Chapter 109: Goodbye Elyndra

Chapter 109: Goodbye Elyndra

Everyone said their goodbyes to Alarion and Sylas since we don’t know when we’ll see them again. Definitely not for a good while.

It was finally time to make our way back to the airship that took us up here in the first place. Malrik was probably waiting for us to come back or maybe he left and then came back?

Either way it wasn’t a far walk back to the airship, it was just weird to have someone new with us.

People all around the city were also staring at us as we made our way there with Aria by our side. They probably didn’t understand why a Variseth was leaving with us or thought something bad was going to happen.

"You aren’t worried about the opinion of the people?" I ask while looking towards Aria.

"Nope. They will be fine. The families will probably give them an announcement about everything soon." Aria responds with a relaxed tone in her voice.

"At least that’s something. It’s also not too late to change your mind." I say while putting my hands behind my head, feeling a bit more relaxed than usual.

"I’m perfectly fine with my current decision." Aria replies without wasting a second.

It was like she already had that answer ready to go, not that I have any complaints about her joining us for the journey. The amount of girls in this adventure is quite a lot...

I’ll definitely stick to my current method of just bringing a couple of them at a time for specific skills. Or would it better to say that I don’t want to be completely overwhelmed by women?

I just don’t know if I can leave behind Ghost or Lilly after everything we dealt with up here. Then again I kind of did that without thinking since I needed to do a lot of talking and even some fighting.

Ahhh. I scratch my head while we finally make it to the docks where Malrik is standing there by the side of the ship.

"Oh you are finally back. You’ve also brought a new friend, how nice. Board the ship so I can take you all back." Malrik says with a shocked tone in his voice as he gestures for us to board.

"Nice to see you too." Lilly speaks up with a bit of an irritated tone.

We boarded the ship once again, this time accompanied by our newest companion Aria. It was nice to be leaving the floating city after all the time we spent up here but the sky city doesn’t suit me.

I sat on one of the benches between Aria and Ghost, Lilly was probably going to be upset by that but it didn’t matter right now. They all get to enjoy sharing a bed with me anyway.

Must be nice to share a bed with so many beautiful girls. Though, that perverted mind of yours tends to get the best of you.

Again, it’s completely understandable! I haven’t experienced anything like this until my power awakened. Do all people have experiences like this?!?!

No. Most don’t have a bunch of women at their sides like you do. At least not by choice, so consider yourself one of the lucky ones.

It might change when they realize you are a pervert.

Lilly caught me staring and didn’t change her mind about me so I don’t think it’ll ever get to that point. Plus it is a completely normal reaction for a man to check out a woman.

I’ve been pretty damn good at controlling my lustful side so I’d say that I deserve a reward every now and again.

A reward for not being a pervert? That’s definitely something a pervert would suggest.

Ahhhh. There’s no winning with you on this, is there?

I’m the one who has to deal with this all the time, just saying. I’d be okay if you looked at me that way I guess but that doesn’t mean you can get any weird ideas from it.

This is why I’m always confused with you about this whole thing. I never know if I’m actually wrong for it or if you think it is okay for me to do.

Especially when you say things like that out of nowhere, it always confuses me.

Tap. Tap. I shift my attention towards the poking on my arm, it was Aria trying to get my attention. "Hey, what’s up?" I question with a bit of confusion.

"Is there anything I should be worried about below?" She responds with a bit of anxiousness in her voice.

"I don’t think there is a reason to worry. We’ll all be together down there so it will be just fine." I reassure her with calmness in my voice.

There really wasn’t much to worry about down there at the moment since we have quite the strong group. There is also a lot of strong hunters around the cities below too.

But nothing big has happened recently for us to be concerned about anything below. It has been relatively calm for some reason...

Something is definitely brewing in the shadows, I just haven’t exactly figured out what it is just yet. People are also going to be questioning me more and more as time goes on.

I’ve just been going into dangerous situations with a pretty low rank so it might be time to get that sorted out.

I guess you could have them assess your strength at one of the guilds but usually people aren’t lucky enough to get a promotion based on that alone.

Oh, you know about that?

Guilds are the same in most worlds when it comes to rankings. Some will just give quests for rank determinations only, while others might allow for someone to be tested physically.

I guess that makes a lot of sense. It would make it easier to get around without the possibility of people doubting me or giving me an issue.

Regardless I’ll have enemies so it doesn’t really matter at the end of the day I suppose.

"She’ll just have to meet the others." Lilly mutters.

"I think she’ll fit in quite well with everyone." Ghost says cheerfully.

Huh. I wonder how the tower goddess will feel about this.
