Chapter 1787: Chapter 1787: Don’t Blame Us for Turning Ruthless

“How did I get back that day?” Luo Ziling quietly asked while Luo Yuqing was helping him dry his hair.

“I’ll tell you later,” Luo Yuqing didn’t fulfill Luo Ziling’s wish but instead focused on drying his hair.

Seeing Luo Ziling wrapped in a bathrobe, Ling Ruonan fetched some clothes from the wardrobe for him to change into and then sat back beside him.

Seeing Ling Ruonan’s worried face, Luo Ziling smiled, “Mom, don’t worry. I’m strong. I just fainted from exhaustion that day. It’s not the first time it happened.”

“Sigh!” Ling Ruonan sighed, “Once your hair is dry, go downstairs and eat something first. We can talk after you’ve eaten.”

Luo Ziling nodded and smiled at Ling Ruonan, hoping she wouldn’t worry.

After drying his hair, Ling Ruonan and Luo Yuqing left the room first, allowing Luo Ziling to change clothes by himself.

After changing clothes, Luo Ziling walked out of the room.

Ling Ruonan still treated Luo Ziling as a patient, letting Luo Yuqing assist in helping him downstairs.

With a strong sense of maternal love, Luo Ziling truly felt it. From Ling Ruonan’s words and actions, the care and love from a mother that he always longed for were deeply felt, which warmed his heart greatly.

Upon coming downstairs, seeing Ouyang Feifei, Lin Lan, and Wuyue all looking worried and concerned, Luo Ziling decided he would pretend to be sick more often in the future.

Being cared for felt really nice.

As Luo Ziling came downstairs, Wuyue had already gone into the kitchen to prepare a big bowl of aromatic porridge for him.

Luo Ziling closed his eyes to take in the aroma, then smiled and said to Luo Liansheng, “Grandpa, you’ve put a lot of goodies in the porridge. You’re really giving me a big boost!”

“You do need a big boost,” Luo Liansheng laughed, “If not now, when? There are just two bowls of porridge. Eat this evening, and grandpa will cook more for you tomorrow.”

“I can’t finish such big bowls of porridge,” Luo Ziling shook his head, “My body might not handle it well, and I might get a nosebleed. How about you all share what’s left?”

Luo Ziling said this to the women.

After saying it, he emphasized, “It has beauty-enhancing effects.”

“Forget it; we won’t fight for food with a patient like you,” Luo Yuqing, speaking on behalf of the others, refused Luo Ziling’s offer, urging him, “Hurry up and eat. You’re looking thinner. Don’t make us worry, quickly get your strength back.”

Luo Ziling didn’t argue further. He obediently sat down and started eating the porridge.

He was indeed hungry and soon finished a large bowl of porridge.

After eating, his energy and spirit noticeably improved.

Warm food heated his body, sped up circulation, and improved his complexion.

“Could you tell me what happened that day?” Luo Ziling looked at Ling Ruonan and then at Luo Yuqing, “It shouldn’t be a secret, right?”

“After you defeated Yang Yunlin, he wanted to call in the bodyguards. Fortunately, Mrs. Chen and Qingyin strongly opposed it; Qingyin blocked the door, insisting they step over her if they wanted in. Seeing the situation wasn’t right, I called Lin and Wuyue. Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun came over immediately; they were already on their way to back you up. Eventually, they managed to get the unconscious you out.”

After saying this, Luo Yuqing glanced at Ling Ruonan, seeing her expression unchanged, and continued, “When getting you out, Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun clashed with them. Both sides drew their guns, though no shots were fired. There was a scuffle, and many were injured… but they got you out in the end.”

“So that’s what happened,” Luo Ziling was dumbfounded, “That really caused quite a stir.”

“Perhaps Yang Yuanshan intervened later; Yang Yunlin didn’t cause further trouble,” Ling Ruonan added, “The conflict between both sides just passed like that, without police involvement.”

Luo Ziling didn’t ask further. He planned to privately ask Luo Yuqing and Yang Qingyin; they would likely explain the conflict’s details to him.

Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun were involved in the conflict, so they knew the entire story well. Luo Ziling planned to find an opportunity to inquire about it. Whatever the reason, he needed to find out.

He also wanted to know how Yang Qingyin was doing, the state of Yang Qingye’s injury, and the Yang family’s situation.

It seemed Luo Yuqing knew what he was thinking and proactively talked about these things.

“Qingyin likely had a conflict with her father. Afterward, she didn’t go home but stayed at school. She came to see you several times while you were unconscious. An hour before you woke up, she was still here. Something must have happened at home, so she went back. I’ll let her know you’re awake so she won’t worry! Qingye ended up back in the hospital, as Mrs. Chen threatened her life. Grandpa treated him once in the afternoon; he should be fine.”

“After two more treatments, the poisoning should be fully resolved,” Luo Liansheng chimed in.

Ouyang Feifei, Lin Lan, and Wuyue sat quietly on the side. When Luo Ziling was talking with Luo Yuqing and Ling Ruonan, they didn’t speak. Luo Ziling didn’t inquire further about the Yang family matters but instead smiled at Ouyang Feifei and Lin Lan.

“Why did you all come here? I’m not in any serious condition. It’s alright; go about your business if you have any!”

“And you say you’re fine,” Ouyang Feifei glared at Luo Ziling with slight displeasure, “Your mom was worried sick, and even your grandpa was a bit panicked, afraid something might happen to you. If not for your grandpa’s skillful treatment, you’d probably be useless by now. You have no idea how scary it was!”

After pausing, Ouyang Feifei added, “Was it worth it?”

Hearing Ouyang Feifei’s question, Ling Ruonan and Luo Yuqing lowered their heads.

“Indeed, it was not worth the risk,” Luo Liansheng chimed in, “I didn’t realize Yang Yunlin was still so narrow-minded. And I suspect this was orchestrated by Yang Yunlin himself. If not him, then by someone beside him, with the purpose of striking a deadly blow to ruin you. Yang Yunlin should know that when you’re treating someone, you mustn’t be disturbed, or else things can go wrong.”

Luo Liansheng also said this, and Luo Ziling didn’t know how to respond, only remaining silent.

“Once Ling’er gets better, I will personally find Yang Yunlin and Yang Yuanshan to question them about this matter,” Ling Ruonan’s face showed a hint of coldness, and she spoke with a bit of gritted teeth, “We’ve never wronged them. We’ve been more than fair. If they continue treating us this way, they can’t blame us for being ruthless.”

Ling Ruonan’s harsh words sent a chill through Luo Ziling.

He knew that the chasm between him and Yang Qingyin was deepening after this incident.
