Chapter 113: Aetherion
Finally we made it back to the guild hall, heading inside without wasting any time. It wasn’t as lively as it was the last time we came here.
People didn’t seem to really bat an eye towards us like the other times we would arrive. It was actually kind of odd to have the attention off of us for once in awhile.
But looking ahead I could see someone different standing behind the counter, it wasn’t Lukas this time. Always a hot woman that happens be handling the guild affairs.
Rokuro the perv has arrived once again.
Just because I happen to be checking out the hot woman behind the counter doesn’t mean that I’m a pervert. I feel like it is pretty normal for anybody to do.
It also just surprised me since usually Lukas has been the one behind the counter the last few times we came here.
"Can I help you?" The Woman asks with a soft tone.
"I just wanted to share some information with the guild, something important." I answer with more of a serious tone.
"What exactly do you have to share?" She questions with a bit of confusion in her voice.
"Monsters are undergoing an evolutionary phase. They are going to be a bit tougher to deal with, I witnessed it firsthand." I answer without skipping a beat.
"He isn’t joking. We are just here to share that warning with the guild." Akina chimes in, helping push the importance of the situation.
The woman immediately walked back towards a set of stairs and disappeared for a few moments. Probably going to tell whoever runs Aetherion about the potential problem at hand.
At least that’s what I’d assume with her just going back there without saying a single word back to us.
She’s taking a gamble since you didn’t exactly bring any evidence of the evolution but you’ve got a bit of a reputation by now. At least one could assume that much by now.
I’ve been pretty damn helpful with everything lately so I have no reason to lie about monsters evolving. But this would be the first time that I’m meeting the guild master if they decide to come down.
It kind of feels like they are rare to speak with for the most part, besides that Lucien guy of course. I felt like I was bound to speak with him since there was a lot going on.
He was quite the character to meet, nothing like I expected from a place like Nyxhaven.
Eventually I could hear two sets of footsteps starting to return towards us. The woman had come back but this time she was accompanied by Lukas.
Don’t tell me that he is the guild master here, that wouldn’t make any sense to me. There’s a lot that doesn’t make any sense to me but maybe he is a messenger?
That is also quite the possibility for him to be taking the message for the guild master here.
"Ohh it’s Rokuro. Come to beg for my help or something?" Lukas asks with a smug look across his face.
"No. I was coming to give a warning to the guild since monsters are going through some sort of evolution. It wouldn’t feel right if I kept that information to myself." I respond with a bit of an irritated tone.
"Hmm. I do trust you, at least you haven’t given me a reason not to. I’ll relay everything to the guild master." Lukas said before walking away.
With that we went back to a table to sit for a little while since didn’t really plan anything else yet. We still needed to figure out where to go next since this was the only reason for us to come here.
Relaying information to the guild, then departing for yet another part of our journey.
"That’s odd." Akina mutters to herself.
Getting stronger will always be the goal Rokuro.
Yes, it is quite important for me to get stronger so I can keep everyone safe no matter what. I also need to be strong enough to stand against the first Monarch of Chaos.
Otherwise I’ll let a lot of people down and I’m not really trying to do that. The goal is to save everyone from this shit hole of a world that we live in now.
The world isn’t that bad, just some parts of it are kind of messy right now. I do think it is a good idea to get rid of the monsters though.
Getting rid of them means defeating the monarch first since that thing is responsible for them. I don’t really know any other way to get rid of them so that will be the first thing for me to try.
I doubt Akina is capable of using her power to get rid of the monsters or else it could’ve been done already.
Akina is capable of many things, we just don’t know what it is that is capable of yet. She’s only shown us so much since joining the group.
Yeah, there is definitely a lot to learn about her still. Having her in our group is already enough for me but it doesn’t mean I’m not curious about her power.
The talks of her granting wishes to people is something that often repeats itself in my head. Couldn’t I just ask her to give me even more power?
I doubt she would, but that’s not the point. The point is that I constantly do wonder about her wishes that she can give or maybe she can’t now.
Don’t overthink it so much, just focus on the important stuff.
"In your head again. I wonder if it ever causes any problems in your fights." Akina says, catching me off guard.
"It doesn’t usually interfere with anything, usually you seem to be the one who notices most." I respond with a bit of nervousness in my voice.
"I just tend to pay attention to those who interest me." Akina says with a smirk on her face.
