Chapter 1788: Chapter 1788: You Need to Think Carefully
Ouyang Feifei was the first to leave. As she left, she told Luo Ziling that she would come to see him again the next day.
After Ouyang Feifei left, Lin Lan also prepared to go back.
“The Chief knew you got injured and sent me over to check on you. It’s good that you’re alright,” Lin Lan said softly as she sat next to Luo Ziling before leaving. “Be more careful in the future. For things that don’t gain you much, think of an exit strategy beforehand. If necessary, you can call for our support.”
“In situations like this, there’s no way to call for your support,” Luo Ziling said with a bitter smile. “Alright, if there’s a real threat to my life, I will call for your help.”
“Take care of yourself first, don’t worry about my injuries for now,” Lin Lan gave a rare smile to Luo Ziling.
Wuyue saw Lin Lan out, and after seeing her off, she didn’t return, probably having other matters to arrange.
“Yuqing, you’ve also been exhausted these past few days. How about going back to rest early?” Ling Ruonan softly reminded upon seeing Luo Yuqing yawn while sitting there. “You’ve had a lot on your plate these days, and Ziling is out of the woods now. Go take care of your own things first. With me and his grandfather here, nothing will happen.”
After advising Luo Yuqing, Ling Ruonan also told Luo Ziling, “You’ve slept for nearly thirty hours, almost a whole night and day. When you were asleep, Yuqing stayed by your side the whole time without much rest.”
“Big Sis, thank you,” Luo Ziling smiled, thanking Luo Yuqing, and made a joke, “If you’re ever in need of care next time, I’ll stay by your bedside too.”
“You wish! You just cursed me to get sick,” Luo Yuqing was a bit exasperated, giving Luo Ziling a light kick. “Do you really want me to fall ill that much?”
“It doesn’t have to be getting sick; having a baby works too!” Luo Ziling grinned mischievously.
Luo Yuqing’s face flushed immediately, and she kicked Luo Ziling again before standing up, annoyed, “I’m not wasting time on you, I’m leaving now. Take good care of yourself.”
After saying goodbye to Ling Ruonan, Luo Yuqing sat at Luo Liansheng’s side, acting a bit spoiled, “Grandpa, Ziling loves to bully me, you should really teach him a lesson.”
“Hehe,” Luo Liansheng chuckled and agreed wholeheartedly, “I will. You go back now; you’ve been tired these past few days. Go home and rest early. Come over again tomorrow if you can.”
“I’ll come see you again tomorrow, Grandpa,” Luo Yuqing said and waved at Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan, running out of the living room, “I’m leaving, goodnight.”
Once Luo Yuqing ran out of the living room, the smile on Luo Liansheng’s face also disappeared. He looked seriously at Luo Ziling and solemnly said, “Ling’er, what happened that day has deepened the grudge between you and Yang Yunlin. He’s probably always been dissatisfied with you and cannot tolerate your existence. Think carefully about how to interact with the Yang Family yourself.”
Ling Ruonan also added, “Grandpa is right. We’ve been striving to resolve past grudges and have helped them repeatedly, only for this kind of outcome. They repay kindness with ingratitude time and time again. We were lucky that day. If Yang Xiaodong hadn’t taken decisive actions, your rescue might have been delayed. If anything happened to you, how would we cope? Since you’ve been in Yanjing for over half a year, threats from the Yang Family have occurred many times, and each time they’ve aimed at your life. After this incident, our conflict with Yang Yunlin has become irreconcilable. If he wants to tear things apart, don’t blame us for being impolite.”
Luo Ziling remained silent, uncertain of how to respond to Ling Ruonan’s words.
He understood that what happened likely stimulated Ling Ruonan; otherwise, she wouldn’t have spoken about such matters.
Having both his grandfather and Ling Ruonan share the same sentiment made Luo Ziling feel quite frustrated, even a bit miserable.
Fortunately, Ling Ruonan didn’t say much more. Seeing that he looked a bit fatigued, she urged him to get some rest.
After returning to his room, Luo Liansheng treated him again.
Before the treatment ended, Luo Ziling fell into a deep sleep and didn’t wake up until daylight.
When he awoke the next day, it was already past eight o’clock.
Ling Ruonan had gone to work. These past two days, she stayed by Luo Ziling’s side and didn’t go to the company.
Northern Group couldn’t do without her; there were many matters waiting for her to handle, and she also needed to negotiate cooperation issues with Koizumi Miyaning.
The night when Luo Ziling had his incident, she was hosting Koizumi Miyaning for dinner, but before they even started, she received a call from Wuyue and had to apologize to Koizumi Miyaning and leave hastily.
Afterward, Wuyue explained the situation to Koizumi Miyaning in person. Upon hearing that Luo Ziling fell unconscious due to excessive physical exertion while treating someone, Koizumi Miyaning didn’t blame Ling Ruonan or Luo Ziling. He even wanted to visit, but Ling Ruonan declined.
With Luo Ziling no longer in serious trouble, her neglected work needed resumption, and talks with Koizumi Miyaning would continue. Ling Ruonan knew that if the collaboration with the Koizumi Family succeeded, Northern Group’s venture into Japan would be greatly secured.
This was a win-win collaboration, and leveraging this cooperation with the Koizumi Family presented an opportunity to achieve other goals, potentially earning substantial national benefits. Therefore, Ling Ruonan didn’t want to miss this opportunity.
Since Luo Ziling couldn’t handle the talks with Koizumi Miyaning, she had to take the lead.
She even considered a necessary trip to Tokyo.
Today, Luo Yuqing would come to accompany Luo Ziling, and with Luo Liansheng at home, Ling Ruonan felt at ease leaving.
When Luo Ziling woke up, Luo Yuqing was already there.
Not only her; Yang Qingyin accompanied her as well.
Yang Qingyin had learned from Luo Yuqing the previous night that Luo Ziling had woken up.
She immediately messaged Luo Ziling but received no reply.
Thus, she hardly slept last night, checking her phone frequently.
This morning, still seeing nothing from Luo Ziling, she contacted Luo Yuqing.
After they connected, they arranged to visit Luo Ziling together. Upon arriving, they asked Luo Liansheng and learned that Luo Ziling had fallen asleep during treatment and hadn’t woken up in between, easing Yang Qingyin’s worries.
Hearing movement from Luo Ziling’s room, Yang Qingyin and Luo Yuqing knocked and entered.
“How are you, Junior?” Yang Qingyin walked into Luo Ziling’s room first, quickly approaching him with concern, “Yesterday when I left, you hadn’t woken up yet. Later, after hearing from Yuqing that you woke up, I quickly messaged and called you, but you didn’t respond.”
Seeing the tiredness on Yang Qingyin’s face, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but feel a bit pained, “Senior, I’m sorry. I didn’t check my phone yesterday. After having some porridge and my grandfather treating me, I just fell asleep and only woke up just now.”
Luo Yuqing glanced at Luo Ziling and then at Yang Qingyin, eventually letting out a helpless sigh, “Alright, I’ll step out for now. You two can feel free to chat intimately, or even share some affectionate moments.”
Saying that, she didn’t wait for a response and stepped out.
