Chapter 9 Embarking, Part 2

Wang, the old gentleman, wasn't interested in the yacht. He started opening his box on the deck early, wiping his fishing rod, and checking his bait. Jia Wenjun glanced at this old gentleman, who had the highest vote for fishing, and, well, he was fully equipped for Taiwan fishing! This was for freshwater fishing, commonly known as the "old man's joy" fishing rod, a tool for killing time. It's okay to use this thing for fishing by the sea, but taking it to the vast sea is like Liangshanbo's strategist—useless.

The purchasing power of the office was firmly held by Gong Dalong. She had just looked at the food boxes the property had carried onto the ship. Besides alcohol, there were only pastries and fruits. He hadn't paid a penny for seafood.

If she couldn't catch a few fish by then and take good photos to report to headquarters, Gong Dalong would definitely push the responsibility onto her. Wenjun took a deep breath. Forget it, it's not worth getting angry with this kind of person. She has the skills; at worst, she'll put in more effort and catch more fish. Otherwise, with so many people for dinner, they might not even have enough to eat.

Just then, faint noises came from the trestle bridge not far from the shore. Jia Wenjun looked up and saw a couple walking towards the yacht with their child.

Wenjun looked at the three of them. The tall man had a bald head that gleamed from afar. The short woman reached the man's armpit, was a bit plump, wore a long floral dress, and had a large straw hat, looking every bit the vacationer. Behind them was a sturdy half-grown boy. Wenjun knew at a glance that this was the Lao Hu family. Once they boarded the ship, everyone for this trip would be accounted for.

As they approached, Wenjun could hear the couple arguing in the local dialect.

"Don't think I don't know the rotten things you've done, Hao Jiening. I don't want to say it today because the child is here. I'm saving face for you," Lao Hu huffed as he walked and cursed.

"Hu Sixiang, let me tell you, the reason I agreed to come with you and the child this time is to ease the conflict between us, but if you continue to talk nonsense like this, I won't go. I'm going back now!" Hao Jiening was furious with her husband for not saving her face in public.

"Go, go! Go if you want!" Lao Hu was furious, as if he was begging her to go.

Hao Jiening wanted to pull her son away, but Nao Nao was single-mindedly focused on getting on the boat to play. Seeing that they were almost at the big boat and being pulled back by his mother, he immediately sat on the ground and started throwing a tantrum: "I'm not leaving, I'm not leaving! I want to get on the boat and go out to sea!"

"Nao Nao, shut up!" Hao Jiening's inner annoyance and frustration erupted on her child.

Jia Wenjun, who saw this scene on the deck, felt a headache coming on. This relocated household was always arguing and threatening divorce, causing a ruckus for the neighbors. The property management had received complaints and had gone to mediate several times.

Seeing that Hao Jiening was about to hit the child, Jia Wenjun quickly got off the boat, pretending not to have heard their previous argument, and said with a smile, "Sister Hao, Brother Hu, everyone's waiting for you. Hurry up and get the child on board."

As she spoke, she reached out and pulled the child up from the ground. Seeing the child's aggrieved expression, she gave him a big dried plum lollipop. "Nao Nao, hurry up and get on the boat. There are lots of goodies up there."

Hearing that there were goodies, Nao Nao burst into tears and smiled, took the candy, and rushed onto the boat. Others who heard the argument also walked to the side of the boat, jokingly trying to mediate and urging the couple to get on board quickly.

The Lao Hu couple said they didn't want to go, but they were reluctant to give up this free sea trip. Now that everyone had extended an olive branch, no one was stupid. So, one after the other, they boarded the ship.

Everyone took a group photo on the deck—twelve adults, one child, and a dog. Everyone smiled and said "Cheese" in front of the camera, and complimented the captain, Anna.

After a series of horn blasts, the yacht slowly left the dock.

The movement of the boat marked the official start of the journey. Everyone was excited. Even Wenjun, who hadn't wanted to come originally, felt refreshed and comfortable looking at the vast blue sea.

Below the yacht's deck was a large storage room. The first floor had six double rooms, and the second floor had the cockpit and various instruments.

Captain Anna was steering the boat, heading northwest.

Today, the sea breeze wasn't strong, and the temperature was suitable. The sun shone diagonally on Anna's face. It must be said, Anna looked quite handsome driving the boat with sunglasses. Jia Wenjun hoped that one day she could have the leisure and money to buy a small boat so she could go out to sea to fish whenever she wanted.

Looking at the vast sea, she heard Zhao Di broadcasting live nearby. She turned around and walked to the stern of the boat, out of sight, out of mind. Forget about having money and leisure to buy a yacht; she should hurry up and pass the teacher's exam and leave this place.

The boat swayed, and a warm current, accompanied by the powerful surging sound of the Yamaha thrusters, ran through Jia Wenjun's entire body.

The boat finally sailed out of the harbor, and a white line of waves unveiled the blue veil of the sea. Jia Wenjun stood at the stern, looking at the gradually disappearing mainland, with the roaring sound of the waves in her ears.

"Little Jia, what are you looking at?"

Jia Wenjun turned her head and found that Bai Ma Shan had come to the stern of the boat without her noticing. The sound on the boat was too loud, and she hadn't heard him walking over.

"Just looking around. By the way, Brother Bai, have you seen Da Huang?" Jia Wenjun held onto the railing. She had just taken the Lao Hu family to their room and saw the dog with Bai Ma Shan, so she didn't pay attention. Now that she didn't see the dog by his side, she was worried that Da Huang would run around and damage things on the boat.

"It's having fun playing with Lao Hu's child," Bai Ma Shan pointed towards the cabin.

Jia Wenjun looked into the cabin. The child, who had just been crying, was now happily hugging Da Huang.

"Da Huang has a really good personality. If it's trained well from a young age, it might even become a guide dog."

"Really? I also think this dog is quite obedient." Whoever raises the dog loves it the most. Apart from the previous door-scratching incident, Jia Wenjun actually liked this dog quite a bit. It seemed to understand everything she said and could respond. She was also grateful for having it at home during this time, so she didn't feel so scared.

Bai Ma Shan said with a smile, "You're actually quite good at raising dogs. Many people are unwilling to raise dogs that others have raised, fearing that they won't be tamed or obedient, but now Xiao Huang is obviously very obedient and gets along well with you."

"Actually, sometimes I also find it difficult to figure out its temperament." Jia Wenjun still couldn't quite get over the key-snatching incident.

"This kind of thing can't be rushed; understanding takes time. In the future, you can often bring it to my place when you have time. I'll put it together with other dogs for unified training. If you really don't want to keep it one day, you can also leave it at my store."

Just as Jia Wenjun was about to speak, the yacht suddenly experienced a huge up-and-down jolt. Just as everyone was rushing to grab onto something sturdy, Da Huang's miserable cry suddenly came from the cabin.
