Chapter 322: Chapter 324: Little maniac, are you ever going to stop?

"If you dare touch another woman, you’ll be worthless to me! Understand?"

Thomas Shannon was silent for a few seconds. His cold eyes, sharp enough to see through people, glanced at her. "Heh, are you threatening me?"

"No, I’m just informing you."

Sophie Sullivan proudly lifted her chin. "I have no interest in anything used by others."

So, if he still wanted to touch her, he wasn’t allowed to touch other women. Otherwise, he could forget about ever touching her again. It was the same principle with men and personal clothes. If something she used intimately was used by someone else, the thought alone was revolting. She despised it! And she certainly wouldn’t stoop to it!

Thomas Shannon didn’t comment. He buttoned his last cufflink and turned to leave.

Watching his back, Sophie grew uneasy. If she just let him go, who would ensure her safety? She had just had surgery on her face; she was vulnerable. If those two lunatics, Amelia Shaw and Minimus Hart, targeted her, she’d be finished! Thomas Shannon’s absence was when they would be at their most brazen.

As Thomas Shannon finished washing up inside the bath chamber and was about to leave, Sophie darted forward. She leaped onto his back, her arms wrapping tightly around his neck and her legs clamping firmly around his lean waist.

The momentum made Thomas Shannon stagger forward two steps. His handsome face darkened. "What are you doing? Get down!"

"I won’t get down! I want to be with you!"

Only this maniac could make such demanding words sound so perfectly justified!

Thomas Shannon slapped her raised buttocks twice with one hand. "I’ll say it one last time. Get down."

Sophie clung to his back like an octopus. "Thomas Shannon, if you dare leave me behind, I won’t be done with you! No, wait, *we’ll* be done!"

"Done? Are you sure?"

"Very sure!"

"Don’t you want your face treated? This was only the first surgery, and you’re already rebelling?"

Sophie: "..."

Having her lifeline controlled by someone else felt awful. Being at someone else’s mercy was even worse.

Sophie wilted, remaining silent.

Thomas Shannon frowned slightly. "You’re not fit to go."

"Then you can’t leave me here either! Who knows if Amelia Shaw will try something."

Thomas Shannon massaged his temples, a headache forming. "I’ll assign a bodyguard to watch you. Alright?"

Sophie thought for a moment, then shook her head vigorously. "No! I’ve thought about it, and I still think being by your side is the safest."

Perhaps she shook her head too forcefully. Her face suddenly throbbed with pain, and a low hiss escaped her lips, audible right beside his ear.

Thomas Shannon turned his head, his brow deeply furrowed. "What’s wrong?"

"It hurts... my face hurts so much..."

"Did you get your painkiller injection today?"

Sophie retorted irritably, "I just woke up! How would I have had time for that?"

"Then get down, and let the doctor give it to you," Thomas Shannon said, trying to pull her off.

Sophie tightened her grip around his neck, stubbornly insisting, "I’m not getting down unless you take me with you on your business trip."

"Maniac, are you ever going to stop?"

"Never!" Sophie craned her neck defiantly, retorting.

Thomas Shannon: "..."

If she weren’t practically a patient right now, he really wanted to give her a beating! She desperately needed to be disciplined!

When Thomas Shannon fell silent, Sophie started to feel her confidence waver. She suddenly softened her voice, her supple lips brushing almost imperceptibly against the skin of his neck. "Thomas Shannon, you can’t leave me behind... I’m scared."

Provoking Thomas Shannon wouldn’t do her any good. Showing weakness at the right time was essential.
