Where can I get peaches

Chapter 214 Peach Blossom Spring

There are many legends about the Peach Blossom Garden in Jiangcheng.

Some say it was land purchased by a boss from Hong Kong to develop as a retirement community, but he rarely came, so it fell into disrepair over time.

Some say it was a project initiated by a corrupt official, which was abandoned after his arrest.

Others say it was originally intended as a tourist attraction by the previous administration, but the project was shelved after their reassignment.

In short, there are all sorts of theories.

And today, Liu Nanfeng drove, with Little Carp in tow, to this very place.

Little Carp peered out of the car window, looking curiously at the surrounding scenery. She had felt a little unfamiliar on the journey, but as they approached the Peach Blossom Garden, she finally sensed a hint of familiarity.

"I think I've been here before," Little Carp said in surprise.

"Not just think, you have been here. This is the Peach Blossom Garden."

"Peach Blossom Garden?"

Little Carp remembered. Lots and lots of peach blossoms, and of course, plenty of peaches. She recalled an incident when a peach fell from a tree and hit her on the head, making her cry out.

"Yes, do you remember now?" Liu Nanfeng stopped the car in front of the Peach Blossom Garden.

This place was far from the city, sparsely populated, with even some farmland around.

However, transportation was quite convenient, with cement roads crisscrossing the area.

Liu Nanfeng got out of the car and took a look. He noticed quite a few tire tracks in front of the entrance, suggesting that the place wasn't entirely deserted.

Looking up at the two heavy, brass-riveted gates of the Peach Blossom Garden, they were tightly shut, showing signs of rust, and secured by a large iron chain.

Above the gates was a plaque with the words "Peach Blossom Garden" inscribed on it. The calligraphy was delicate yet grand, likely the work of Zhu Yin'e.

"Little Carp, come down quickly." Liu Nanfeng called to Feng Hongjin, who was still wiggling her backside as she climbed down.

Liu Nanfeng finally decided to continue calling her Little Carp. One shouldn't forget their roots, and since her name was also Hongjin, Little Carp seemed more fitting.

"Okay." Little Carp got out of the car and then carefully stepped onto the ground. Nothing happened, and she breathed a sigh of relief.

Then, she happily trotted with her short legs towards Liu Nanfeng.

But she suddenly stopped, looking down at the ground. The solid cement floor had been imprinted with shallow craters by her steps.

"Oh..."

Little Carp felt a little sad and a bit flustered.

"It's alright, it doesn't matter," Liu Nanfeng walked over, scooped her up, and closed the car door.

Little Carp hadn't fully adjusted to her greatly increased strength, and a slight carelessness could cause significant damage.

This was also why he hadn't let Gugu come out to play with her, fearing she might accidentally injure Gugu.

"Sigh..."

The little one rested her chin on her hands, sighing with a worried expression that was rather amusing.

"Come now, children shouldn't look so glum. You'll get used to it gradually."

Liu Nanfeng said this as he carried her to the main gate.

He then set her down, took out the key Zhu Yin'e had given him, and prepared to open the gate.

Seeing the chain was thick and long, Little Carp instinctively reached out and gave it a tug. With a creaking sound, the link connecting the chain snapped open with a large gap.

Alright, now they wouldn't need the lock, and the chain could be removed directly.

Little Carp, however, was startled and quickly withdrew her hand.

"It's fine," Liu Nanfeng said with a smile.

He still unlocked the gate, then used his strength to force the broken link back together.

If an ordinary person had witnessed their inhuman feats, they would likely have been terrified.

As the gate creaked open, the scenery within came into view.

"Wow, so many peaches!" Little Carp's eyes widened with surprise and delight.

It was almost September, the season for ripe peaches.

Little Carp darted in, her face full of joy.

She hadn't been here for so long, almost long enough to forget.

Liu Nanfeng followed her in, and as he did, he casually closed the gate behind him. Then, he began to curiously examine the surroundings.

Actually, it wasn't entirely accurate to say the place was unmanaged, as Zhu Yuchan would visit periodically to clean and perform minor maintenance. Otherwise, not only would the facilities decay, but they might also be vandalized.

Even so, the paths were still covered in fallen leaves and weeds, making the ground feel soft underfoot.

However, this was perfect for Little Carp, who didn't have to worry about damaging the ground.

She was now standing under a large peach tree, tilting her head back to look at the peaches on the branches. Since she couldn't reach them, she puffed out her cheeks and blew upwards with all her might, trying to blow the peaches down.

"You little silly goose, how can you blow peaches down like that?" Liu Nanfeng said, feeling a mixture of amusement and exasperation.

"Wuwuwu, I can't spray water anymore," Little Carp said dejectedly, as if her life had turned bleak.

Originally, Little Carp's unique water-spraying ability had been a signature of hers. After she transformed into a Kunpeng, she found she could no longer spray a perfect stream of water; all that came out were misty droplets.

"Kun can also spray water. You're just not used to it yet," he said, reaching out to pick a large peach for her.

Little Carp happily took it, then opened her mouth and took a bite of the peach. A large cloud of mist floated in the air, dampening the peach in her hand.

"Wash it clean, so you don't get sick," Little Carp chirped merrily.

"Let's go, we'll explore further inside," Liu Nanfeng said, walking towards the path hidden by the weeds.

Little Carp, still holding her peach, quickly followed behind.

However, she was soon distracted by a fallen peach branch on the ground.

She ran over, picked it up, and began waving it in her hand.

"Hiyah, hiyah, watch my power."

Wielding the branch, she imagined herself as powerful as her mother, and then poked Liu Nanfeng's behind.

"Ouch."

Seeing her mischievousness, Liu Nanfeng reached out, intending to tap her head.

"I'm not afraid of you," Little Carp said defiantly.

Then she turned and ran, her short legs moving swiftly like a corgi's, parting the grass and rushing forward.

Liu Nanfeng chased after her, pretending to be just barely able to catch her, playfully scaring her.

He continued to shout and exclaim, which made Little Carp even more anxious. She wished she had wings to fly high into the sky. And then, she actually grew a pair of wings. She suddenly transformed into a Peng bird and soared into the sky.

"De—"

She let out a long cry. Although her cry was immature, it was deep and powerful, carrying very far.

The Peach Blossom Garden, which had been filled with the chirping of insects and birds, suddenly fell silent, becoming eerily quiet, as if struck by immense fear. Everyone held their breath.

However, after flying into the sky, Little Carp, upon realizing what had happened, panicked. She forgot how to flap her wings and plummeted straight down from the sky.

Liu Nanfeng quickly stepped forward and caught her.

Looking at the fluffy little creature, there was no trace of the majestic cry she had just emitted; she was round and incredibly cute.

Little Carp struggled in Liu Nanfeng's hands and landed on the ground, transforming back into her human form.

Then, she clutched her chest and said with lingering fear, "You scared little fish to death."
