"She knows the landlord and has known them for years. What you're worried about won't happen," Jiang Ziyu retorted crisply, annoyed by his clamoring.
Di Mingjue was at a disadvantage the entire evening. Seeing Jiang Ziyu's extreme impatience towards him, and recalling how readily she had smiled at a stranger, his heart filled with jealousy and dissatisfaction.
"Qianqian is my most treasured child. To prevent such a thing from happening, I will be staying at the house frequently during this period."
"Whatever."
Jiang Ziyu didn't want to argue with him. She wasn't willing to expend her energy fighting over such a trivial matter.
Although she agreed, her perfunctory attitude only fueled Di Mingjue's anger.
The drive back was silent. They sat in the car, enveloped by a thick, palpable tension.
Di Residence.
Two cars pulled up to the entrance of the Di residence simultaneously from different directions.
Jiang Ziyu poked her head out of the window, catching a glimpse of the license plate of the car opposite. The numbers flashed in her mind, and she muttered, "Is that Jiang Wenbin's car?"
As the question arose, the driver of the opposite car alighted. He opened the rear door, and Jiang Feifei emerged.
It was indeed Jiang Wenbin's car, but the occupant was not him.
Jiang Ziyu unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of her car. She walked towards Jiang Feifei, feigning surprise, "You actually dare to show up here? Aren't you afraid Di Dongsheng's wife will tear your face apart?"
The embarrassing scene flashed vividly in her mind, and Jiang Feifei, her face contorted, glared at Jiang Ziyu with hatred. "You don't need to worry about me. You should worry about yourself."
"Worry about myself?" Jiang Ziyu crossed her arms, pondering seriously. "True, the Jiang residence is a large house. I won't be able to live in it all by myself in the future. It seems I need to find time to list the house with a real estate agency and let them find a good owner for it."
"What are you thinking? Does the Jiang residence have anything to do with you?" Jiang Feifei scoffed coldly.
Jiang Ziyu made exaggerated facial expressions and said to her, "You don't know yet?"
Jiang Feifei was stumped by her question.
"The name on the property deed for the Jiang residence is mine, so of course, I have the right to deal with the house. As for you, stop clinging to other people's husbands. Consider finding a better place to live. Don't end up sleeping on the streets after I sell the house," Jiang Ziyu reminded her with feigned kindness.
Hearing that the house belonged to her, Jiang Feifei could hardly believe her ears.
After some thought, she concluded that Jiang Ziyu was lying to her.
Unwilling to show her disbelief, Jiang Ziyu didn't act like she did with Xu Jingya, even offering to show her the property deed. Instead, she just smiled and let her believe what she wanted.
"Oh, right. Di Dongsheng isn't here, so your purpose will likely be in vain again," Jiang Ziyu said, turning to go back for Qianqian and Di Mingjue.
Jiang Feifei behind her stomped her foot in anger. She glared at Jiang Ziyu, wishing she could tear her apart and throw her into the trash.
Returning to their side, Jiang Ziyu smiled and pushed Di Mingjue into the courtyard.
Jiang Feifei stood at the entrance, her heart filled with hesitation. She had actually come to see Di Dongsheng. After their call ended that morning, she had deleted his message, and when she tried to contact him again, she couldn't get through.
Thinking to try her luck at the Di residence, she was surprised to run into Jiang Ziyu so coincidentally. Cocking her head to peer inside, and not trusting Jiang Ziyu, she resolutely decided to try.
As soon as she entered the courtyard, the sliding door of the front hall was opened. Zhao Yanxia emerged from within, looking flustered, a bucket of water in her hand.
Just as Jiang Feifei was about to offer an explanation, Zhao Yanxia splashed the dirty kitchen water from the bucket onto her.
The foul water drenched her from head to toe; not a single part escaped.
"You still dare to come!" Zhao Yanxia, still seething, threw the bucket at her as well.
