Holding the flashlight to illuminate, Shen Yue suddenly curved her eyes, fumbled in her pocket and found two strawberry-flavored gummies. She raised her dark, moist eyes, with soft strands of hair falling on her forehead. Her facial lines were extremely gentle, her skin like white jade.
Her voice was cheerful, but lowered, as if sharing a secret, "The shop isn't very busy. Let's rest here quietly for a while."
The woman, with smiling eyes, put a strawberry gummy into his hand.
The two of them were very close, and Luo Kai could smell a faint, fresh scent. The heart in his chest beat very fast, thumping rapidly. He restrained himself, afraid Shen Yue would notice something was amiss.
His tall, strong figure crouched in the corner, just like Shen Yue. He was so tall, so conspicuous. No matter how hard he tried to shrink, he was still a large figure, with a clumsy sort of cuteness.
The milk candy clutched in his well-defined fingers seemed to burn slightly; he couldn't bear to eat it.
Stolen moments of leisure are always fleeting. Shen Yue had to become an unfeeling worker again.

Autumn wind blew, and fallen leaves fluttered.
Today was Shen Yue's day off. She finally slept well, waking up nearly at noon, only because she was hungry.
Shen Yue sat up in bed in a daze for a while before throwing off the covers and getting out of bed.
The woman in the mirror had a somewhat pale complexion, an unhealthy white.
Shen Yue rubbed her forehead, unsure if it was because she had slept too long, but her head felt groggy.
Just as she reached for her toothbrush and was squeezing out toothpaste, Shen Yue noticed that the toothbrush was somewhat wet. Upon closer inspection, she remembered brushing her teeth the night before. Logically, the toothbrush should have been dry after a night.
Why was it still wet?
Shen Yue couldn't help but frown. Without overthinking, she rinsed the toothbrush and then proceeded with her normal routine.
It was already noon, so Shen Yue decided to go out for lunch.
The autumn temperature was slightly cool. Shen Yue wore a loose black sweater, revealing a slender, snow-white neck.
After a casual meal, Shen Yue decided to go to the hospital. Recently, she had been experiencing intermittent sharp pains in her head, like pinpricks. Occasionally, blurry images would flash through her mind. She wasn't sure if it was a sequela or a sign of memory recovery.
At the hospital, she registered and saw a doctor.
The doctor said, "This might be a sequela from the car accident. The images flashing in your mind recently could be lost memories. If you wish to recover your memory, perhaps you could visit places you used to frequent with people around you, or look at old photos more often. It might help."
Shen Yue couldn't help but grip her sleeves, her long, dense eyelashes slightly lowered. In all the time since she woke up, not a single relative or friend had come to find her.
The doctor wrote a prescription and told Shen Yue to collect the medicine herself.
After collecting her medicine, Shen Yue sat in the hospital corridor, holding her phone, looking lost. She wondered whether she should go to the police station to inquire.
Shen Yue somewhat suspected that she might be an orphan, and that before she lost her memory, her social life was likely poor.
Her thick black hair was tied in a low ponytail, falling on her chest. Her jawline was beautifully sculpted. She looked exceptionally fair in black, and her exposed neck was long and lovely, so white that the bluish-green veins at her neck were almost visible.
Her delicate white fingers held a bag of medicine, standing out remarkably in the busy hospital corridor.
Lu Jin wore a simple black hoodie and a black baseball cap. He was fair-skinned, with a sharp, handsome jawline and thin, red lips that hinted at a detached, romantic demeanor.
He held the iconic car key of a Rolls-Royce and leaned against the wall. With one hand holding his phone, he occasionally glanced around as if waiting for someone, his demeanor exuding a lazy nonchalance.
He seemed to have been waiting for quite some time and was growing impatient. His gaze casually swept across the scene in the hospital corridor, taking in everything, and he noticed Shen Yue, but his gaze did not linger.
Shen Yue pursed her full, vibrant red lips and stood up, still contemplating whether to go to the police station to investigate her background.
She thought it was probably only her, this oddball, who could lose her memory to the point of not being able to find her own family.
Shen Yue subconsciously ignored the worst possibility. If she were an orphan, that would be fine. She was afraid of having relatives who, for some reason, were unwilling to visit her; that would be even more heartbreaking.
Shen Yue sighed softly. While waiting for the elevator, she accidentally caught sight of a man with an extraordinary aura wearing a black hat. She looked for a second longer, thinking he looked somewhat familiar.
Just as Shen Yue was about to get a closer look, the elevator doors opened. It was crowded, and amidst the jostling, Shen Yue stepped into the elevator.
At the very moment the elevator doors were about to close, Shen Yue felt the man in the black hat seemed to look over.
She couldn't see the man's face clearly because the elevator doors had already closed, blocking their gazes before they could truly connect.
Not until the doors closed and the elevator displayed its descent did Lu Jin seem to snap back to reality. He suddenly rushed towards the elevator, almost roughly pressing the buttons, but the elevator had already started moving down.
—
"You've been waiting a long time, haven't you?" Lu Ting walked out holding the report, looking at Lu Jin leaning against the wall.
Lu Jin tugged at his hoodie, put away his phone, and glanced at Lu Ting's belly.
"From now on, ask your brother-in-law to accompany you for these things. Being busy with work is no excuse, after all, the child in your belly is his too."
Lu Ting just smiled, "He always says he's busy. I can't force him to come, can I? It's just a check-up anyway, it doesn't matter."
After speaking, Lu Ting walked a few steps ahead, only to see Lu Jin staring in one direction, frozen and motionless.
Lu Ting followed his gaze and saw only the closed elevator doors. She asked in confusion, "What are you looking at?"
Lu Jin's expression was very unusual. His jaw was tense, his expression a mixture of confusion and disbelief, "I..."
Before he could finish speaking, the man's pupils suddenly contracted. As if realizing something, he swiftly rushed to the elevator and frantically pressed the buttons with such force that it seemed he would break them.
Lu Ting was startled by Lu Jin's frenzied and urgent demeanor and quickly walked over to ask.
"What's wrong with you?"
"What happened?"
But Lu Jin had no time to respond. His mind was completely blank, with only the image of the closing elevator replaying in his head.
A beautiful, delicate face, dark, smooth hair, skin so pale it was almost transparent, a beauty like a brushstroke in an ink painting.
So familiar.
Lu Jin would never forget.
That was Shen Yue!!!
The elevator was taking too long to arrive. Lu Jin couldn't wait any longer. He rushed to the stairwell. This was the twelfth floor of the hospital. Without a second thought, he dashed down.
