Chapter 10 Embarkation Three

The golden retriever, a medium to large breed, barked incessantly, making everyone anxious.

"Nao Nao, Nao Nao, are you alright?" Old Hu's wife hurried from the deck into the cabin, quickly pulling the child away from the dog and carefully examining him from head to toe.

Nao Nao, already frightened by the dog, was now being pulled around forcefully by his mother. Thinking he had done something wrong and was about to be beaten, he burst into tears as a preemptive measure.

Da Huang whimpered softly, tucking its tail between its legs and hiding beside Jia Wenjun. Wenjun immediately noticed a bald patch on the dog's back.

Without a doubt, Nao Nao had mischievously pulled out the dog's fur. Remembering the dog's earlier yelp of pain, it must have hurt terribly. Luckily, Da Huang hadn't retaliated and bitten the child.

"I want to know why your property management allows dogs on board! It's a good thing it didn't bite my child, or I'd be having words with you!" Old Hu's wife hadn't cooled down from the incident at the pier, and now this happened, adding fuel to the fire. She pointed at Wenjun and began to berate her.

Wenjun looked at Da Huang and said, "Sister Hao, everyone in the homeowner's group was notified about Da Huang coming on board before we even set sail, and Sister An agreed to it. Da Huang is usually very gentle. Nao Nao must have pulled on him, or he wouldn't have reacted so strongly."

Hao Jiening was immediately displeased. "So, you're blaming my Nao Nao?"

Bai Ma Shan knelt down to examine Da Huang, finding that it was just some fur that had been pulled out, with no serious injuries.

"Hey, Old Hu's family, look at what your child is holding in his hand—dog fur! It's a good thing this dog is well-behaved and didn't bite. If a big dog like this bites someone, even an adult would be in trouble. You're just taking advantage of the fact that the dog can't talk, turning black into white," Sun Jiaojiao said, spitting out a melon seed shell. She had no liking for the Old Hu family, who were always trying to get a bargain. Seeing her try to pass the buck to the property management, she immediately retorted sarcastically.

Lu Maowang chimed in, "Exactly. A mischievous kid like that is disliked by everyone, even dogs. They're much harder to manage than dogs."

"A dog, no matter how obedient, is still an animal. How can you compare it to a person? Your property management should have kept the dog on a leash," Old Hu's wife said, raising her voice when she saw that no one was on her side.

"Everyone saw it just now—your son went over to the dog on his own. There are so many people on this boat, why did the dog bark at your son specifically? Don't you have any idea?" Sun Jiaojiao didn't have children herself, but she had always wanted one. However, due to her husband's issues, she had been unable to conceive. Even though she longed for a child, she still couldn't stand such mischievous kids.

"Hu Sixiang! Your son almost got bitten by a dog, and you can't even say a word? Are you a turtle or something!" Hao Jiening shouted at her husband, who was standing at the back of the crowd.

Hu Sixiang had realized from the start that it was his child's fault, but Hao Jiening had been relentlessly unreasonable, stirring up trouble. She even called him a turtle in front of everyone. Enraged, he pushed through the crowd, walked over, and slapped his wife hard across the face.

Hao Jiening, realizing what had happened, started clawing at Hu Sixiang.

Everyone was shocked by this scene and rushed over to break up the fight.

As she scratched, Hao Jiening cursed, "I'll let you hit me, you coward! All you know is how to beat your wife and scold your kids. If you're so tough, why don't you go and be tough with outsiders? I'm cursed to be with you, ugh!"

Hu Sixiang covered his face and dodged, "Our kid has become like this because of you, you troublemaking woman! You've ruined a good kid! I work hard all day long to earn money, and you're just lazy and unfaithful at home! I'm hitting you because you deserve it!"

There was so much information in these words. As they tried to stop the fight, the crowd gossiped and finally managed to separate the two.

Hao Jiening covered her face, crying, and ran into the cabin, abandoning her wailing child.

