Chapter 124: Ch 124 : Responsibilities

Before Sunny prepared to plunge his soul into the chaotic currents of the River of Time, he first had to set his new creations to their grand tasks, as they were still present in his God space.

The 136 demigods of the races had already departed, their purpose clear and their connection to their kin established. But before him now stood a new, silent army: the formless, ethereal demigods of elements, the guardians and demigods of domains, and the subtle, auxiliary demigods for stability and order.

Their roles and workings were not yet defined, a blank canvas upon which Sunny, the divine architect, would now paint his masterpiece.

He first addressed the elementals, the thirty-seven beings of pure, untamed energy. "You are the embodiment of the world’s core forces," his voice echoed in their minds. "But you are not slaves to your nature. You are its shepherds. Fire will not harm the innocent in my worlds. Water will not drown the undeserving. Darkness will not be a cloak for terror, but a blanket for peaceful rest. In every element, my people will find you, and in you, they will find a guardian."

He gave them their second directive. "You will also be a source of power. Through your blessings, you will grant affinities to my lifeforms. You can nurture a new generation of heroes, beings who command the very fabric of this world. Do not be shy with your gifts."

Then came their ultimate purpose, a task of truly cosmic scale. "Your most important duty is to grow our home. Veridia is but a cradle; it must become a cosmos of its own."

His will flowed out, assigning each a role in this grand terraforming project. "Demigod of Earth, you will raise new continents from the sea. Demigod of Water, you will fill the new oceans and maintain the balance between land and sea. You demigods of Nature and Wood will work together to seed these new lands with forests." He turned his attention to two others. "Demigod of Gravity, you are the anchor. You will maintain the stability of our expanding world, ensuring it does not collapse under its own weight. And Demigod of Fire, as Veridia grows, so too must its sun. You will be its keeper."

Finally, he addressed the most powerful among them, a being he had created to be their king. "And you, the Demigod of Spirits, will be their conductor. Your talent of Elemental Switch makes you master of all. You will keep the others in check, and through your power to combine their essences, you will create new wonders for our world." His vision was clear: a future where each elemental demigod could become a true God of their domain, with the Spirit King as their rightful sovereign.

With their grand purpose set, he turned to the demigods of domains. "The elementals will give you a spark," he commanded. "You will turn it into a fire. They will give you a single tree; you, Demigod of the Forest, will grow it into a sprawling woodland. They will give you a handful of sand; you, Demigod of the Desert, will shape it into a vast, majestic dune sea. They will give you a drop of water; you, demigods of Rivers and Lakes, will carve the arteries of this new world."

Lastly, he addressed the auxiliary demigods, the sustainers. "A domain cannot thrive without balance. You are that balance. Demigod of Rain, you will ensure the forests remain vibrant. Demigod of the Harvest, you will ensure the fields are forever fertile."

These beings were not created merely to spend the excess faith that Sunny possessed. They were the gears in a divine machine, a complex ecosystem of power designed to maintain order and balance across his entire territory—everywhere except Earth, which would forever remain a godless world.

"Now, all is set," Sunny said with satisfaction as he watched his new creations disperse, each moving to begin their monumental tasks.

He watched as the first new landmass began to rise from Veridia’s oceans, a testament to their immediate obedience. As the world expanded, however, a new problem arose in his mind. It would need more mana veins, a task that would constantly drain Thea’s energy. His thoughts drifted to Zir’s world, and the memory of its demigod, a single, magnificent World Tree that served as the planet’s heart. His eyes sparkled with a newfound idea.

He reached out, manifesting a new divine embryo. He did not shape it into a grand or terrifying form. Instead, it coalesced into a simple, humble sapling, barely a foot tall, with just two perfect leaves sprouting from its top and a single, pure white root at its base. Even in this simple form, the divine energy it contained was immense.

It was time to choose the talents for this cute, unassuming demigod, a being destined to become the very soul of his new Veridia.

"Magic affinity is a must" Sunny whispered as he etched magic affinity in the very being of the world tree.

The second talent he added was ’One with World’, this talent would create a symbiotic link between the World Tree and every living thing on the planet. It would feel the "health" of the world and emit a constant, subtle aura of vitality. This aura would passively boost the health, resilience, and fertility of all plants, animals, and lifeforms, making the entire world more vibrant and robust.

The third talent he added was Fruit of evolution, To make the world tree a truly sacred and central part of the world’s culture, this talent would allow it to bear special fruits once every 25 years.

Any lifeform who is deemed worthy and consumes this fruit could have one of their talents instantly evolve to a higher grade or gain a completely new and unique ability.

This would make a pilgrimage to the World Tree a lifelong goal for Veridia’s greatest heroes, the goal to get a new skill or even upgrade the previous one.
