Chapter 90: The Youngest Variseth (2)

At least it was clear how I’d be spending my time for the next few days. Exploring the manor with Aria and learning what I can from her family.

I hope this will be a very informative still since that was the whole purpose of us talking to them in the first place. It doesn’t seem like a war is happening as of right now but that thought still lingers in my head.

"I’ll let you get some rest. We’ll get to talk more tomorrow anyway." Aria says before exiting the room in a hurry.

She closes the door behind her and it was now just the three of us once again.

"Sigh... You’re going to bring her in aren’t you?" Lilly asks after letting out an annoyed sigh. Clearly she wasn’t too happy with Aria.

"She could be quite useful to us, especially if we end up fighting against some powerful enemies." I answer before laying back on the bed.

I’m honestly exhausted from the fight, it took a lot out of me that I wasn’t ready for. This is the best opportunity to relax a bit before seeing what’s in store tomorrow.

"I guess that makes sense. We are quite strong too you know, don’t forget about me and Ghost." Lilly says softly before joining me in the bed.

Shortly after Ghost also joins me in the bed as we all fall asleep together for the night. Quite the dream already, having two girls laying with me in bed.

Not a reality I ever thought I’d see in my life but still something is missing from this whole thing.

Family. You don’t really have anyone besides them now so it makes sense that family is the one thing missing from your life now.

It is the one piece missing from the puzzle and I honestly don’t know if it is better off that way or not. This world has torn people apart in so many different ways that I don’t think it’d be great for anyone to witness this hell.

Of course that’s exactly why I want to eradicate monsters from our world so that people can live again.

I’m sure fights amongst one another will still occur but at least that’s a lot more normal compared to monsters tearing people apart. Minami didn’t deserve a damn thing that happened to her so I’ll stick to everything I set out to accomplish.

Cleansing this world of these monsters and keeping people from killing for no reason.

No one needs to be looked down on because they lack a talent or power, instead they should be protected by those who possess it.

You know a perfect world like that might not ever exist Rokuro.

I don’t give a damn if it takes a long time to make it exist, everyone deserves a chance to live.

With that final thought I found myself waking up to the beautiful sight of the morning sunlight brightening the room. Ghost and Lilly were still asleep so it felt like it would be a good chance for me to see what awaits.

After getting out of bed I noticed an all white outfit laying on a dresser with a card ’Rokuro’ on top of it. Seems that I need to change since I’m going to be walking around their manor.

As I took off my coat and then my shirt, I could see the scars from all the times I got sliced by swords and even some claws. It was definitely interesting to see this all for the first time.

I haven’t really taken my clothes off to see any of the scars from my battles so this was quite a sight to see.

Regardless I put on the white tailored coat that was accompanied by a dress shirt and dress pants. It felt strange to be dressed so nicely but whatever.

The door slightly creeks open and it wasn’t hard for me to hear so I shifted my attention towards it to see Aria standing there. "Let’s go for a walk." She says quietly while waving for me to come over to her.

There was no reason for me not to follow her for now since she was my best shot at getting something figured out. I follow her out into the hall and begin to walk with her.

"The outfit suits you quite nicely. Obviously it isn’t your normal attire so it must feel weird." Aria speaks bluntly with a bit of a carefree tone mixed in.

At least she said I look nice but she was definitely right about it feeling weird. I’d never wear something like this if I could avoid it, especially when I’m not the elegant type.

"It is a little odd, but I don’t mind it for now." I respond with a laid-back tone.

There wasn’t any reason for me to be serious about anything right now, just focus on taking everything in around me. Aria is still quite the mystery so I’ll also need to learn about her as we walk together.

"So... Do they really only keep things from you because you are the youngest?" I question with a bit of curiosity lingering in my voice.

The hall came finally seems to be coming to an end as it reaches a staircase that goes down into a nice courtyard with a variety of flowers.

"Our family has always been this way so it’s kind of normal. Sylas didn’t know much for awhile as well. I’ll be 19 soon so they might start giving me some more information about our family." Aria answers as we begin to walk down the stairs. She seems kind of off now.

Was it sadness? I couldn’t entirely tell just yet but this family is quite interesting. She’s also around my age which is a relief.

Why’s it a relief? Were you perhaps... Thinking about her in a perverted way?

I haven’t even looked at her like that just yet so no I was not.

"Yet". Notice how you said that?

Damnit Rika I’m getting better with controlling those thoughts, okay? Cut me a little bit of slack please.
