Chapter 145: New magic concept
It will be edited soon.

"Mass distribution?" Hardrial looked at the magic, slightly confused. He didn’t understand what it meant, but since it was a request made by the one who created this magic, he did it.
The bullet soon shot out of his hand. Despite the strong winds battering the area, the bullet quickly approached the target rock and was soon firmly embedded in it.
It didn’t slow down too much despite the distance being slightly considerable and despite the winds being tremendous in this area.
It didn’t carry much power by the time it reached the rock, but it was enough to stick slightly and not fall off.
Louis nodded, smiling softly.
This was a success.
He grabbed the piece of rock that had been shot. It crumbled in his hand, but he was satisfied.
"Correct distribution, sufficient power, and a wide variety of variables to create."
Hardrial arrived behind him. "What is this distribution you speak of?" he said, expanding the magical protection around the area so that the gales would not disturb him.
"Almost everything in this world has mass, you know?"
"Yes. It’s physics."
"It’s the same with magic. They have a certain amount of mass, depending on the magic. So the mass distribution is just the amount of mass that the magic created has in its entire body. That ’attack’ distributed in 50-20-30 should have greater power with a greater amount of mass in certain areas."
For example, in this case, magic has a very strong side, a weak side, and a side with medium strength. But it is constructed in the shape of a bullet, with the peculiarity of having a belt of earth in the middle. The actual 50-20-30 ends up being a 50-40-30 or 50-50-30, which dramatically increases the power of the first part of the magic, simply by increasing the mass in one area (the central area). That is why, despite the power of the wind and the low power with which it was fired, it was able to stick firmly to this rock.
It did not pierce it because the last part is weaker, but it fulfilled its function correctly to the right place. That is what I mean by mass distribution. The greater and more correct the mass distribution, the more power, in the same thing. That is why it is important to take it into account.
Hardrial frowned. "I see. You’re right," he thought.
He didn’t know why he hadn’t noticed it, even though he was more or less aware of it in his subconscious. But now that he looked at it from this point of view, he understood magic better in some cases.
Furthermore, he immediately realized that if he had taken this into account when passing the 79th floor, he could have completed it. After all, this distribution of magic is not something that simply occurs at level 1 or 2.
All magic is the same; all magic has mass because it comes from an element. So, if he could understand the distribution of a spell’s mass, he could change it with slight adjustments, creating new important variables that would increase its total power.
It was a new concept that he had never thought of before, and he was sure that no one else in the magical world had thought of it either. At least not in the underworld where they lived.
This could be sent to the Society of Wizards, registering the discovery/invention in the name of any local wizard, and he would surely be called upon to receive awards that would position him as one of the best wizards in the world.
After all, it was a new concept that strengthened all magic!
How did someone who was just starting out in this world of magic come up with it? Had he really been deceiving them all this time and was he a thousand-year-old man who had only come on a whim to take classes? Some kind of god or something?
It wasn’t that complicated, really.
Louis was simply thinking about a black hole when it occurred to him.
Black holes are massive, but tiny (for their mass). Being able to contain massive amounts of mass in such a small point, couldn’t something similar be done with magic?
Then he simply tried it, and seeing that it was a success in his first attempts, he decided to use it from now on.
The thing is, while doing so, he realized one thing: the laws of magic prevented him from increasing the magic of something beyond a certain limit, which basically depended on the level of magic.
This made sense, but he had no idea what kind of law was at work here, so he couldn’t think of any alternatives or anything.
Still, he also found something else. The fact that the threads only moved in basic directions didn’t seem like a coincidence.
All the magic here was... complex, but strangely simple.
It was simple because it seemed very linear. Too simple. Too much "do this" and nothing else.
The complexity simply lay in understanding it, but little by little it became easier to understand, which was curious.
And all this was because the threads simply go in the same direction. They are linear.
When faced with something linear, everything that arises from it will always be simple and linear.
Thanks to understanding this, he began to understand magic more easily. And precisely because of this, he was now able to understand that concept.
While both were deep in thought, they suddenly heard a gunshot, and then Laura came into view.
"I know you have a lot to think about, but..." She was holding her huge rifle to her chest to defend herself from enormous claws that were trying to attack her. "Could you give me a hand? These guys are pretty powerful, and there are some snakes running around your feet."
Hardrial immediately aimed down and fired numerous shots in quick succession, killing several snakes that were trying to climb up his thighs.
They hadn’t really noticed them.
Meanwhile, Louis pulled out his revolver and fired at the beasts in front of him.
There was only one, but behind him came about 15 more.
’Tsk.’ Louis ducked to dodge the attack of one of them, a snake. Then, from below, he aimed upward and fired, splitting it in half.
When the head fell to the ground, another shot shattered it.
In a moment, they all started running to one side and tried to kill, but Louis and Laura could only watch helplessly as all these beasts died in a few seconds.
"God... the professor is certainly powerful. Thirty shots in less than ten seconds?" Laura was stunned by such absurd speed.
Louis simply smiled. The professor killed them using his level 2 magic, which is why he needed more bullets than usual, but it was interesting to see how effective his magic was against these beasts.
"Damn, I’m excited," he thought, and after that minor setback, they began learning magic once again.
Their time in that place (2) ended when they had learned new spells. Louis still refused to cast level 3 spells, even though he was technically able to.
Soon they began climbing again.
"The heat is coming and breathing could become difficult, so be careful," said Hardrial, as he gave them some special masks to withstand this type of environment.
The top of the mountain looked like a forest fire. They walked on fire, but it wasn’t as powerful against them because of their high resistance. Still, this place felt a little spicy.
In addition, this place was a huge hole at the top, and there was a huge rock inside it.
"That’s the largest meteorite rock that has ever fallen here, and somehow it fell straight down, so it only affected the mountain in that way."
The mountain looked like a volcano, with lots of fire burning that didn’t seem to go out, even though there was nothing to burn there.
"It was done on purpose, right?" Louis asked.
"Yes." Hardrial nodded. "It was probably done by one of the great magicians for some experiment. Well, it doesn’t matter." He smiled and looked at the surroundings around the rock.
"We’ll be training here. This time it will only be fire," he said, and then proceeded to explain other things about the place, about magic, about how they were going to train and learn new spells, etc.
Nothing new for either of them.
They wasted no time and began to study.
Fire magic was the easiest for Louis to understand. Earth magic was interesting, wind magic was a little boring, and water magic was very interesting with many variables and intense versatility.
But fire magic was the easiest for him to understand, so he quickly learned several spells. This time, he didn’t delve any deeper.
This seemed strange to Hardrial. He took his free time to... rest?
Seeing Louis lying on an extremely hot rock with only a rag between him and the rock, staring passively at the sky, left him deeply stunned.
He didn’t know if he was really resting or if he was simply planning something.
Or maybe Hardrial was just becoming paranoid about Louis...
’Yes, maybe that’s it.’ He sighed and let him rest.
Meanwhile, Louis stared at the sky. He seemed lost in thought.
