Chapter 124 The Reversal

"Your Highness Týr."

Silvanus's tone was obscure, "After all that talk, you still haven't told me who will make a move against me?"

"Do you truly not know?"

Týr did not answer directly, her gaze probing Silvanus, "Or perhaps... you have the same plan as that Highness?"

The expression on the Father of Oaks froze, only to return to normal the next moment.

"The Highness who betrayed your trust has considerable influence, but if the other party makes the first move, your counterattack will have ample justification."

The curve of Týr's lips grew higher, "After all, it's self-defense. Even the God of Justice, Tyr, would acknowledge the righteousness of your vengeance. What more can the other Highnesses say?"

"What do you want?"

Silvanus no longer pretended, laying his cards on the table, "Even if you tell that Highness all of this, the entire operation won't stop!"

"I have no intention of profiting from this."

Týr's smile faded as she said seriously, "Corellon has long laid a trap for them. My dear friend, surely there's still room at this meticulously prepared feast?"

The two deities exchanged a knowing glance, tacitly agreeing to drop the subject.

The moment Týr saw Corellon shed his disguise, she understood. The old schemer's plan was an open gambit! As long as that Highness remained unmoved, there would be no grounds for a counterattack; but if that Highness wavered, the old schemer would not let the opportunity pass.

The other members of the Anti-Ao Alliance, whether actively or passively, focused their attention on the Abyss. The Underdark and the Seven Heavens were thus ignored.

If the Abyss could bypass Ao's blockade of the Path of the Ancient Gods, there was no reason why the Underdark and the Seven Heavens couldn't! When shaping the divine position of reincarnation, Týr had clearly sensed that there wasn't a significant difference between the Abyss, the Underdark, and the Seven Heavens. Why should everyone focus their energy solely on the Abyss?

They were all vying for the same thing, wasn't this forcing the alliance members into conflict?

Although the addition of Cang Ye, the Mother of Demons, made focusing on the Abyss seem logical, as Cang Ye, the guide, could save everyone some effort.

However, Yeg's untimely probing had sown seeds of doubt in Týr's heart. Thinking carefully, this unnecessary probe had truly diverted her attention from the Seven Heavens! Under the tense atmosphere, she hadn't even bothered to ask about Suran's trip to the Seven Heavens!

If there was a faction in the Seven Heavens that had found a method of advancement, this would make sense.

And among the good-aligned deities in the Seven Heavens, only two were most likely to be favored by the shattered will of the laws! The Lord of Dawn, Lathander, and the God of Justice, Tyr!

Suran's constant claims that Lathander was unreliable, thereby rejecting the proposal to bring the Earth Mother, Chauntea, into the alliance, might actually be a cover for him!

The reason Týr believed Lathander was more likely, rather than Tyr, was not only due to Chauntea's shared progress with Lathander, but Tyr's name was also a significant factor.

Since Odin's avatar could appear, it was not impossible for Odin's son, Tyr the God of War, to appear as the God of Justice!

As the leader of the Triad of Justice, records concerning Tyr were not uncommon. He had descended to the Prime Material Plane as an avatar of an extraplanar deity. At that time, Tyr was merely a demigod. After killing a minor deity of political intrigue, he had replaced him, smoothly ascending to the position of a powerful deity.

Týr did not want to miss out on such a convenient ride.

Corellon had no objections to Týr's joining. After Týr expressed her intention to hold back Lolth, freeing up the elven deities, Týr received her share of the spoils.

The battle for the spokesperson of the Seven Heavens had not yet concluded, with the two candidates still in a stalemate.

And now, Týr's first task was to put pressure on Lathander, the Dawn Lord, forcing him to act prematurely.

On the Prime Material Plane, priests who worshipped the Goddess of Kindness felt immense joy. Lilies had actually bloomed from the cracks in the stone slabs beneath the altar! The surge of primal energy drew the attention of all deities, who discussed it amongst themselves, frequently mentioning the Spider Queen Lolth's impending ascension.

Unlike Lolth's arduous journey, Týr, by striking later, had entered the ranks of powerful deities before Lolth's ascension!

The emergence of the divine positions of education and enlightenment had transitioned the educational system from its previous uneven state to a unified one. Its impact was undeniable, and Týr's ascension to powerful deity status seemed only natural.

The simultaneous appearance of two powerful female deities was unprecedented. The gods were eager to know how these two powerful goddesses would influence the current landscape!

Týr, of the Absolute Neutral alignment, and Lolth, of the Lawful Evil alignment, had no direct conflict. However, Týr's assistance to Eilistraee and her sheltering of drow elves fleeing the Underdark would undoubtedly displease the Spider Queen. When the news of Lolth's impending ascension arrived, both Waukeen and Mystra had advised Týr to cease her aid to the dark maidens.

Yet, Týr not only did not retreat but also bestowed the divine position of the Underdark upon Eilistraee as a show of support!

The Church of Kindness had established extensive defenses at the entrance to the Underdark in the north, even gifting a piece of resource-rich, dense forest to the good drow as their own territory. Týr's actions clearly demonstrated her unwavering resolve.

The Spider Queen was furious and ordered her matrons to sacrifice the priests of the Goddess of Kindness and surface elves to the altars.

In their desperate bid for the Spider Queen's favor, the drow elves slowed their hunt for Eilistraee's followers, shifting their target to the Pope Gwendoline, who was receiving the good drow on the surface.

The animosity between the two sides grew, and Týr was likely second only to Corellon on Lolth's list of enemies.

After becoming a powerful deity, Týr went to the Seven Heavens and requested the help of her old friend, Ilmater, the God of Suffering.

The friendship between the Goddess of Kindness and the God of Suffering was well-known. Their combined efforts in slaying Loviatar, the Goddess of Torture, and Talona, the Goddess of Disease, were still fresh in the minds of the gods. It was perfectly natural for Týr to invite Ilmater to confront Lolth.

Ilmater's willingness to strike against Lolth was not surprising. What astonished the gods was that Tyr, the Lord of Justice, and Torm, the God of Loyalty, also mobilized their forces.

In an instant, all paladins on the Prime Material Plane were gathered in the North. The churches of the four deities united, and under Eilistraee's leadership, they counterattacked the Underdark, even driving Lolth's followers from the first layer to the second.

The Underdark was rich in various precious minerals, and even Waukeen was willing to get involved and do business with Eilistraee, stabilizing her wavering divine position.

The action against the Spider Queen possessed inherent justification; no one could accuse Týr of being too ruthless towards Lolth.

The situation was one-sided, and many good-aligned deities wished to partake in the spoils. The influence of the Triad of Justice was unprecedentedly strong. With Týr's intentional yielding, the role of Tyr, another powerful deity, became particularly prominent, which made Lathander restless.
