Chapter 29: Julian Is Jealous
Tuesday, 13 August 2080, 08:52, Mataram Vocational High School.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" the sound of a gunshot hitting the floor.
Julian ran to avoid the gunshot with a panicked expression, running all the way to the school garden. The garden was deserted, with no one in sight, as it was still class time.
Julian hid behind a tree, catching his breath.
"Haa!... Haa!... Haa!!, wh-who is he?!" said Julian while panting.
"OMEGA JULIAN! COME OUT! LET’S TALK ABOUT IT NICELY!" the man shouted who shot Julian.
"Talk nicely your head!, You’re clearly shooting me, how can you talk to me nicely?!" Julian thought to himself, annoyed, as he peeked from behind the tree.
This happened when Julian was about to go to the bathroom.
*Flashback 06:55*
"YAAAWN!" Julian yawned.
Julian came a bit late because he was playing online games until 02:00. He saw the school gates were still open and some students had just arrived.
"Phew~, luckily class hasn’t started yet," said Julian, still a little sleepy.
Julian passed through the gate. As he passed through, he stopped when he saw Anindya standing a little away from him at the entrance of the main building. He greeted her.
"Anin—" Julian stopped.
But just as he was about to greet Anindya, Julian saw a cyan-haired boy approach her, and they walked together.
"Who’s that guy?" Julian muttered with a curious expression.
Suddenly, behind Julian, the voices of two junior female student from the drama department were heard gossiping.
"Kyaa! Look at that, Senior Sagara!" the first junior said happily, holding the second junior’s hands.
"Yeah, he’s really handsome!" the second junior said, also delighted.
"But unfortunately, it seems like he dating with Senior Anindya" the first junior said with a disappointed expression.
"Eh!?, Isn’t Senior Anindya dating a guy from class 11-M?" the second junior asked.
"I think they just broke up, hahaha," the first junior replied.
After that, the two students walked past Julian, unaware of his presence. Julian simply stared flat at the two passing students, wondering to himself.
"Break up?, Where did that thought come from?, Even though we just went on a date last night" Julian thought to himself with a flat expression.
Julian sighed, then changed his expression and muttering
"Never mind, it’s probably just a misunderstanding, like the one with me and class leader" Julian muttered.
Julian walked to his classroom. As he walked, he saw many students chatting in the second-floor hallway. Everyone in the hallway was staring at Julian. As he passed them, he began to hear them gossiping and staring at him. Julian could hear their conversations, but he didn’t pay much attention to it. He walked past them with an indifferent expression and a straight gaze.
When he was at the entrance to the class, Julian saw that in the back row, he was being waited for by several of his friends, namely Wiro, Kaza, Anto, Dimas, Damar, and Joyce.
"Look, our prince has finally arrived~" Kaza said with mischievously tone.
"Haa... Shut up, you little shit...!" Julian said with a sigh and his tone sounded heavy
Julian started walking towards his seat, before one of his friends said.
"Julian, it looks like Anindya’s real boyfriend has returned, ahahaha" Joyce said with a laugh and a mischievous tone.
Julian remained silent and headed to his seat. Once there, he put down his bag and then joined his friends at the back.
"Haa... Looks like it, Joyce" Julian said, sitting next to Joyce.
"I told, you to be honest with Anindya" Wiro said.
"If it’s like this, you’re at a loss for what to do, right?" Anto ask.
"Yes, that’s right, I have to be honest with Anindya... when the time is right, I will tell her the truth" Julian said with a sad expression and tone.
Seeing Julian’s expression, his friends felt a little sorry for him. But suddenly, Kaza approached Julian and said.
"What is this?, Is Julian jealous?" Kaza said with a mischievous smile and poked Julian’s cheek with his index finger.
Julian annoyed, gripped Kaza’s index finger with his right hand and said.
"SHUT UP!" Julian said with an annoyed expression and tone.
"OW! OW! OW!, Sorry! Sorry!" Kaza said, feeling pain from the tight grip on his index finger.
Julian let go of Kaza’s index finger.
"Ouch!, Julian is so cruel!" Kaza said with a sad expression, returning to his place next to Anto.
"It’s your fault you didn’t see the situation" Anto said with a flat expression.
Meanwhile, on Anindya’s side.
Anindya was sitting with her three friends at her table. Their respective tables were joined to Anindya’s. They did this so they could work on their homework together.
"Ninin, I heard you went on a date with Jul—" Wulan said, not finishing her sentence.
Anindya immediately covered Wulan’s mouth with her right hand, then said
"Shhh! Quiet! Don’t mention Julian name here, because ’he’ in here!" Anindya whispered, glancing at the light blue-haired boy surrounded by female student her classmates.
Wulan nodded, then Anindya removed her hand from Wulan’s mouth. Delima and Desy watched in silence. Desy began to rest her chin on the table, flipped her notebook to the last page, and wrote:
"So, the reason you didn’t come with Julian today was because of this?" Desy asked.
