Chapter 104: For the Prosperity of Elyndra

Chapter 104: For the Prosperity of Elyndra

Before I knew it the night had finally passed, the sun was finally rising once again. To think I sat out here for the last few hours of the night with Alarion.

It was kind of peaceful to just take in the night sky before everything that’s to come today.

"I’m sure today will be quite interesting. A meeting with all the families after all these years, I am shocked." Alarion says with a bit of a surprised tone.

"At least it shows that they give a damn about Elyndra, that has to count for something." I reply while standing up from the bench.

He stands up a moment after I did and begins to walk past me. "It is definitely a big deal. I’ll come get you when they send for us." Alarion says before heading up the stairs.

A meeting for the prosperity of Elyndra, I guess that will be something interesting to be a part of today. I’m not sure about what to expect when I go to this meeting.

Silly Rokuro. You already know exactly what to expect at the meeting. It is about stopping the potential war at hand.

It is so nice to hear your voice again Rika... I really did miss having you in my head, it felt so empty. Though it was kind of weird.

What do you mean?

There was a voice a lot like mine but it seemed to be a bit darker than how I talked. It felt as if there was a another version of me in my head.

One that was willing to kill anyone, even if they weren’t the targets at hand.

You know that voice was the one you heard before me. It has always been there, just I usually take over instead. You have nothing to worry about with me around though.

That’s a relief. You’re right though, I guess I do already know what to expect. The only problem I was thinking about... Was the third family that I haven’t met once yet.

They have been one of the more mysterious ones but maybe it was a good thing that I didn’t have to meet them by myself.

Having all the families together will make it a bit easier to get through the interactions since I don’t want to be in an awkward position.

A few hours passed after I got done with my conversation with Rika. Eventually Alarion came to get me since it was finally time to start this meeting.

I followed him and Sylas out of the manor towards a strange town hall like building with all the family crests posted on the front of the building. To think that they had something like this just in the city for their families alone was insane.

"Just stick with us, I don’t really know what they’ll be like. It has been awhile." Alarion advises with a bit of caution.

"Understood." I respond, taking what he said seriously.

I found myself in a nice open room with a big meeting table taking up the room, chairs all around the table. It seems that the Selvaris family was already here.

Selene was already staring at me from the moment I entered the room, her lustful eyes not leaving me. Raizen didn’t seem to care much for my arrival so there wasn’t anything special to that.

There was a third person sitting with them but he didn’t seem to have his hair or even his face showing. It was completely covered by a silver and gold wolf mask with a hood draping over his head.

His glowing purple eyes were all I could see through the mask and he honestly gave the feeling of an assassin.

But at the very end of the table was a bulky man wearing a nice black suit, red tie, and even seems to be looking my direction. He had yellow eyes, a scruffy brown beard, and long brown hair.

There also appeared to be three girls sitting around him.

"Dorian Dravelyn. He is the head of the Family there. It seems his daughters have chosen to accompany him as well." Alarion whispers to me as we sit down.

The daughters were quite pretty but I didn’t really look over there much since I don’t want to get anymore attention. I’ll check them out more another time.

"I appreciate you letting me know who that is. I’m kind of out of the loop with them." I respond back with a quiet tone.

"Don’t worry about it. I’ll handle everything here." Alarion assures me with confidence.

It felt kind of nerve wracking for the first time in awhile... That feeling I used to get from big groups of people was starting to come back again.

I thought that maybe it was finally gone after awakening my power but for some reason I can feel it starting to bother me again.

Rokuro everything is fine. There really isn’t a lot of people here, you are used to this by now.

I’m lucky to have you back... Seriously it makes a difference after all this time. I’ll try not to think about it all too much.

Selene stands up from her chair in front of me. "It seems that everyone is here so should we get started?" She asks with a small smirk on her face.

Everyone seems to be in agreement to starting the meeting, it was going to be a boring day.

The first two hours passed with Selene explaining why a war would be dumb to wage against anyone right now. Stating that we need to gather as many strong hunters as possible to keep people safe.

I knew that in reality it was because she didn’t want to make an enemy of me but she wasn’t going to say that.

Alarion also helped push for the war to be prevented at all costs as well which caught me off guard.

Originally he didn’t really seem to care if blood was spilled but suddenly that started to change. Even back in the courtyard he mentioned it.

"I didn’t really care for the war anyway. We are better off conserving our resources and keeping the people safe." Dorian speaks up with a deep, coarse voice.

"Then it seems we don’t need to waste anymore time. Hehe." Selene responds with a slight chuckle.

"Tch. I was expecting someone to have an issue." Sylas says quietly while leaning back in the chair next to me.

"I’d say it worked out pretty well." I reply with a bit of relief in my voice.

Guess that means I’ll be able to focus on training with Alarion after this. But it was hard not to notice Dorian keeping an eye on me the whole time.

He didn’t even utter a word about me or ask why I’m here. It was definitely strange for an outsider like me to be here but I was required to be here.

At least that’s what Alarion implied, same with Selene.

"Well, we are done here then." Dorian says as he stands up from his chair.

Like that, the worry of war was finally gone. At least for now.
