Chapter 532: There Was No Danger, Chelsea Got Three Points!

Chapter 532: Chapter 532: There Was No Danger, Chelsea Got Three Points!

The best option was to pass the ball to the unmarked Berahino as quickly as possible.

If Berahino received the ball, this attack would almost certainly result in a goal.

At this moment, Chelsea’s penalty area was in complete disarray.

No one had noticed Berahino’s presence.

But unfortunately, Mame Diouf made the wrong choice.

Instead of passing, he decided to go for it alone.

After a series of feints, he forced a shot.

And as expected—

The ball struck Azpilicueta and deflected away.

It eventually landed at Kante’s feet.

Kante, being an experienced player, reacted immediately.

Without hesitation, he passed the ball forward to Willian.

Willian used his pace to burst forward, instantly drawing the attention of Stoke defender Kevin Wimmer.

But instead of trying to dribble past him, Willian made a smarter decision.

He knew his limitations.

Beating Wimmer in a direct duel would be difficult.

So, he chose to pass.

His first pass was directed toward Pedro in the penalty area.

At the same time, Stoke’s other center-back, Geoff Cameron, stepped up to challenge Pedro.

Pedro, a product of La Masia, had full confidence in his footwork.

After all, he was once a key forward for Barcelona.

As soon as he controlled the ball, he made a quick move to change direction, hoping to dribble past Cameron.

But it was to no avail.

Geoff Cameron was highly focused and gave Pedro no space.

Using his body effectively, Cameron blocked Pedro’s path.

It was a smart move—his positioning was perfect.

This brief delay allowed Wimmer to step in as well.

Now, with two defenders closing him down, Pedro had little chance of breaking through.

And just like that, Chelsea’s attack collapsed.

The next moment, Wimmer successfully dispossessed Pedro.

Without wasting time, he immediately passed the ball to Fletcher in midfield.

Fletcher, being the key link between defense and attack, quickly looked for an outlet.

His decision was clear—

A direct pass to Berahino up front.

But unfortunately, time was running out.

Just as Berahino controlled the ball, Chelsea’s top defenders, Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill, swooped in.

They executed a well-timed challenge, stealing the ball from Berahino’s feet.

At that exact moment—

The referee blew the final whistle.

The match ended with a final score of 4-3.

Stoke City had come agonizingly close to equalizing, but in the end, luck was not on their side.
