Chapter 142: Healing Spell

Chapter 142: Healing Spell

"Shhh, take a deep breath and close your eyes. Don’t think of the pain, I know it’s your first time so I’ll finish this as fast as possible." I comforted Zephyr while holding his hand firmly.

He seemed to be really moved by my words. I could see it in how he looked at me like looking at a corpse.

His face twitched in disgust as he yelled: "You bastard! Just do what you want quickly, I have a spar with that golden filthy bird!"

[Did he just call me filthy?]

Glutton’s voice came suddenly as I responded inwardly: ’Glutton, you aren’t golden.’

[I have a heart of gold!]

I ignored Glutton and chuckled: "You will lose," then I decided to annoy him even more as I said: "Again."

Before he could curse my ancestors, I used a small wind cleave to make a precise cut on his wrist before attaching a pen to his vein, using his blood as ink by manipulating it.

As expected, he didn’t even flinch. And they call me indifferent to pain!

"Now channel your Aether, I’ll start!"

"Don’t shout in my ear!"

Zephyr infused his blood with eclipse Aether, then I used it to inscribe runes on an arrow.

I was simply making physical eclipse arrows as artifacts instead of elemental ones with Night Terror. That way, I’d get a free spell slot to choose something else.

The method of using someone’s blood to make artifacts was used once by Gilbert in the land of challenges. I liked it so I searched about it in the library. Fortunately, it wasn’t hard to learn.

I just needed the owner of the blood to cooperate. So now, we were sitting in the bed of my room as I decided to make the most of his blood.

After a few minutes, I finished the first arrow as I moved it away. "Here is the first arrow."

Instantly, Selene brought another arrow in front of me before returning to the bed and observing us sharply.

I continued enchanting arrow after the other, making sure that Selene would see clearly all the processes.

She also had a talent in artificery, but not as good as me, so observing me could help her improve. She was currently free anyway because she also wanted to skip the artificery class like me.

"Hey, I wanted to ask," Zephyr suddenly spoke, "Where do you sleep? I know for sure that you won’t sleep on the couch or the ground."

I was a little confused by his question. If he knew, then wouldn’t the answer be obvious?

I answered indifferently: "In the bed. Why are you even asking?"

His arm suddenly tensed as he whispered: "And where does Selene sleep?"

Oh, I knew where that was going, I wasn’t naive to not understand. That bastard was dirty minded!

I answered honestly: "She sleeps beside me, and don’t you dare say it!"

He glanced at her, then at me and kept repeating this until his eyes opened widely. "How the fuck did you do that! Is that the real reason you want to skip your class?" Then he wiped an imaginary tear as he whispered: "Son, I’m really proud of you. You finally got a girlfriend, and without my help."

I stayed calm and didn’t respond. I knew that whatever I’d say at this point would make everything worse. It was better to ignore him.

But all of a sudden, Selene shouted with a blush on her face: "We-We didn’t do anything, and I’m not his girlfriend!"

I let out a sigh, realising that the misunderstanding just became worse.

Was that how the protagonists felt when they were misunderstood with almost all the girls?

Selene didn’t just falter but also blush. Why the hell would she blush while saying this? Wait, since when could she even blush?!

Before Zephyr could say anything else, I cast a wind barrier around his head, stopping all the shit he was trying to say.

’I’ll dry that bastard!’

Time flew by quickly until eventually, I made 25 arrows, stopping only because I drained his blood faster than he could regenerate it.

’This is enough for now.’

I nodded in satisfaction as I looked at the pale-faced Zephyr. He seemed to be 2 steps away from his grave, but neither of us cared.

I thought he deserved that, and he was too focused on his payment to realize his look.

I took 3 small boxes out of my storage and handed them to Zephyr. "Here, all the ingredients were Tier-2 as promised."

Yeah, his payment was food and sweets. Either he was easy to satisfy or I was simply a great cook!

It was probably the latter.

His eyes lit up as he took them and stood up. "Hehe, it was worth it. See you later."

As Zephyr moved to the door, he glanced at us for one last time, his eyes twitching as he muttered: "....I’ll get a girl someday."

*Bam!*

Sensing him leaving the suite without stealing anything, I finally let out a sigh of relief as I gathered the arrows and put them in my storage.

"Ignore what that bastard said, you know how he is." I said to Selene as I sat beside her.

Selene’s blush deepened as she avoided eye contact. "I know, it-it was just too sudden, that’s all."

I raised an eyebrow at her reaction — I didn’t expect her to be too sensitive. ’I’m definitely blaming Kyle for that.’

I shook my head and patted Selene while raising my left hand. I focused on the embedded crystal for a moment, then with a simple thought, the crystal shattered into purple powder and disappeared.

Soon after, a new crystal replaced it. That way, I got a free spell slot and lost the eclipse arrow. Now, I had to think of a spell to take.

I had the eclipse barrier to work for defense, so I didn’t lack this aspect.

I had 3 affinities that covered the speed, attack and stealth, which left only one thing I could think about.

It was healing.

Although my blood manipulation ability could help with injuries, it wasn’t regenerating my body. Thus, I decided to get a healing spell.

The problem was that many healing affinities existed.

There was Holy, Divine, Light, Lunar, Solar and even Life. Unfortunately, I could only choose one of them.

Holy was considered the best rare affinity for healing, so all the other common and rare affinities were out of options, but that left a problem.

Both Solar and Lunar were unique, thus there was no data about their real power. I couldn’t know which one of those 3 was better, so I decided to take Selene’s spells until I gathered with Arthur and Elara to test their affinities.

"Okay, I’m ready. You can use your spell now." I said to Selene while putting my hand on hers.

Selene softly clenched it as a cool silvery-white light burst out of her hand.

The crystal’s color began to gradually change into silvery-white, and when it became fully changed, the color suddenly returned to purple.

It worked. I had my own healing spell now.

I smiled at Selene gratefully. "Thank you, this may save my life someday."

Selene smiled back at me, pressing my hand harder on her head. "Mhm, no problem."

I looked at the ceiling, thinking about my next move.

I still had to meet Isaac, but that was in the middle of the night, so I had a lot of time until then.

’Let’s start with my store first.’

I decided to first make some artifacts and food for my servants. They said that the remaining ones are close to finishing.

After finishing that, I’d think about something else to do.
