Chapter 747: Chapter 447 Why Did the Phone Suddenly Shut Down Last Night
Ivy Miller rolled her eyes, black as night, thinking he didn’t see it, but he caught it clearly.
"What, are you really unhappy with what I said?"
"It’s not that I’m unhappy, I just think you’re taking it too seriously when you say I’ve been messing around.
Really, today was a coincidence, I haven’t been to places like that in ages.
I wasn’t lying to you before, everything I said when I was in the military was true."
"And you also said that when I retire, you’d cook for me and the kids.
Don’t you claim to be quite a good cook?"
Ivy Miller immediately pursed her lips and looked at him guiltily, wasn’t she just boasting back then?
Who knew he’d return so soon, she had planned to learn how to cook.
But she doesn’t like cooking when she’s by herself, because it’s too much trouble.
If he’s really going to live at home with her, she’d learn, for sure.
"I’ll learn, once you’re truly retired and back, I’ll definitely be at chef level."
"As if I’d believe that," he shot her a glance and turned to continue walking.
Ivy Miller stuck out her tongue and quickly chased after him: "Sir, give it to me, I’ll carry it."
"It’s heavy."
"No worries, no worries, I’ve got plenty of strength."
Henry Sullivan indeed let go, and as the heavy bag pressed into her palm, her body bent forward.
Wow, it really is heavy.
If it’s so heavy, how could he just let go, that’s just mean.
Seeing her standing there motionless, Henry Sullivan walked a few more steps before turning back to pick up the bag again: "Stop trying to be tough next time."
Ivy Miller nodded, feeling really frustrated.
Back home, Henry Sullivan went into the kitchen himself, sorted the vegetables and meat, and started cooking.
In just under half an hour, four dishes and a soup were ready.
Smelling the delicious aroma, Ivy Miller suddenly felt hungry.
Once Henry Sullivan sat down at the table, she hurried over and sat down too.
"It smells so good, sir."
"Go get the rice," Henry Sullivan handed her two bowls.
"Yes, sir," Ivy Miller happily went to serve the rice, she couldn’t just eat and drink for free, this was her way of contributing to the effort.
Ivy Miller tried his cooking, and truly realized for the first time that there are men in this world who can cook so deliciously.
"Sir, when did you learn to cook? This food is really unrivaled, it’s too delicious."
"Just when I joined the military, after having the same canteen food for years, I got bored and started experimenting with cooking myself."
Ivy Miller gave him a thumbs up: "You’re amazing, definitely the best man I’ve ever known."
Henry Sullivan raised an eyebrow, quite pleased with her flattery.
"Sir, if you retire and come back, you should cook for me and the kids every day. I feel like I could eat this for a lifetime."
This made Henry Sullivan’s grip on his chopsticks pause slightly, then he calmly said: "Didn’t you say you were going to learn to cook?"
Ivy Miller scratched her brow: "I meant, even if I learn, I won’t reach your level."
She figured it’s best to flatter a man, not provoke him.
Henry Sullivan gave her a sidelong glance: "Enough, cut the nonsense, what’s exactly in that little head of yours? Can’t you ever give people peace of mind?"
This sounded just like what her dad would say: "How am I causing you worry."
He wouldn’t hold on to the fact she went bar-hopping for the rest of her life, would he?
"Then tell me, why did you say those weird things last night and suddenly shut off your phone?"
