Chapter 66: Chapter 66: The Undead Body, Right? Then Do Me a Favor!

"Gangzi! Help!"

"Help, don’t leave me behind! I don’t want to die!"

"Gangzi, didn’t you say you would look out for us?!"

The survivors’ bleak cries echoed endlessly on the streets, but all that was returned was the frenzied slaughter by the Evolved Zombie.

This Evolved Zombie seemed even more brutal than any zombies seen before, with arms like claws swinging wildly; those holding short steel bars were no match for him.

"Damn it! I can’t even protect myself!"

Gangzi’s hand holding the machete was trembling uncontrollably, watching his followers around him fall one by one, his legs felt weak.

What kind of monster is this?!

Looking at the corpses sprawled on the ground, Gangzi’s body shook uncontrollably.

In this apocalypse, Gangzi had encountered many zombies, some who could even wield axes.

But those zombies had been easily slaughtered by him after evolving.

Yet the terror standing in front of him now felt like an apocalyptic Tyrant, pushing forward with unstoppable force.

Gangzi couldn’t believe such a terrifying existence could be in the world!

Roar!

Originally, there were over a dozen followers with Gangzi, but against this zombie, they were almost instantly wiped out.

Gangzi looked down at his machete, which had become nicked and chipped from constant battle.

Yet on the zombie’s body, wounds would heal in an instant.

"Damn it! Why can these zombies evolve so quickly?"

Seeing he was no match, Gangzi turned to flee, as there was no hope in defeating this zombie with tremendous power.

As for the cries of his fallen comrades, he couldn’t afford to pay any attention to them.

In the apocalypse, one must fend for oneself, especially those who hadn’t been with him long.

Gangzi quickly ran to a pile of abandoned cars, trying to use them to block the zombie’s attack.

But the zombie’s physique was incredibly robust, with terrifying strength, his massive claws pushing through the debris like making a path.

Feeling the wind behind him, Gangzi turned abruptly, swinging his machete defensively.

Bang!

With just one strike, the Tyrant Zombie sent him flying.

He crashed heavily into a car, denting the door.

The Tyrant Zombie’s immense force and recoil made Gangzi cough up blood.

Whoosh!

The zombie sprang suddenly from his position like a spring.

Its huge body descended like a cannonball, causing Gangzi’s pupils to dilate as he rolled to the side quickly.

Without hesitation, Gangzi turned to flee, but he couldn’t match the speed of the already two-tier Tyrant Zombie.

What the hell is this thing?!

These Evolved Zombies are either incredibly strong or incredibly fast, why is this one both?!"

Boom boom boom!

With his evolved strength, Gangzi could barely exchange a few blows with the Tyrant, but only in defense.

In just moments, Gangzi’s body was cut with several wounds, even revealing bone on his back.

Had he not been an Evolver, he’d be torn in half.

With several injuries, Gangzi reached a narrow alley and leapt in.

Bang!

As Gangzi landed, a loud crash erupted behind him, the Tyrant’s evolved massive body unable to fit in the narrow alley.

This alley was so narrow, only an average adult could pass through, and the Tyrant was too large to enter.

"Damn it! Someday I’ll kill you!"

Watching the blocked Tyrant Zombie at the alley entrance, Gangzi gasped for breath, his face pale.

One more second, and he would’ve been torn apart mid-air by the zombie.

...

This big guy seems a bit troublesome!

I didn’t expect even a Human Evolver could barely fight back against it...

The brutal scene of the Tyrant Zombie was entirely captured by Lu Chuan through the Corpse Puppet.

The previously powerful evolving man, who almost sent his Corpse Puppet Axe flying, nearly died at the hands of this zombie.

Having witnessed the Tyrant’s great combat abilities, Lu Chuan didn’t dare let Lightning or Da Pang engage directly.

Initially, he hoped to defeat it by numbers, but the zombie’s evolution seemed to have transformed its power amazingly!

With current abilities, neither Da Pang nor Lightning could defeat it, possibly even getting killed in return.

Lu Chuan only had three Evolved Zombies, and he couldn’t afford to lose generals like Da Pang and Lightning.

Lu Chuan frowned, having advanced to tier two, consuming first-tier Crystal Cores had little effect now.

After searching around so long with the Corpse Puppet, he couldn’t bear to let this tier two zombie go.

There’s always a way, I refuse to believe I can’t take you down!

After pondering awhile, Lu Chuan’s eyes brightened with a new idea.

With a decision of mind, he controlled Lightning to swiftly charge toward the Tyrant Zombie.

As fellow Evolved Zombies, the Tyrant immediately sensed Lightning’s presence.

Missing a human already made the Tyrant very angry, and now seeing Lightning approach, blood lust flashed in its eyes.

Compared to humans, the Crystal Cores in Evolved Zombies’ heads were far more tempting.

Seeing the Tyrant Zombie notice him, Lu Chuan quickly controlled Lightning to flee in the opposite direction.

The Tyrant chased after him, trampling the still-alive survivors into mud along the way.

This Tyrant Zombie was already a tier two and in terms of speed, no weaker than the agile Lightning One.

But Lu Chuan proved once again the difference between brains and brawn.

Controlling the Lightning zombie, and with his familiarity of the terrain and leveraging agility, Lu Chuan kept ahead by several positions.

Failing to catch Lightning, the Tyrant Zombie became angrier.

Yet because Lu Chuan deliberately chose complex terrains, the Tyrant was constantly blocked by obstacles.

The more it raged, the less it kept up, only being distanced by Lu Chuan.

Controlling Lightning, Lu Chuan soon saw the heavily guarded police station ahead.

Lu Chuan’s plan was to lead the Tyrant Zombie to confront the eerie revived policewoman.

When snipe and clam quarrel, the fisherman benefits.

Both of these entities were troublesome, for now, Lu Chuan did not want to face either solo.

So he’d resort to driving the tiger to swallow the wolf: see whether the tier two zombie or the tier two Evolver was stronger.

"Don’t you have an Undead Body, policewoman? Lend a hand!"

PS: Recent criticism has been high, mainly targeting poor female character development and many details...

Honestly, this is the author’s first foray into original writing; readers can see previous works were fanfictions.

First time writing original, skills are lacking, please bear with me, be gentle... The author will try hard to finish and improve the plot.

Regarding readers’ concern about the protagonist’s identity revelation, it should be explained in a dozen or so Chapters, please be patient, complain less and toss the book less...
