"What do you want to say? I was woken up by you. If there's nothing important, I'll have to ask the nurse to escort you out."
Seeing Yin Fang stammering for a long time without uttering a word, Wei Yumeng's expression turned even colder.
The nurse standing by the door was still looking around, as if ready to summon security to drag Yin Fang out the moment Wei Yumeng gave the order.
Yin Fang couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat. Her days in Africa had smoothed out her former arrogance. She now firmly believed that if Wei Yumeng spoke, her life would only become more difficult.
Moreover, she had sneaked here, risking being caught by Zhan Mohan's bodyguards, all for that one matter!
"Yu, Yumeng, please don't have me kicked out. Let's talk properly!"
Yin Fang's eyes turned completely red with desperation, she was almost hopping. Gritting her teeth, she blurted out the purpose of her visit.
"I, I've come to beg you! Let Wei Jin go!"
Wei Yumeng let out a mocking snort. Her raven-feather eyelids slowly lifted, a chilling glint faintly visible in her eyes.
Yin Fang's greatest concern was her daughter, Wei Jin. Everything she did was for Wei Jin. She knew from the start that Yin Fang was here to plead for Wei Jin.
"What, didn't my 'good father' come with you? That's not much sincerity!"
A hint of ruthlessness flashed in Wei Yumeng's eyes. She tightly gripped the quilt in her hand. Wei Jin doing what she did, and then being thrown into prison was already a light punishment!
After all, Yin Fang and Wei Anguo were originally supposed to go in with Wei Jin, but it wouldn't be enough to let them reunite as a family. Sending them to Africa was indeed the best choice.
Wei Yumeng curved her lips. Zhan Mohan's actions back then were wise. Since Yin Fang and Wei Anguo couldn't let go of Wei Jin, they shouldn't get off easy by just going to prison.
"Anguo... he just returned and might not be feeling well, so he found a place to rest." Yin Fang kept her head bowed, not daring to say more.
Ever since Wei Anguo was told that day that his and Wei Yumeng's blood types didn't match, he had been in a daze, unsure of what he was thinking.
They had been naive from the start, thinking that only Wei Anguo's blood could save Wei Yumeng. They had made an exorbitant demand to Zhan Mohan, only to be severely humiliated.
Yin Fang sighed heavily, her palms sweating. They had escaped, and Zhan Mohan's bodyguards were still searching for them to send them back to Africa!
She had nothing to say about being sent back to Africa, but before leaving, she was determined to fulfill her wish of rescuing Wei Jin. Otherwise, even death would not grant her peace...
"Not feeling well? Are you perhaps accustomed to the weather there after staying in Africa for too long? Otherwise, I can send someone to send you back again?"
Wei Yumeng said calmly. She picked up her phone from the bedside table, about to dial.
Yin Fang's eyes widened in panic. She lunged forward, reaching out to snatch Wei Yumeng's phone, her heart pounding.
Wei Yumeng had anticipated Yin Fang's intentions. She quickly raised her arm, a cold glint in her beautiful eyes.
"Is this how you beg me?"
"I'm sorry! Yumeng, I'm begging you, please release Wei Jin, she's my only daughter!"
Yin Fang was terrified by Wei Yumeng's unapproachable demeanor. She quickly knelt before Wei Yumeng's bed, pleading desperately.
"Wei Jin deserves what she got. She still harbors so much hatred towards me. Wouldn't releasing such a person be like lifting a rock only to drop it on my own feet?"
Wei Yumeng sternly refused Yin Fang's plea and put down her phone. She no longer intended to have Yin Fang arrested.
Without her daughter, she was like a venomous snake with its fangs removed, having lost all hope in life.
"No! I will teach her well and let her work and live. I just want my daughter. I swear here, we will stay far away from you!"
Wei Yumeng flatly refused. Yin Fang still refused to give up. She clutched Wei Yumeng's hand, weeping uncontrollably.
The more sincerely Yin Fang pleaded now, the more misery she had inflicted upon Wei Yumeng's mother before.
Wei Yumeng mercilessly pulled her hand away. She turned her head, refusing to look at the detestable face, and said coldly.
"You may leave! I will not agree to help you release Wei Jin, not now, and not ever!"
"Yumeng, please, for Wei Jin's sake as your half-sister, release her. We cannot live without this daughter. I promise, we will never bother you again!"
Yin Fang gritted her teeth and kowtowed fiercely to Wei Yumeng. The heavy thuds made the nurse open the door and rush in.
"Madam, are you alright?"
The nurse hurried in to check on the situation, worried about Wei Yumeng's well-being, but was stunned by the scene before her.
"Quick, help her up and let her leave." Wei Yumeng frowned. Looking at Yin Fang's disheveled state, she simply turned her face away, out of sight, out of mind.
She would never agree to release Wei Jin in this lifetime!
"I won't leave, I won't leave! Unless you agree to let Wei Jin go!" Yin Fang shouted, giving up all pretense and insisting on staying in Wei Yumeng's room.
"You should leave quickly and not disturb Madam!"
Having received Wei Yumeng's instructions, the nurse was not about to let Yin Fang make a scene. She rolled up her sleeves and tugged at Yin Fang's clothes.
The situation became chaotic. The door was wide open, and a well-dressed couple hurried into the room.
Their eyes lit up when they saw Wei Yumeng on the bed, and they surrounded her.
"Mrs. Zhan, how are you feeling now?"
The nurse beside them was still pulling at Yin Fang. No one stopped the couple from entering brazenly. Wei Yumeng blinked, looking at them with some bewilderment.
"Look at her complexion, it's much better. She must be almost recovered." The woman meticulously observed Wei Yumeng and turned to the man.
"Indeed. It's good we made it in time," the man agreed, nodding. His gentle eyes never left Wei Yumeng, as if he wanted to examine her with a magnifying glass to ensure there was no remaining discomfort.
Wei Yumeng watched the couple talk to themselves. She narrowed her eyes slightly, sizing them up. Their luxurious attire, though not of domestic styles, exuded an extraordinary opulence.
Were they foreign nobility, or from wealthy families?
Although their appearance was rather sudden, she could sense their deep worry and concern, even exceeding that of strangers.
"Thank you both for your concern. I'm much better now," Wei Yumeng politely smiled at them. Just as she was about to continue, the couple excitedly took over the conversation.
