Chapter 977 A Formidable Character

Although Wei Yumeng was flustered, she couldn't show it. Facing a shrewd man like Walsh, she had to be flawless to win his trust.

"Hello, Mr. Walsh. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to meet you," Wei Yumeng said, extending her hand.

Walsh looked at Wei Yumeng with apparent admiration. After all, many people would be uneasy and nervous upon hearing of his arrival, but Wei Yumeng appeared remarkably composed.

However, it was precisely because of this composure that Walsh knew he had to change his approach to dealing with her.

Previously, people would be intimidated simply by his presence, making it easier for him to employ psychological tactics and defeat them mentally.

At that point, he could obtain as much profit as he desired, which had always been Walsh's modus operandi.

Wei Yumeng's demeanor was undoubtedly an unexpected development, and there were only two possible explanations for it.

One was that the woman before him was genuinely bold and a formidable figure.

The second was that she knew absolutely nothing about him, and thus had no reason to be afraid of his presence.

Which category did Wei Yumeng fall into?

She was indeed bold and capable, but at the same time, her understanding of Walsh was limited to the few details she had gleaned from Zhan Mohan.

For instance, she knew the old man was difficult to deal with and that Walsh was a cunning businessman, a seasoned veteran of the trade.

These characteristics were, in fact, no different from the major company bosses she had encountered before. Therefore, she naturally wasn't afraid.

The only thing she feared was that she might mess up the entire project.

Walsh clasped Wei Yumeng's hand and said cordially, "I recall a Ms. Catherine contacted me previously. Why is it different today?"

Although Walsh appeared to have no ill intentions, his words carried a different meaning in this context, subtly questioning whether Wei Yumeng, who had only recently taken over, could effectively manage the project.

Wei Yumeng smiled. "Ms. Catherine and I are both presidents of the Feng Group. I am the principal, and she is the vice. She is currently on maternity leave, so it's more appropriate for me to handle this project with you. After all, you are the largest business partner of our Feng Group."

Wei Yumeng's words were impeccable. She knew Walsh was deliberately trying to make things difficult for her, so she deliberately clarified their positions. This would make Walsh believe that they valued the project so highly that she, the principal president, was personally handling it.

Walsh nodded. "That puts my mind at ease. After all, I had been negotiating this project with Ms. Catherine. If there were any issues, we wouldn't be able to bear the responsibility."

"You can rest assured on that point, Mr. Walsh. While Catherine was working on the project, I was also supervising her work. Therefore, I am very familiar with the project as well."

Walsh looked at Wei Yumeng, feeling that no matter how he tried to make things difficult, she always managed to answer so smoothly that he couldn't find any fault. This reminded him of someone.

Wei Yumeng led Walsh into the reception room. Under her instructions, the environment had been deliberately decorated to reflect Walsh's hometown style. This was one of Wei Yumeng's interpersonal skills.

When a person is in a familiar environment, they are more likely to relax, making business negotiations easier.

"It seems President Wei has put a lot of thought into this," Walsh remarked, praising the surroundings.

"You are too kind, Mr. Walsh. Such preparations are necessary when hosting you."

Walsh nodded. "Then, let's dispense with the pleasantries and discuss our project."

Wei Yumeng took a deep breath and stood up. She was actually quite nervous. She had only learned about Walsh's impending visit and the project about an hour ago. Although she believed she had memorized most of the details, she was unsure if she had recalled everything without error.

However, the situation had reached this point, and she could only press on.

"Our project this time is a collaboration to create a street with a foreign flair in the city. We have already selected the location, choosing the area south of the densely populated city center square."

As Wei Yumeng spoke, she opened the screen and projected the prepared information.

"Although this location is not in the most bustling part of the city center, it is nearing completion of its renovation. According to the current situation, there are plans to convert it into a themed street, which aligns perfectly with our vision. Therefore, we can directly negotiate with the property developers there at that time."

Upon hearing this, Walsh frowned. "Have you considered that the closer the land is to the city center, the higher its price? If we are to build a themed street here, will the initial investment truly be recouped in the long run?"

Wei Yumeng remained calm; she had already considered this question.

She opened a chart on the screen. "This is a chart I compiled based on the revenue of commercial streets in the city center over the past few years. It clearly shows that land prices in the area do not increase with rising profits. Meanwhile, the number of tourists is constantly increasing due to national tourism policies. Therefore, choosing this location is an absolutely reliable decision."

Wei Yumeng paused. "Moreover, the price of the location we have chosen is significantly lower than these, so the profits we can earn will naturally be higher."

Walsh, however, furrowed his brow. "But you must understand that the data you've provided pertains to the city center commercial streets. Our location is some distance away. How can you assume that our development trend will necessarily align with the data you've investigated?"

Wei Yumeng was slightly taken aback. She hadn't considered this point.

From her perspective as a local, their chosen site was no different from the truly bustling commercial areas of the city center; they were separated by only one road.

However, according to Walsh's rigorous line of thinking, the two locations were still distinct places. How could one be used as a reference for the other?

Wei Yumeng bit her lip. How was she supposed to explain this situation? Directly telling Walsh that the two locations were very close would be an irresponsible statement.

But if they didn't use the city center commercial streets as a reference, there was no other data available for them to use.

Seeing Wei Yumeng's dilemma, a slight smile played on Walsh's lips. He was eager to see how the woman before him would handle this problem.