From beginning to end, Zhao Di didn't try to stop them. Instead, she livestreamed the whole chaotic scene of the family pulling hair and fighting. Towards the end, she even chuckled softly, thinking that she had assumed the yacht would be all high-class, but it turned out to be a soap opera on the sea. The number of views would definitely be high today.

Bai Ma Shan looked at her and said, "Everyone is a neighbor. Don't film."

Seeing Hu Sixiang glaring at her, Zhao Di pouted and, with a face covered in what looked like two pounds of makeup, went to the stern of the boat to film something else.

"Oh my, you, as a husband and father, shouldn't hit your wife in front of everyone! Even if she's wrong, it's still wrong to hit someone. Look how scared you've made the child!" Teacher Lin quickly hugged the child and comforted him, saying, "Nao Nao, don't cry. How about you go with Grandma Lin to the second floor to watch the captain drive the boat?"

After the child was taken away, Grandpa Wang and a group of men began to give Hu Sixiang a lecture on proper behavior.

Hu Sixiang felt that he was right to teach her a lesson, and he stubbornly argued, "Don't bother saying all that. It's useless. You haven't been cuckolded, so of course, you can say these meaningless things. I'm not an unreasonable person, but Hao Jiening is flirting with other men too much. That's why I did that to her."

"Brother Hu, don't get so angry. Your job is special, and you're gone for a year or two at a time. Hao Jie is taking care of the house alone, and that's not easy. Things like buying rice and oil, she's hauling dozens of pounds of that stuff home, and sometimes when someone helps, it's normal. Don't misunderstand Hao Jie. Some things need to be communicated properly. Arguing and fighting only hurt feelings, don't solve any problems, and leave a shadow on Nao Nao," Jia Wenjun said, her voice gentle and firm, making it easy for people to listen.

Hu Sixiang stopped talking. Gong Dalong patted him on the shoulder and said, "Everyone came out here to have fun. It's all the same whether you spend the day happy or unhappy. The kid is so old already. You two shouldn't mess around. Couples should be understanding with each other. Everyone has their ups and downs. Just get over it."

"Don't think too much. Since you're on the boat, just enjoy the vacation. Come fishing with me later," Grandpa Wang said.

After listening to everyone's words, Hu Sixiang stopped talking. He had heard some rumors before, but there was no solid evidence. But he was still unhappy, because where there's smoke, there's fire. But men have to save face. As long as he hadn't caught her in bed with someone, he didn't want to admit it. Now, after hearing what everyone said, he began to think that he might have been too suspicious and thought about apologizing to his wife later.

The engine noise stopped, and the sudden silence made everyone turn their attention to the sea outside the boat.

Under the sunlight, the surface of the sea sparkled, and all that could be heard was the sound of seagulls and the gentle lapping of waves against the hull.

"We've arrived at our destination. Is everyone alright?" Anna asked excitedly as she came out of the cockpit. "Is anyone seasick? I completely forgot to tell everyone that we have seasickness pills."

"Sister An, your skills are so steady that no one is seasick," Lili said, flattering her.

"That's good." Anna didn't know what had happened earlier. She had been driving the boat the whole time, and Teacher Lin hadn't said anything about it when she took Nao Nao up there.

When everyone heard that they had arrived, they looked at the endless sea in confusion. This destination, reached after sailing for three or four hours, was just a vast expanse of ocean?

"This is the destination? It's no different from where we were earlier. Why did we have to sail so far to get here?" Sun Jiaojiao asked.

Anna said to everyone with a smile, "You don't understand, do you? This is a treasure trove of feng shui. A master personally chose this spot for me. After we return from here, I guarantee that everyone will have good luck."

Actually, as far as fishing at sea went, any location on the sea was the same to everyone. It was all a sea view anyway. They weren't paying for the fuel to sail so far, so it didn't matter to them where Anna decided to go.

"Sister An, so the boat is just going to float here?" Lu Maowang asked.

"That's right. From now on, we can start having fun. We'll start heading back tomorrow after lunch and be home before dinner."
