Chapter 19 The Fiery Villain's Metamorphosis (19)

She was bleeding from the nose from being hit, yet she spoke for others. Truly, she deserved to be bullied.

Wei Jingzhou looked at her expressionlessly. The girl's skin was like flawless jade. Perhaps his gaze was too fierce, causing her to blanch. Her long eyelashes fluttered like two little brushes.

"I'm sticking up for you."

The man with arrogant eyebrows and eyes said this, as if mocking Shen Yue for being unappreciative.

Shen Yue looked at him in a panic. The man's eyes held no warmth, only a deep, chilling cold.

"Wei Jingzhou..."

Wei Jingzhou was silent for a moment, then angrily threw the ball away. He half-crouched down and gently touched the girl's soft cheek, feeling her body tremble slightly. Those eyes, clouded with fear, dared not meet his.

Wei Jingzhou's brow furrowed, and an irrepressible rage surged within him, almost to the point of exasperation.

He gritted his teeth and whispered into the girl's ear.

"You're afraid of me?"

He had helped Shen Yue get justice, and she, of all people, dared to be afraid of him.

How could she be so ungrateful?

The girl's body trembled even more violently. Even without looking at the man's eyes, she could feel how terrifying his gaze was.

Her whole body tensed, and her eyes gradually turned red.

"No, no."

Her pale pink lips pursed. She took the young man's hand, biting her red lips lightly. A mist gathered in her eyes, and her soft voice sounded helpless and pitiable.

"My nose just hurts a bit."

Hearing Shen Yue's words, Wei Jingzhou felt his anger subside slightly. He still spoke without restraint.

"So you feel pain now, do you? Serves you right to hurt."

Though he said this, he still gently helped the girl up and led her away.

Before leaving, he cast a cold glance at the other girl.

There happened to be a medical room nearby. The doctor prepared some cotton and antiseptic medicine, which the man snatched to apply himself.

Clearly, when they had come to this medical room before, the man had worn a dark expression and refused to lean on her.

Although the man appeared clumsy, his application of medicine was exceptionally gentle and extremely cautious. His brows remained tightly furrowed, as if he were engaged in something momentous.

Even though Wei Jingzhou was very gentle, the girl still winced in pain, her entire face contorted.

The girl, with skin like congealed fat and a face like white jade, had pitifully red eyes. She mumbled softly.

"It hurts... be gentler."

The man glared at her fiercely, saying cuttingly, "You're so spoiled. I'm not even using much force, and you're already crying out."

His increasingly gentle movements were completely at odds with his sharp words.

After applying medicine to Shen Yue, the man's forehead was beaded with sweat. His black hair was slicked back, fully revealing his sharp and striking features.

He reached out, not looking at Shen Yue, and put on a sullen face, appearing very unwilling.

"Hold on tight, so that nothing else happens."

Shen Yue obediently took hold of the man's broad, hot hand and followed his pace.

After walking for a while, Wei Jingzhou's expression changed slightly as he thought about the WeChat message. He half-closed his eyes, obscuring the emotional fluctuation within them, "I'll tell you a joke."

Shen Yue was looking at the footprints in the snow. Hearing the man suddenly want to tell a joke, she was startled for a moment, and after a long pause, she replied, "Okay."

The man stared straight ahead, telling the joke with great seriousness.

"There was a woman who added a man on WeChat. After not chatting for long, the person disappeared, without any message. Do you think that's funny?"

No one understood sarcasm better than this man.

Shen Yue's eye twitched. She looked up at the man's handsome nape and honestly explained the situation.

"It was too late that day, and I fell asleep. Later, I forgot about it. Are you... are you angry?"

The man snorted, speaking sarcastically, "How could I be? I already said it's a joke."

It seemed he was indeed angry.

Not only was his temper bad, but he was also petty.

Wei Jingzhou's hands were quite rough, perhaps due to frequent sports. His palms were calloused and large, and his temperature was high. As they walked hand in hand, their palms began to sweat.

It was very warm.

Shen Yue mischievously hooked her finger into the man's palm.

The man's breath hitched. He didn't turn his head, but Shen Yue keenly spotted his deeply flushed earlobes.

He didn't dare to turn his head back, but he still sternly warned her.

"Behave yourself. Don't have any of those weird thoughts."

It was at this moment that Shen Yue finally discovered another advantage of the great villain.

That was his innocence.

He got shy from just a hook of a finger.

Perhaps mindful of holding someone's hand, Wei Jingzhou did not walk fast. Their palms, clasped together, were both sweating, yet they remained tightly connected, with no space between them.

The twilight deepened, and the setting sun was like blood. The sunset, edged with gold along the sea, was round at this moment, radiating brilliant light that pierced the retina, dreamlike and illusory, so unreal.

Under the setting sun, the boy tightly held the girl, who was a head shorter than him. His palms were sticky with sweat from nervousness, but he was completely unwilling to let go.

After physical education class, the girl changed into her sportswear and was about to head home with her bag. Her phone chimed with a message. She looked down, and a surprised smile appeared on her face.

"Lin Xiaojun, what's happened? You're smiling so happily." A girl beside her teased.

Lin Xiaojun blushed shyly, "It's nothing."

"You say it's nothing, but your face is all red. Are you going to meet your boyfriend?"

Lin Xiaojun lightly swatted the teasing girl.

"Don't talk nonsense."

Although she said this, the smile on Lin Xiaojun's face grew even more shy.

When she arrived at the coffee shop, the boy was already there, looking at his phone.

She took out a small mirror to check herself and, confirming there were no issues, walked over.

"Tang Zhe, you're early."

The boy did not look up. Lin Xiaojun's smile gradually stiffened. A waiter approached and asked what she needed.

Lin Xiaojun whispered, "I'll have a latte."

Later, when the coffee was served, the boy continued to look at his phone, completely ignoring her.

Lin Xiaojun also remained silent.

After about five more minutes, Tang Zhe slowly put away his phone.

The coffee had gone cold, and he hadn't touched it.

"Do you know why I asked you to come?" Tang Zhe asked nonchalantly.

Lin Xiaojun's heart tightened. Her fingers, gripping the small spoon, turned white. Her smile remained unchanged, "Just say what you have to say."

Playing with a multi-million dollar watch on his wrist, Tang Zhe's expression was a half-smile, but his eyes were dark and deep. "I thought you were a smart person, but I didn't expect you to be foolish too."

Lin Xiaojun looked a bit uncomfortable, but the expression vanished quickly. She took a sip of coffee, her expression somber.

"Tang Zhe, how can you say that about me?"
