Even though he was no longer on the sixth floor, Ning Wei had a premonition that he had not left this hospital.

Ning Wei pulled the bed away and meticulously searched every corner. Finally, near the wall, she found a few words scratched out with fingernails: They are not human!

With this discovery, Ning Wei became even more cautious, examining all four walls.

The final message she pieced together was: I am not sick, they are not human, don't take medicine, run.

By tomorrow, these traces would surely be gone. Ning Wei, unwilling to give up, felt around again, but unfortunately, she only managed to get these few pieces of information.

Moreover, the person who left this message, in order to avoid being discovered by the nurses, had scratched the marks on the white wall bit by bit with their fingernails. If Ning Wei hadn't been so meticulous, she would have easily overlooked these details.

Fortunately, she had come today. Tomorrow, the white walls would be repainted, and these marks would no longer exist.

Following this method, Ning Wei checked several other rooms. Unfortunately, after a long time, these marks had long since been erased by the nurses, leaving nothing behind.

Ning Wei felt a bit disappointed and yawned. Just as she was about to return to her ward to sleep, a figure flashed by.

"Who's there!" Ning Wei preemptively demanded.

However, there was no answer. The figure was unnaturally fast. Ning Wei chased, only stopping at the elevator at the end of the corridor.

The elevator was now out of order. It was only notified when needed, and the nurses and staff usually climbed the stairs.

The only time Ning Wei had seen the elevator doors open was when the doctor arrived and the agitated patient was taken away.
