Chapter 101: Ch 101 : Insect God
Somewhere else, In another multiverse, a large insect of human size, with six legs and two large antennae, said, "Insect God, a hero has been born. He possesses the talent to break the barrier of the multiverse and increase our territory to other multiverses."
"Finally," a mighty and deep voice, with the might of a God, sounded in the surrounding. "I can achieve something that no previous God has ever achieved."
"Insect God, but what about the Demon Lords and their lackeys?" the other insect, which had the aura of a demigod, said with a slight hesitation.
"Yes, I also need to think of them while expanding. Too much of our force can’t be scattered, otherwise, the demon race would attack us," the Insect God said, as he sighed.
It turned out they were using a weakness of the demon race, and this weakness turned out to be the strength of the insect race.
Just like how a God consumes faith while descending or intervening with the life forms, similarly a demon lord or demon God will consume their powers when they intervene.
Thus, they need to intervene in such a manner that it doesn’t negatively affect them, like how the demon of corrosion did.
First, he didn’t intervene much with any life forms in Solara (not that it had any), and even used his law of corrosion to corrode Solara, which in turn increased his power though by a minuscule amount.
And this weakness was exploited by the insect race.
Using their higher breeding rate, they multiplied swiftly and covered the entire multiverse.
Due to their high numbers, the demon gods needed to consume a lot of their power to intervene and attack them.
And due to the insect race being spread across the whole multiverse, it was very difficult to eradicate them.
Thus, the demon race gave up on the insect race for the time being.
And if the insect race began to expand, they would be dividing their population, which would make them a much easier target for the demons.
This problem haunted the Insect God. He wanted to expand, but the demons wouldn’t let him.
"Sigh, just send a small force at first to test the water," the Insect God said, and then added, "we haven’t seen that feind Magar for quite a while now, what if he is already dead?" He knew this was a wishful thinking, but it didn’t cost him anything, so why fret.
[A/N : Magar is a Demon God not lord, but below lord and above DemiGod]
Back in Sunny’s heaven realm:
Sunny recounted the story of his recent brush with death, telling Adam about how he had rescued thirty-four gods and their planets from the path of two demon lords.
He ended the tale with the immense pressure he had felt, a suffocating force that had made him retreat in a panic.
"You are lucky you survived that," Adam said, his voice a grim whisper. "With your current strength, not to mention fighting, even surviving for a second would be impossible." Adam then closed his eyes, his ethereal form flickering as he tried to sense the aura of the demon lords Sunny had encountered.
His anger flared by another degree. "The Demon Lord of Curses," he said, as he looked at the corrupted part of his soul.
In this moment, the curse hurted him even more than it usually did.
Sunny, understanding the memories and pain from this old god, sighed and said, as he tried to change the conversation, "And who is the second demon lord?"
"It’s the Demon Lord of Corrosion, a corrosive slime demon which is as hard to kill as a cockroach," Adam said, a hint of bitterness in his voice.
He remembered the days when many of the Gods hunted the clones of this demon lord, but it’s real body always remained out of their reach.
"He is as hard to kill as he is annoying." He then talked about the different demon lords and demon gods, their powers, and their weaknesses.
"Adam, i always wanted to know, why is that You billions of Gods died by just seven demon lords, even after knowing so many of their weaknesses" Sunny asked curiously.
Adam looked at Sunny for a while then shook his head and said,"actually they were pretty weak when they first faught, but as I have told you earlier they always return even after death"
"Thus after billions of years of fighting, we made an oath that we Gods and those demons will keep on ruling there realms and don’t interfere with each others realm"
"In the end they broke this oath by letting our lifeforms a touch of their power, slowly Discord, hunger for power, Fear, Lies, Corrosion, Curses and Despair began to take there roots in the lifeforms, and this was the starting point and main reason of our lose" Adam said, he felt both the frustration and embarrassment of the lose against the demons, but a lose was a lose.
"You shouldn’t delve on the past that much, if i sense something similar, I will notify you" Adam said, as he slipped the red wine.
Sunny nodded and then looked toward his faith points, it had decreased by another five billion points.
Why? Because every time Sunny left his God space and interacted with life forms, it would consume faith.
And currently, he was in the heaven realm, which was not in his God space, so the cost was even more. Even entering the subspace would cost a hefty sum.
But why was the cost so low compared to Veridia?
Descending on Veridia would cost him one billion faith per second, and that was still at the time when Xar’gath invaded Veridia.
Currently, the life forms were even stronger, so the faith would be consumed at an even faster speed.
But in the heaven realm, only souls were present, which were weak compared to the combination of soul and body, thus the faith consumption was not so high.
Looking at Sunny’s face, Adam chuckled and said, "I didn’t expect your faith reserves to be so grand. You were able to descend into this realm for an entire hour, a feat that would have taken most new gods a month or even more. You are truly a top god among the new gods."
"I don’t have much faith left, so I will come to the main point of my visit," Sunny said, immediately his previous joking and easygoing demeanor vanished, and an unending seriousness enveloped his mind.
"Ask whatever is on your mind," Adam said, with a face that showed his confidence in his knowledge of billions of years.
"Why are there no Gods with SSS-Grade talent?" Sunny asked, his mind etching to find the truth.
"SSS-Grade? You all are descendants of my life forms, so technically you all are also my life forms, my creations," Adam said, his mind went back to the time when he first created a life.
"What’s the point of thinking this now, you fool?" He thought and then looked at the curious face of Sunny.
He smiled and said, "And as I have already told you, a life form can’t possess an SSS-Grade talent."
