"How are these labor robots obtained? I'd like to have one too."
Lu Heng stared intently at the agricultural robot's body structure. This robot, lacking skin or excessive metal casing, was as simple as could be, offering great help in studying robot construction.
"These robots are not sold to the public."
"What happens if a robot breaks down?"
Iron Man One paused for several seconds, its mechanical voice speaking again, "In the waste disposal area, there are many scrapped robots."
"Take me to see them later."
"We cannot enter there; it is also a restricted area."
It seemed he still needed to find a way to obtain high-level access here, otherwise, there were many places he couldn't enter.
Lu Heng flew back into the air again, observing how the robots operated.
It was unclear how long this place had been abandoned by aliens, yet the areas that were not damaged continued to function normally, with various plants being tended to by robots.
Lu Heng saw some robots collecting ripe fruits and loading them into a transport vehicle.
The vehicle would be transported away via a pre-embedded conveyor belt below.
After such a long time, the crops here had been continuously harvested. He wondered how much was accumulated in the granaries and if these plants would spoil.
As long as Lu Heng did not ask, the two robots following behind him would not speak to him proactively.
They were unlike the robots Lu Heng discovered in Country Y; those that had achieved intelligence were different from cold, unthinking robots.
However, robots with self-awareness were truly a danger to living beings.
Finally, Lu Heng collected some of the various plants here. Although he wasn't sure if humans could eat them,
he, accustomed to collecting all sorts of supplies, felt he couldn't leave empty-handed.
He didn't know how long he had been busy here, and Lu Heng decided to go back and check.
However, when returning to the space from the space city, the two robots behind him saw the Xena alien lying on the ground outside, and their emotions fluctuated.
They actually spoke to Lu Heng proactively.
"Master, these are Xena aliens. Why are they all dead?"
"There was an accident."
"They can be treated!" Iron Man One walked towards the pile of corpses.
"Perhaps there weren't the conditions at the time. When I found these bodies, they were already like this."
Lu Heng didn't explain much to the robots. He had dug these alien corpses out of the ground himself.
However, it was certain that these aliens were indeed dead.
Living beings he could bring into his space had to have a contractual relationship with him.
"His wound..." Iron Man Two looked at a corpse on the ground and recognized it as a fatal wound inflicted by a robot.
But it only started to speak and didn't continue.
Lu Heng looked at this bodyguard robot. It should be equipped with such a lethal weapon.
"Will you kill me?"
Lu Heng had already established a master-servant relationship with these two robots. Under normal circumstances, Xena alien robots were incapable of killing their masters.
"No. We have been programmed with two directives: not to harm Xena aliens and not to harm contractors."
"If you harbored murderous intent towards me, or if you killed me, what penalty would you face?"
"Self-destruction. My brain would be burned." Iron Man Two stated emotionlessly.
"Is there any possibility of robots changing their programming?"
"I don't know." After a pause, Iron Man Two finally replied to Lu Heng.
"Later, you will write down your programs and command sequences."
Of course, they wrote in Xena language, but Lu Heng already had a dictionary, so understanding it wouldn't be too difficult.
As he passed a robot lying flat nearby, its power cut off, Lu Heng stopped again.
"This robot seems to be broken. Can you repair it?"
"Master, broken robots are sent to the waste disposal area. Usable parts are dismantled, and the rest are melted down to create new robots."
"Why dismantle parts? Aren't all broken ones sent for disposal?"
"Not entirely. Some minor issues that can be fixed with replacement parts are repaired."
"Can you repair them?"
"Robot programming dictates that robots cannot repair robots."
Huh, there's such a rule?
Given the technology here, the robot manufacturers should also be robots. Why would they specifically write such a rule?
Lu Heng was somewhat puzzled.
Lu Heng placed the two robots in his space city.
Lu Heng did not want them to be revealed to the public for the time being, as only a few people knew about them.
Returning to Nameless City, Lu Heng intended to find Lin Yu to inquire about the situation of the personnel who had encountered trouble in Luocheng.
Just as he exited the building, he met Lin Yu returning.
"Hey, Brother Lu, are you going out?"
"I was just looking for you."
"Alright, I'll go change. I just went to the planting base with them, and a vegetable exploded, getting all over me."
Lu Heng then looked at Lin Yu.
To appear more composed, Lin Yu always wore black clothing in Nameless City. If not looked at closely, one wouldn't notice the slightly darker black patches on Lin Yu's clothes.
"You go change, and I'll go back to my room and wait for you."
Patting Lin Yu on the shoulder, Lu Heng walked upstairs.
While waiting for Lin Yu on the sofa, Lu Heng took out the Xena alien data and began to review it.
There were still many things he didn't understand, and Lu Heng needed to keep learning.
He picked up the same serious attitude he had with his medical textbooks back then and studied diligently.
"Brother Lu, I'm here."
After an unknown amount of time, Lin Yu had changed his clothes and likely showered as well.
When conditions allowed, Lin Yu had requirements for his quality of life.
"Come in."
After sitting down, Lin Yu looked at the laptop in front of Lu Heng.
"I'm also studying this, but some parts are still very difficult to understand."
"Yes, it's necessary to study. By the way, I have something novel to show you."
Lin Yu looked at Lu Heng curiously. He had said he was looking for him for something, could it be that he had discovered something interesting again?
Lu Heng always brought him surprises. Since meeting Lu Heng, everything Lu Heng had shown him had overturned his understanding and repeatedly refreshed his perception of the world. Read 138.
With a wave of his hand, Lu Heng brought out the two robots from his space.
"What is this?" Lin Yu had never seen robots before. The broken one Lu Heng had found in his space earlier, he had never shown to anyone.
Nor had he shown the ones brought back from Country Y to anyone.
He had always considered these things dangerous, and without complete understanding, he did not intend to let the people in the apocalypse see them.
