Chapter 286 What Right Do You Have To Make Her Abort The Child

He had never encountered such a difficult woman. He could handle anything with ease, yet when it came to Wei Yumeng, he felt a sense of powerlessness.

Zhan Mohan's eyes were bloodshot, emanating a murderous aura. Wei Yumeng was terrified, afraid he might do something to her. But thinking of the innocent life within her, she told herself she could not compromise.

If she gave in once, she would lose her only chance to be a mother forever.

She knew Zhan Mohan was stubborn, and going against him might not end well. She decided to try a different approach, to see if it would stop him from harming the child in her womb, at least temporarily.

Just as Zhan Mohan was contemplating how to persuade her to abort the child, Wei Yumeng suddenly tugged at his sleeve. She looked at him with innocent eyes, her voice soft and pliable, like cotton candy.

"Zhan Mohan, just grant me this one plea, let me give birth to this child. I promise I won't let anyone else know. At worst, I'll leave far away, so no one finds out, okay?"

She believed her tone and attitude were sufficiently gentle. However, instead of seeing any sign of relief on Zhan Mohan's face, he seemed to become even more furious. Veins bulged on his forehead, and his gaze, like sharp ice blades, slowly swept across her skin.

Wei Yumeng shivered involuntarily.

Zhan Mohan was seething with rage. What was this woman thinking all day? He told her to abort the child, and she wouldn't listen. Now, her mind was filled with plans to run away and give birth.

She actually wanted to get far away from him. That day in the room, she had looked at him with earnest eyes and told him sincerely that she liked him. His feelings at that moment were beyond words.

He had never felt such ecstatic joy, not even when signing multi-billion dollar projects. But the more joy he felt then, the more disappointed he was now. Wei Yumeng had poured a basin of cold water on him, leaving him utterly chilled.

Yet, this woman was completely oblivious, still plotting to get his agreement to let her have the child.

Although Zhan Mohan liked it when she was gentle and didn't argue with him, her current actions, driven by ulterior motives, made him deeply uncomfortable.

He cupped Wei Yumeng's face, his tone resolute, "No matter what, you will never escape my sight!"

"Then what exactly do you want? Whether I have the child or not is my business. What does it have to do with you? This child isn't yours."

Wei Yumeng's words were like the final straw that broke the camel's back, shattering Zhan Mohan's last shred of reason.

"Since you say that, let me ask you, did you have this child after having an affair with Xin Ran?"

Zhan Mohan's gaze was sharp, making Wei Yumeng's heart tremble. But it was the truth, so she admitted it calmly.

"Yes."

"Did you betray me?"

"Yes."

"We are still married, right?"

"Yes."

Zhan Mohan asserted, tilting his chin at her, "Then what right do you have to stop me?"

"I..."

Wei Yumeng suddenly realized her mind was blank. She couldn't find any words to refute him.

It was as if she had fallen into a trap he had set, without even knowing how she got there.

As the tension between them remained high, Wei Yumeng's phone vibrated. She reached for it, but it slipped from her bag and fell.

Zhan Mohan happened to glance at the screen. It was a message from Xin Ran, which read:

"Yumeng, the child must be aborted. You alone cannot raise it."

Since he had seen it, Wei Yumeng naturally noticed it too. Her brows furrowed instantly, a wave of bitterness washing over her.

Why did both Xin Ran and Zhan Mohan want her to abort the child?

Tears instantly welled up in her eyes. The grievance and anger poured out like a breached dam.

Before Zhan Mohan could react, Wei Yumeng pushed him away.

"Are you satisfied now?"

Wei Yumeng unhesitatingly yanked open the car door, straightened her clothes, and turned to leave.

Zhan Mohan chased after her. "Don't you see? Xin Ran doesn't want this child at all. He's been toying with you from the very beginning!"

Wei Yumeng's emotions had already reached their breaking point. She didn't want to hear anything, nor did she want to discuss these issues with Zhan Mohan.

Zhan Mohan didn't follow her further. Watching her gradually disappear from his sight, a bone-chilling coldness flickered in his eyes.

He turned to drive and made a call to Fang Xun, his voice sharp.

"Find out Xin Ran's whereabouts immediately!"

Fang Xun was bewildered. "Young Master Zhan, why are you looking for Xin Ran?"

"I need to talk to him."

"What could you possibly need to talk to him about?"

Fang Xun couldn't figure it out. Besides matters concerning his wife, Young Master Zhan rarely sought out Xin Ran.

Zhan Mohan was already agitated, and Fang Xun's incessant questions only fueled his anger.

"Just find him, stop with the nonsense!"

Fang Xun's heart leaped at the harsh tone, startling him.

"I'll check right away and send you his location as soon as I find it."

Zhan Mohan hung up.

Within two minutes, Fang Xun had located Xin Ran.

Zhan Mohan received the location on his phone and made a U-turn, heading towards New Century Group.

Xin Ran was in his office, his brow furrowed in contemplation as he saw no response to his message.

It seemed Yumeng was determined to have the child.

What should he do to make her change her mind?

Just then, there was a commotion at the door, followed by his assistant's voice.

"Young Master Zhan, Young Master Zhan, our Mr. Xin..."

Before the assistant could finish, Zhan Mohan pushed the door open and entered.

The assistant could only stand aside. "I apologize, Mr. Xin, I couldn't stop Young Master Zhan."

Xin Ran waved his hand at the assistant. "You can leave now."

"Yes."

After the assistant closed the door, Xin Ran walked over. "Young Master Zhan, why have you come..."

"You messaged Wei Yumeng, telling her to abort the child?"

Before Xin Ran could finish speaking, Zhan Mohan grabbed his collar, his eyes sharp and cold as ice.

Xin Ran frowned. "Were you with Yumeng?"

"You don't deserve to say her name! She's suffering so much carrying this child. Others can be forgiven, but you, the child's biological father, are telling her to abort it. Are you afraid it will affect your grand ambition to restore your family's glory?"

A sharp glint flashed in the man's eyes, filled with dangerous light, his thick brows pressing down heavily.

Xin Ran was momentarily stunned. It seemed Zhan Mohan only knew Yumeng was pregnant, but not who the father was.

Thinking this, his heart gradually settled. He looked at Zhan Mohan with newfound confidence.

"You have no relationship with her anymore. Furthermore, the child in Yumeng's womb is mine. I have the right to make decisions, and you don't need to interfere."

"Are you speaking human words?"

Zhan Mohan's pupils constricted abruptly. A surge of anger erupted from his chest, and he clenched his fist, smashing it into Xin Ran's face.

Xin Ran, a man over six feet tall, was sent sprawling to the ground by the force of the blow.

This punch was not enough to quell his anger. He strode towards Xin Ran, radiating fury, and hauled him up, landing another blow that filled Xin Ran's mouth with blood.

Xin Ran curled up on the ground, his face contorted in pain, yet he refused to back down verbally.

"What right do you have to judge me? Aren't you the same? If it weren't for you, Xin Ran and I would have been together long ago. You've tormented her enough for so long, it's time to give her a way out."

Zhan Mohan bent down, unable to suppress his rage. The flames in his eyes leaped up.

"I'm telling you, she and I are in love with each other. She never liked you. If it weren't for your despicable tactics, do you really think we would have separated? Wei Yumeng has always been, and will always be, my wife, Zhan Mohan's wife. She has never belonged to you! As for the child, you have no right to make her abort it!"

Xin Ran pushed himself up, swaying unsteadily. He raised a hand to wipe the blood from his lip and sneered.

"I don't have the right, but do you have the right to make her abort the child?"
