Chapter 104: Ch 104 : Epiphany

The teacher was a young man who looked around twenty years old, his face a perfect blend of handsome and cute.

He stood at the front of a grand classroom, a man whose grace and composure made him seem far older than his years.

"Prince, are you telling the truth? Will we really get a spell created by you if we sense mana?" a young boy, his voice filled with an infectious enthusiasm, asked, his eyes wide with hope.

"First of all, I am your teacher here, not the prince," the teacher said with a gentle smile. "And yes, as your teacher, if I promise something, I will fulfill that promise." The teacher was none other than Light, the half-elf prodigy, and the successor to the throne of the Cosmic Empire.

It had been around 50 years since he had met with the Demigod of knowledge, Isiah, and still, he had no idea about his true path.

Though he was now 66 years old, for a talent like him, who was already at S-Grade when he was 30, age was just a number.

He had a higher chance of becoming a demigod than even the S-Grade leaders of the empire.

And this was because of his high comprehension talent, through which he had created many spells and created many different ways to increase the power and also the way to use the talents.

But as he was teaching his students, his mind raced towards the question Isiah had asked him years ago.

His Comprehension talent started working at full speed, and he immediately went into a trance, a state of profound meditation.

All the students felt this anomaly and looked at him in awe as Light’s body floated in the air, a sign that he was comprehending a new power or skill.

[Congratulations, Your Soul Awakener talent has been upgraded to S-Grade]

Light, currently in a state of epiphany, was not even able to see this notification.

His mind was having a battle of its own, as his mind was currently being overflowed by memories.

He wasn’t sure what it was, but Thea immediately became aware of it.

She manifested a mind-stabilizing pill, and through her Energy Convertor talent, she converted it into an energy with a similar function.

She then infused this energy into the brain of Light. As this energy began to stabilize the overflow, the pale face of Light returned to its original elegance.

After an hour, Light’s eyes fluttered open, but his eyes, which were once filled with the innocence of a child, were now looking with a strange, almost murderous glint.

The children in the classroom and the other teachers who had come to see the commotion all felt a pressure that was not possible for a mortal to exude. It was a pressure that was similar to that of the demigods.

In the Divine Library, Isiah looked towards Veridia and said, "What will you choose, child?" He took out the piece of paper that he had drawn years ago.

He folded the paper in such a way that it became a butterfly.

He then instilled his mana into this paper butterfly, and in a few seconds, the butterfly came to life.

"Go, help him," Isiah said. Immediately, the butterfly flew away, exited the divine library, and entered Veridia.

In the classroom, the pressure was still there, but no one felt it as Thea had neutralized this pressure for them.

Light noticed the paper butterfly flying towards him, but his mind was currently unable to process anything.

Both the Soul Awakener and Comprehension talents were already running at full speed.

The butterfly immediately fused with the body of Light, and all the memories that he had just gained were immediately stabilized in his mind.

Light’s eyes twitched slightly as he fell back and went into a deep slumber.

After a month, in a hospital, Light opened his eyes. The previous pressure was nowhere to be seen.

He saw Anaske and Vel standing in front of him with worry etched into their faces.

"Grandfather..." the memories that were stabilized by the paper butterfly resurfaced, but this time it was not painful.

In this month of deep slumber, Light had already understood the cause of these memories.

These were the memories from his previous life, a life of a ruler of an entire realm, a life of a ruler who became a slave to a God and then mercilessly killed millions of life forms without batting an eye.

"I am not him," the only sentence that kept Light’s mentality in check.

He was not Aerion, the demigod and leader of the spirit race.

It turns out it was all Sunny’s experiments. He let the soul of Aerion go and kept his eyes on Veridia to see if this soul would be reincarnated.

And it surely did, into the body of a small, newborn child named Light, with two of his previous talents, like Magic Affinity and Comprehension.

The result of these experiments were clear: that the souls of the evil could also become a pure life form in the next life, and similarly, a pure soul from heaven could also become evil in its next life.

But now, to tackle that, Sunny had Sugata, whose task would be to visit both heaven and hell to give the teachings of benevolence to all the souls.

"What happened to you, Light?" Anaske said in worry.

"Why did you faint? Did you overwork?" Vel added, his worry also similar to Anaske.

"Grandfather, I am alright, it’s just that one of my talents got upgraded," Light said.

Through the memories of his past life, he knew how many crimes he had committed and the torture that was done in hell.

"Grandfather, I don’t want to be a leader, I just hope to advance the children of our Empire to greatness," Light said, his eyes filled with his vision for the future.

"Do as you see fit, our old bones are still strong and sturdy," Anaske said, and the room immediately filled with laughter.
