Madam Jade

Chapter 166 The Mental Hospital Thirty

But these people seemed impervious to pain. Some used scalpels to cut open their own bellies, while others slashed into others' abdomens with scissors.

The scene was extremely bloody, and Mu Qing immediately threw up. The others weren't much better.

The person in charge called for more reinforcements, finally managing to control the group.

The hospital's dark business was now fully exposed. Mu Qing, walking at the very back, glanced back at the fifth floor as she left, the floor where Ning Wei's room had been.

The reason Mu Qing called the police wasn't just because the two pills she'd taken out had tested positive for issues, but also because her own blood had shown abnormalities.

She initially suspected the head nurse of trying to harm her, which led her to report them.

The underlying cause was merely a small trick played by Ning Wei, who likely never imagined it would lead to such a conclusion.

Regardless, the final outcome was good.

However, aside from Mu Qing, no one else remembered that eight patients had left this hospital.

Many years later, Mu Qing still remembered the words of the beautiful girl who had told her: "Don't do bad things."

She firmly believed this girl had come to save these patients, even though others thought Mu Qing was hallucinating from her time in the psychiatric hospital.

Everyone had received their punishment, all the ghosts had avenged themselves, and the other patients were receiving better care.

And the passengers were about to embark on their next adventure.

Mei Nan and the others had already boarded. Just as Li Ye had predicted, the conductor didn't rush the driver to depart, nor did she utter a single complaint.

This was out of character for the conductor, and everyone secretly suspected it had something to do with Li Ye.

He had never deliberately concealed his abilities in front of them. For instance, the blood on the ground receding at his feet – was that something a normal person could do?

There was no need to dwell on these details; after all, they themselves were no longer living like humans.

Who would willingly visit a psychiatric hospital or set fire to a school and kill people for no reason?

Since everyone was abnormal, why bother being concerned?

The more they experienced, the more open-minded and clear-sighted they became.

As long as there was hope of leaving, they were willing to be humans or ghosts.

They gazed into the depths of the woods, where the small gate of the psychiatric hospital stood, serving as the escape route for the head nurse and the director.

The gate opened once more, and two long-awaited figures emerged.

Tang Tang waved frantically and shouted through the glass, and Ning Wei responded by waving back.

"You seem to be in a good mood," Li Ye said, glancing at her.

"I walked into that room filled with organs and felt their pain. Now that they have found release, I feel it too."

"Unburdened by resentment, I feel like a little bird set free." Ning Wei said, starting to tiptoe and spin in circles on the path.

Li Ye watched her. Although his face remained expressionless, the emotions hidden deep within his eyes betrayed him.

The two soon arrived at the bus. The conductor had been waiting for a long time.

"Congratulations, you even managed to deal with such a difficult station. You truly live up to your reputation, Ning Wei."

Ning Wei handed her ticket to the conductor. "It's the first time you've spoken human language, and I'm very satisfied. Keep it up next time."

The conductor pouted. She knew this girl would push her luck and try to gain an advantage.

Next, Li Ye boarded. The conductor became even more reserved and respectful. She took his ticket with both hands but didn't look at it, directly stuffing it into the pocket of her tattered uniform.

"Please choose your seats, passengers, fasten your seatbelts. Our bus will depart shortly."

Everyone began to move. However, upon hearing the word "depart," the driver sped off as if driving a roller coaster.

Had Ning Wei not reacted quickly and grabbed the handrail, she would have fallen.

The conductor pretended not to see Ning Wei's embarrassment and quickly turned to face forward.

Once the passengers had slowly closed their eyes to rest, she leaned into the driver's ear and whispered, "You almost made that little vixen fall. Are you trying to get me killed?"

The driver looked somewhat bewildered. "I heard you say 'depart'."

The conductor quickly cut him off. "Alright, alright! Forget I said anything!"

The bus continued forward, soon reaching the main road. It was still pitch black, with only the two large headlights of the bus emitting a dim yellow glow.

Having eaten and slept poorly at the psychiatric hospital, everyone was physically and mentally exhausted. Upon boarding the bus, they eagerly closed their eyes to sleep.

Ning Wei and Li Ye still sat in the last row, one on each side.

Ning Wei, leaning against the window, propped her chin with her hand, already asleep.

She had been forced to bear resentment in the hospital, and her body was at its limit. This was her only chance to rest.

Li Ye, with slightly narrowed eyes, kept his gaze fixed on the window.

With him present, the conductor dared not cause any more trouble.

The bus was very quiet, with no sounds other than the breathing of the seven living passengers.

In the darkness, the bead in Li Ye's palm would occasionally emit its light, until finally, Li Ye placed it inside his clothes, and it could no longer be seen.

Ning Wei woke up and opened her eyes to see Li Ye staring intently out the window.

"Aren't you resting?"

"I've already rested."

Li Ye looked ahead. "Besides, we'll be there soon."

As soon as he finished speaking, the bus suddenly stopped.

The abrupt braking threw everyone forward, but since they were leaning against their backs, the jolt only served to wake them up without any other ill effects.

The conductor clapped her hands, telling everyone to wake up.

"We have arrived at the Marine Park. Passengers, please disembark in an orderly fashion. The guide will meet you at the station shortly. Please do not wander off."

Everyone yawned and stretched, then disembarked one by one according to their seat numbers.

The station was designed with a strong marine theme; it was, in a word, incredibly blue.

Blue fish, blue station signs.

"Marine Park," Tang Tang said, looking up at the station sign.

"Another park," Wang Jing recalled their previous experience at the zoo. Frankly, she didn't want to go through that again.

Ning Wei sat on a light blue wooden plank, pulling a few other girls down to rest with her.

They scanned their surroundings, not wanting to miss the guide.

However, instead of the guide, another bus arrived, which was an unprecedented situation.

"What does this mean?" Tang Tang leaned against Ning Wei and whispered in her ear.

Ning Wei shook her head. "Let's wait and see."

The bus's license plate was also 444, and it soon stopped in front of them.

The worn-out door opened, and a large group of people spilled out.

The conductor on this bus also had a ghostly expression. "This station is Marine Park. Passengers, please wait for your guide at the station. Do not wander off, or you will be responsible for the consequences!"
