Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Who Gave You the Courage? (1)
"Behave yourself, otherwise, don’t expect me to give you the antidote again. I’ll just watch you succumb to the poison!"
Elias Hawthorne’s expression froze when he saw Raina North’s cold demeanor; he knew she wasn’t joking.
He didn’t dare provoke Raina North any further; if he truly angered her, it would ultimately be his problem!
Raina North turned and headed to the laboratory. This time she returned quickly, holding a large glass of oddly colored liquid.
Raina North presented it to him: "Drink it."
Elias Hawthorne was stunned: "Just drink it directly?"
"That’s right."
Smelling the bizarre scent emanating from the glass, Elias Hawthorne’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down: "I remember yesterday it was injected directly."
Moreover, the dose was only a syringe.
"You said it yourself, that was yesterday, not today." Raina North curled her red lips, mocking, "What? Chickened out? How dare you mess with me if you’re such a coward? Who gave you the courage?"
The disdainful look on her face was as if she was looking at a coward.
"..." Elias Hawthorne felt for the first time what it was like to be at a loss for words.
Yet, he couldn’t come up with anything to say. After all, he couldn’t help but bully Raina North earlier, and given this woman’s temper, she certainly wouldn’t let it go just like that.
Unless he stopped entangling with Raina North, otherwise, he’d be inescapable this time around.
However, letting go of Raina North was absolutely impossible; he had finally met a woman who caught his eye. He would never let go, even if it killed him.
With that in mind, he had no choice but to go for it.
Elias Hawthorne raised his hand, took the glass, and brought it to his lips.
Raina North raised her red lips, revealing a look as if watching a good show.
With one gulp.
Elias Hawthorne felt that his taste buds were subjected to unprecedented torment. The awful taste made his scalp tingle, and his stomach clench uncomfortably, almost making him puke.
Raina North gloated: "How’s the special flavor I concocted especially for you?"
Elias Hawthorne swallowed several gulps of saliva before he could speak, trying to put on an indifferent look, "As long as it’s made by you, I’d savor it even if it were poison."
"Is that so?" Raina North chuckled: "Then I’m truly delighted." She paused, raising her voice, "Leila, bring the rest of those antidote glasses to President Hawthorne."
Leila Foster responded, carrying a tray and walking out briskly.
The tray was filled with four large glasses.
Raina North made an inviting gesture: "President Hawthorne, please. Remember, don’t waste a single drop, or I’d be really heartbroken."
"!!!!!!"
Elias Hawthorne’s expression stiffened; he almost performed an instant ’drop dead’ scene.
Raina North might just want to scare the remnants of the poison out of him with this terrifying taste!
...
The Hawthorne Family.
Vincent Hawthorne sat under a grapevine, making one call after another, looking gloomy.
Claire North sat beside him, fiddling with her phone. Her facial expression grew more and more exhilarated, almost unable to hide her smile.
Vincent Hawthorne gave her a glance, and Claire North’s gleeful demeanor made his anger spike instantly. He grabbed the teacup beside him and smashed it fiercely, angrily rebuking, "Wretched creature! Your son’s life is uncertain, and you still have the face to smile? Have you no heart, or are you unfit to be a mother?"
Claire North was startled, raising her hand to cover the forehead grazed by the teacup, her expression infinitely aggrieved, "Father, I didn’t."
Vincent Hawthorne glared at her: "Still dare to argue! If you truly cared about Baby, how could you be so cheerfully messing around with your phone!"
"No, it’s not like that. I’m using my phone to ask a friend to help find Raina North."
Vincent Hawthorne’s tone softened somewhat: "Did you find her?"
