“Oh, Mira! We meet again after just half an hour.”
Theresa greeted Mira, seeing her come running back so soon. That was the place Mira had thought of as the ideal place to disguise herself, the Magical Knights’ booth and photo shoot area.
“I’m sorry to impose, but could I borrow your changing room for a bit?”
After the request, Mira explained that she was currently trying to find a way to disguise herself. Theresa found the idea fun and agreed right away, securing a spot for Mira.
Theresa was also curious to see what kind of disguise the Spirit Queen had come up with, so she offered to help if necessary and went into the changing room with Mira.
“Let’s start with this then.”
Now that she had some quiet and peace to change, Mira took out the hair dye and stood in front of a mirror. The dye came in a black container around the size of a water bottle. She had never used it before, but Solomon had told her to just rub it on her hair.
“Ah, is that a Jenuslean black dye?! Amazing… You really know what to get!”
Before she could start, Theresa shouted in excitement behind her. She had heard about that type of dye before, or rather, was extremely knowledgeable about it.
“Oh…so that’s what it’s called.”
Theresa then added that all fanatics of dressing up, basically cosplayers, knew about that brand. Their pigments, color assortments, smell, and ease of use were all a step above the competition.
The only downside was their high cost. Just the bottle Mira had went for around 100,000 Rils.
“I can’t believe it…”
Mira’s usual stinginess reared its head the moment she heard the price, making her hesitate to use it. But she also knew that a change in hair color was key for her disguise to work, so she faced the mirror again, ready to dye her hair when she noticed something else.
She had never dyed her hair before, so she did not know where to begin. Solomon simply told her to rub it into her hair, but had not mentioned how much or how hard. Maybe just a light application was enough.
All she could do was uncap the bottle and stand still.
“Mira, please let me do it for you!”
That was when Theresa offered to help.
She had likely noticed Mira’s internal struggle…or maybe not quite. She just ran up to Mira and very excitedly asked to experience what it was like to use that high quality dye. She even tried her best to sell herself as a professional.
As a cosplayer herself, Theresa had experienced a lot, including dying her own hair dozens of times. She had also been hopeful to obtain a bottle of Jenuslean dye, preparing herself for that day, practicing how to use it and researching all she could. So she was confident she would be able to use it perfectly.
“Well, if you’re so confident then I’ll leave it in your hands.”
Mira replied, acting as if she had been impressed by Theresa’s claims, but in reality, she was relieved to have found a way out. It was better for someone with experience like Theresa to do it, rather than for Mira to do it for the first time. So she accepted right away.
“Thank you, Mira!”
Theresa was so happy she almost broke out dancing, quickly saying, “I’ll go bring my tools!” and running off somewhere. Then, a moment later, she was back, her footsteps echoing loudly as she ran back. She showed up with two large bags, filled to the brim, even though all she was going to do was dye Mira’s hair.
“That’s quite the assortment of tools you’ve got there…”
Theresa took out item after item from her bag, lining them up on a table. Her voice was also filled with enthusiasm, showing how much she was looking forward to doing it.
“Let’s go!”
Theresa took the bottle of Jenuslean dye from Mira very respectfully, then got to work very eagerly.
“Woah, it smells so nice!”
“It feels so much smoother than I imagined.”
“Ah, why is it so stretchy!”
“I can’t believe it takes effect so quickly!”
“I’ve never seen such a nice luster!”
“Ahh…so this is the power of Jenuslean…”
She used all her tools in quick succession, carefully applying the dye to Mira’s hair. Just like she had claimed before, she was actually a professional, and Mira’s hair came out nothing short of perfect.
“Ohh, that does change my appearance a lot.”
Mira looked at Theresa’s masterwork in the mirror, being filled by a strange feeling that she was looking at someone else that was not her.
Her platinum-like hair now appeared like glossy obsidian, making her nearly unrecognizable. That change alone would help her blend in a lot now.
“I doubt I would’ve done such a good job on my own. You have my gratitude.”
Mira stood up satisfied and thanked Theresa, and she thanked Mira back for giving her the opportunity to experience something so unique. In the end, both had gained something from it.
“Alright, now I only need to change clothes.”
After one last look in the mirror, Mira knew that a change in clothes would make her unrecognizable, allowing her to focus on searching for Meilin. So she took out the disguise she had ready.
