Chapter 110: The Ride Home

Chapter 110: The Ride Home

The Ride back down to the city of Nyxhaven wasn’t too bad since we got to enjoy the nice view from the sky until then. That was something that was quite nice about getting to ride in a sky ship.

"Did you end up preventing the war?" Malrik asks while interrupting the silence.

"Yeah, it actually went well." I respond with a laid back tone to my voice.

"Hahaha. That’s great. Where are you guys from?" Malrik asks after laughing.

"There’s a junkyard near Ashvalis that we stay at, why?" I respond with a bit of a cautious tone in my voice.

I felt the ship suddenly starting to turn a bit more to the left as I realized he was starting to take us towards Ashvalis.

"I’ll drop you off there as a reward for stopping the war. Lucien advised me to give you guys the ride if you succeeded." Malrik answers with a friendly tone.

So that’s why he wanted to know where we are from, that makes a lot more sense. I’ll happily accept a full ride back home since it beats walking by a long shot.

I’d rather not walk all the way from Nyxhaven to the junkyard...

Those walks are good for your health. It keeps you in good shape.

I think I’ve been getting plenty of exercise with all the fighting, training, and even the walking I’ve already done. I don’t think I’ll be out of shape any time in the near future.

Unless the world suddenly decides I’m not needed anymore out of nowhere.

Very slim chance of that happening when you haven’t defeated the star.

Yes. That damn star really is a pain in the ass and I don’t look forward to fighting it whatsoever. I have a gut feeling that it is going to be a lot stronger than I expected it to be.

Well, I know it’ll be strong as hell but I figured it might be just a little bit higher in rank than me. Like SSSS kind of higher than me or something.

Think about how strong Akina is but multiply that by 10x the power she already possesses.

Maybe it would be best to see if Akina could help out with that. She is strong so it could be possible to get even more powerful with her help.

Or she could have some sort of insight on the being, something that I didn’t really ask her about. At least I don’t remember asking her anything about the mysterious star.

"We should be arriving at your home in about an hour." Malrik says loud enough for us to hear.

The rest of the ride went by pretty quickly, mostly taking in the view of Ashvalis from above before finally reaching the junkyard. Luckily it had plenty of room for a sky ship to land since it didn’t really have much blocking the path.

Most of the junk piles were swept into various parts of the junkyard since I did a lot of digging over the years.

As the ship begins to land I can just barely see Akina staring at us from the window of the shop. I wonder how much of the journey she actually saw or if everything needs to be told to her about it.

"I’m sure we will meet again. Take care of those girls Rokuro." Malrik says with a bit of jealousy in his voice.

"I plan to. See you later Malrik." I reply while getting off of the ship.

It was definitely nice to finally be back home again since we kind of left pretty quick after getting back previously. I’m sure I’ll have a lot to fill the others in on but I need to figure out the next step.

Finding out some information about the star would be the best idea... Just I don’t have a good way to gather the information. Akina might not even know a damn thing about it or at least not anything useful.

Regardless I walked back over to the shop with everyone, it was time to introduce Aria to the others. She’s going to be quite the addition to the group we have.

I opened up the door to the sight of them all sitting on a nice couch across the room. "He returns, with another girl as well!" Mari shouts with a bit of excitement.

It seems she is back to being her usual self which is good. I’m curious about what I missed here as well since she seemed all gloomy and what not before we left.

"This is Aria. She’ll be helping us out on our journey as well!" Lilly speaks up with a bit of happiness in her voice.

"Wow. I didn’t think you’d be happy about that Lilly." Akina says with a bit of a surprised tone.

It even caught me off guard a bit since Lilly has been pretty weird about people joining us lately. But I do remember that they had a bit more time to get used to each other up in Elyndra.

That’s probably why Lilly is like this instead of having her annoyed attitude that usually shows with people.

"Welcome Aria. I’m Akina, that’s Mari and Velia." Akina introduces herself before gesturing to each of them afterwards.

"Nice to meet you all." Aria responds with a nice, elegant bow.

I didn’t think they needed to be given a bow but I guess it is just something they naturally do. Well, her family that is.

"It seems we can all take turns catching each other up now." Aria speaks with a bit of a grin across her face.

"Yeah, that probably would be a good idea for us to do." I reply while closing the door behind us.

Catching everyone up on what happened is going to take a little bit since a lot happened up there. I’m also pretty positive that some stuff happened while we were away as well.

This will definitely be interesting.

Agreed. Afterwards I’ll take the opportunity to ask Akina about the star a bit more.
