Rumble rumble~
Kap Lionmane was abruptly awakened from his dreams by a massive sound.
He felt as if the earth itself were trembling and the mountains collapsing.
Kap's eyes snapped open, a cold gleam flashing within them.
What happened??
Rolling out of bed, he donned his armor in record time and stepped out of the house, the long blade forged by Dwarves in his hand gleaming with an icy, blinding edge.
Standing outside, he looked into the distance.
Due to the thick fog above the Dwarven Valley, moonlight couldn't penetrate inside. The light was extremely dim. Even though Beastmen had some degree of night vision, they still couldn't see far in such an environment.
They could only rely on the faint glow of torches and magical lamps to peer into the distance. He couldn't see what was causing the noise, but he could vaguely sense a massive figure sweeping across the sky.
Like a demon from the Abyss, horrifying and dreadful.
Clang~ Clang~ Clang~
Moments later, alarm bells were rung by the patrolling Beastmen, shattering the stillness of the Dwarven town in an instant.
Enemy attack alarm!!
Kap’s expression hardened slightly. This wasn’t an earthquake or a landslide. But before he could respond further…
Rumble rumble~
An even louder noise erupted. After a tremor, the city wall built at the valley entrance collapsed!!
Upon hearing the unmistakable sound of the wall falling, Kap's eyes filled with unconcealed shock.
The Dwarven walls were incomparably sturdy. Even when the Beastmen had attacked before, their siege weapons hadn’t been able to break them. And now, they had collapsed??
Who exactly is the enemy??
Just then, several Beastmen warriors who had been standing guard rushed over in a hurry.
They placed a fist over their chests and saluted Kap. “King.”
“Immediately scout the enemy's situation. Also, gather the wolf cavalry and prepare to counterattack!!
Have the Third Tribe send people to keep the Dwarves in check. Don’t let them cause trouble.”
Kap’s tone was cold and composed. The Beastmen were a warlike race, born and raised in conflict.
They already had their own system for responding to war. Even though the enemy was still unknown, he had enough time to react.
'Yes.'
The Beastmen who received the orders quickly left to pass them on, while Kap walked straight out of the courtyard.
Where he lived wasn’t the City Lord’s Mansion, but just a simple courtyard.
As he stepped through the gate, he saw other Beastmen pouring out of their homes into the street, trying to figure out what was happening. The crowd blocked the street completely.
Kap was just about to speak when he caught a glimpse of a terrifying shadow from the corner of his eye.
“Enemy attack!!” He shouted the warning just in time.
The massive shadow that had been hunting in the sky seemed to have noticed something. It let out a terrifying screech, sharp and thunderous, enough to make even Kap's heart skip a beat.
Just as the Beastmen stood frozen in shock, a monstrous beast clad in heavy armor, its wingspan reaching 16 blades wide, swooped down from the skies. Its razor-sharp wings shimmered with a chilling gleam as it dove from above the street.
A demon descended!!
No Beastmen could imagine what kind of horrifying demon they were up against.
Most of the Beastmen had just awoken from their sleep. Before they could react, they were hit with a fatal blow.
On the 30-blade-wide street, the beast’s wings were like the scythes of death. As it dived at high speed through the densely packed Beastmen,
Its enormous claws gouged into the ground, tearing apart the bluestone-paved road like giant hooks plowing through soil. Bluestone and earth sprayed into the air.
The beast’s bladed wings, in its high-speed charge, even cleaved through the Dwarf-forged weapons of the Beastmen who tried to block it.
Like a massive farming machine harvesting wheat, the crowded street was cleared in mere seconds, leaving horrific casualties.
Only the Beastmen on either side of the street, those the beast hadn’t passed directly over, remained.
At the center was a death trail, blood flowing like a river, severed limbs everywhere.
Silence. A deathly silence.
No groans of the injured were heard, because during the beast's dive, there were only those who dodged it, and those who died. No one was left merely wounded.
Dong~ Dong~ Dong
The alarm still rang through the city, but paired with this bloody scene, it sounded like a funeral bell, for the dead.
Kap’s face turned grim. He had barely regained his senses when he saw this scene.
Killing intent surged within him.
“Scatter the troops!! Archers and crossbowmen, organize a counterattack!!
Lionmane Tribe!! Invincible!!”
His furious roar snapped the stunned Beastmen back to their senses. Their shaken morale quickly surged back.
“Lionmane Tribe!! Invincible!!”
“Lionmane Tribe!! Invincible!!”
“...”
The Beastmen’ battle cries echoed from the street where Kap stood and spread in all directions. Soon the entire city was boiling with these shouts, and the once-faltering morale stabilized in an instant.
But, the battle had only just begun.
Boom boom boom~
The earth trembled.
When a 7-blade-tall Cyclops clad in 8 tons of armor ran across the land, every step left a giant footprint in the solid ground.
After Kosso used the brute strength of a Bronze Cyclops to single-handedly destroy the Dwarven wall, he charged into the Dwarven Valley.
The Dwarven city wasn’t built directly at the valley entrance but was instead set about three kilometers back, separated by a wide grassy expanse.
With Kosso’s 7-blade height, each stride spanned more than ten meters. The three-kilometer distance took him only a few minutes.
By the time he neared the Dwarven city, the Beastmen' first wave of troops had just finished assembling.
Wolf cavalry.
The elite unit of the Beastmen.
At that moment, five hundred of them were gathered at the front of the Dwarven city, with more still on the way.
When they saw a steel giant clad in reinforced armor charging toward them with terrifying momentum, the atmosphere instantly froze. But when they heard the war cries from the city behind them, their confidence quickly returned.
The wolf cavalry roared and charged at the towering foe before them.
Boom boom~ Boom boom~
Driven by the fury of both sides, the earth shook even harder.
Five hundred wolf cavalry versus the Bronze Cyclops.
An epic scene.
Yet in terms of sheer momentum, five hundred wolf cavalry couldn’t match the domineering presence of a single heavily armored Kosso.
The distance between the two sides shrank rapidly.
