Chapter 84: The First Family(3)
The woman he refers to as Ellie also seems to be entering the room once again so I guess she finished preparing the room. "Will there be anything else going on or should I show them to the room?" Ellie asks with a curious tone.
It is still pretty early outside so I don’t think there’s any reason for us to be seeing the room just yet. Unless they do things a bit differently here, I wouldn’t really know in all honesty.
They might need some time to prepare stuff for the day.
"It would probably be smart since we have to get a few tests ready." Alarion answers with a bit of excitement.
"Tests?" I ask out loud without thinking.
They all look over at me almost immediately without any hesitation. "Personally I’d say that Sylas is the best person to test your strength. It is always worth seeing the power our guests have. It’ll show us if the time we’re giving us worth it or not." Alarion answers while keeping his positive tone.
I don’t think that’s the only reason they want to test out the strength we have... I’d say it’s because it’ll determine if they want to keep us around or not.
Ghost and Lilly won’t have to worry about anything though, I’ll find a way to get us out of here if something happens.
You think you can handle two people of SS caliber right now?
I don’t entirely know just yet, mostly because we haven’t had a fight against one another to see what I’m dealing with. But you did say you could sense the strength of the one who entered the room. Sylas.
Sylas is definitely strong and is most certainly the SS class that was mentioned back in the guild hall. Even if his name wasn’t said.
Alarion is the only one I might be a bit concerned with since you haven’t really given much thought to him. But with Sylas I just can’t underestimate him.
My power has the potential of SSS so I just need to push myself to reach it a bit faster. I don’t currently know where I stand with the power I can use at the moment.
Based on the current fights you’ve had since awakening I’d say you’ve gotten up to middle S Class at the very most. You’ve still got a bit of ways to go.
And here I thought I’d already reached SSS but there is still quite a bit for me to achieve it seems. I’m going to assume it depends on how much better I get with my control over the power I use.
On top of pushing past the limits that are still set in place.
"I look forward to our test of Strength Rokuro." Sylas speaks up with a respectful tone.
"Will Ghost and Lilly also have to go through these same tests?" I ask with a bit of caution in my voice.
The brothers look towards one another before looking back at me. "No, you seem to be the one leading this group so you’ll be plenty." Alarion answers before Sylas can.
At least that’s a bit of a reliever since I didn’t want them to have to fight against people of this caliber either. Eventually I’ll also need to see where they fall on the ranking scale as well.
Ghost not having any talents or power like I previously did will probably put her pretty low to begin with. But... She did kill quite a few monsters back in Ashvalis during that attack.
So maybe there is some hope for her to be a decent rank after all. Lilly is probably between high B or A
ranks based on the combat I’ve seen so far.I’m also not able to fully provide an accurate rank without seeing them in battle against similar enemies as me and Velia dealt with. Then again, the rankings of floors in the tower seem to be a lot different in some ways compared to our world.
"Ellie show them to their room." Alarion instructs her kindly.
"Yes, Master Alarion." Ellie responds before gesturing for us to follow her.
I stood up before Ghost and Lilly, making sure to take the lead so they knew it would be safe for now. We followed Ellie up the staircase to the second floor where some paintings of the family were hung along the walls.
"Down the hall here." Ellie says softly.
We finally made it to the room where she opens the door for us. Inside was a nice master bedroom with a big enough bed for the three of us.
Seems we would be sharing it yet again which wasn’t a big deal the last time. The room was definitely nice, lots of beautiful cuts and even some bookshelves were around.
"Relax in here for a little while until Master Alarion comes to get you." Ellie instructs before closing the door behind us.
I know that everything is happening pretty fast so it’s hard to take it all in so quickly but I didn’t ignore anything. Those paintings were definitely made by quite a talented artist and it even told me that they also have a sister.
One that we definitely have not met just yet, I can only wonder where she might be.
I took a seat on the bed next to Ghost and Lilly, both of them seem to be relatively calm for the most part. "Are you sure we should still give them a chance?" Ghost asks quietly with a bit of worry in her voice.
"I believe it is better to at least try for the time being." I respond with a bit of optimism in my voice.
"Yes, let’s deal with the stuck-up fake asshole family that is probably waiting for the right opportunity to kill us." Lilly chimes in sarcastically.
I pat her on the head. "Everything will work out fine, just let me handle it." I assure her with a bit of confidence.
There’s no telling what will happen with this test of strength, but I’m willing to give it my all for now.