Then she pushed her notebook to the center of the table for her friends to see. Anindya, seeing this, immediately wrote under Desy’s sentence.
"Yes" Anindya replied.
Delima also began writing under Anindya’s sentence.
"So, have you contacted Julian so he won’t be late for school?
" Delima asked."Yes, I have, but I was just spamming chat him on WhatsApp" Anindya replied.
"Before you came, I went to Julian’s class, I saw he wasn’t in his class yet" Wulan said.
"Really?" Anindya asked.
"Maybe he was just late or maybe he just arrived when you were already in class" Wulan replied.
"If that’s the case, this will be dangerous, because today the gym teacher is guarding the gate, if Julian is late he will definitely be punished" Desy said.
Anindya paused after seeing that sentence. She turned to Desy. Desy, noticing Anindya’s gaze, asked.
"W-What’s wrong?" Desy asked.
"It’s okay, I’ll WhatsApp him now!" Anindya replied quietly, but her expression was still shocked.
Anindya immediately turned on her phone, which she had placed on her left side, and quickly texted Julian. At the same time, the bell rang, startling Wulan, Desy, and Delima.
"Oh my gosh!, the bell’s rung! Let’s hurry up and finish our homework!" Desy said.
The three of them immediately went back to their homework.
Back to Julian’s side.
Julian, who was gathered behind her and scrolling through social media, suddenly saw a text notification from Anindya. He immediately opened it. It read:
"JULIAN WAKE UP! JULIAN WAKE UP! JULIAN WAKE UP!" Anindya said in the text.
Julian was shocked because Anindya had texted him 20 times.
"Wow, she actually sent that many messages..." Julian thought to himself with a shocked expression.
Julian glanced around, his friends still busy with their own activities. He breathed a sigh of relief
"Thank goodness I turned off the notification sound" Julian continued, feeling relieved.
After that, Julian replied to Anindya’s message.
"I’m already in class, Anindya" Julian replied in the chat.
After sending the message, it didn’t take a minute for Anindya to reply.
"Great, sorry I can’t come to school with you" Anindya said in the chat.
Julian immediately replied to the message.
"No problem, I also saw you leaving with another guy" Julian said in the chat.
Anindya, who saw the message, was confused, then finally understood what he meant, and replied with a smile.
"Hee~, you saw me, why didn’t you say hello?" Anindya asked in the chat.
Julian immediately replied with a flat expression.
"I just didn’t want to bother you guys" Julian replied in the chat.
Anindya, seeing the reply, chuckled and replied to the message.
"No, it’s okay, we’re just childhood friends" Anindya said in the chat.
Feeling like he was being disturbed, Julian subconsciously replied.
"Childhood friend or boyfriend?" Julian asked.
After sending it, Julian realized it. He was about to delete it, but Anindya was still in the chat, so she immediately read the message.
"Damn, if this happen, I’m the one who looks jealous" Julian thought to himself with a blank expression.
Julian looked at Anindya’s status and saw that she was writing a message.
"Oh my, she’s already writing another message!" Julian thought to himself with a panicked expression.
Anindya had sent a message, and Julian bravely checked the chat.
"Aha~, what is this? Are you jealous seeing that?" Anindya asked in the chat, making it look like she was laughing.
Julian immediately covered his face with his left hand
"AKH!, I’m so embarrassed!" Julian said, his face slightly red.
"Hm? What’s wrong, Julian?" Wiro asked, noticing Julian’s unusual expression.
Julian removed his hand from his face and replied,
"N-nothing" Julian replied.
"Looks like Julian’s just asking Anindya for an explanation why she come with other guy" Anto teased, smiling faintly at Julian.
"Oh! I understand" Wiro said, smiling faintly at Julian.
"W-what!? I-I didn’t ask for an explanation!" Julian said with an embarrassed expression and tone, glancing at Anto and Wiro.
While Julian was flustered, Kaza quietly tried to take Julian’s phone, but unfortunately, Julian had quick reflexes and managed to protect it. Then he held Kaza’s face with his left hand and said,
"WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO, HUH?!" Julian asked with in a sharp expression.
"Ge-geez, I don’t want to do anything!" Kaza replied in a panicked tone.
"DON’T LIE!" Julian said with annoyance.
"Hey, everyone sit down, the English teacher’s here!" Ravi said.
At that, everyone returned to their seats, and Julian removed his hand from Kaza’s face. Kaza breathed a sigh of relief.
"Haa... Haa... I-I thought I was going to die.." Kaza said, feeling relieved.
"It’s your own fault for messing with Julian," said Wiro, walking to his seat.
Kaza stood up and returned to his seat. When they were all seated, Julian didn’t notice an additional message from Anindya.
"Don’t worry, Julian. I’ll explain during the first break. We’ll meet in the park, okay?" Anindya said in the chat.
