Chapter 1654: Chapter 814: Bringing the Blood-Horned Deer Back to the Alliance! (Part 2)
“We cannot let them succeed,” Luo Chen replied firmly. “Qing Shuang, you take the Blood Horned Deer and go first, I’ll hold them off.”
“No, Luo Chen, I can’t let you face them alone,” Qing Shuang resolutely opposed.
“Qing Shuang, listen to me,” Luo Chen’s voice carried an unyielding determination, “You take the Blood Horned Deer and go ahead, I’ll catch up soon.”
Luo Chen said heavily.
It’s not that he couldn’t handle those people.
The main concern was the fear that the Blood Horned Deer, which he had captured with great effort, might suffer some loss because of those people.
If that happened, it would be a huge loss this time.
…
Not far away.
In the group slowly approaching Luo Chen, a fat man suddenly shouted to their red-clad leader, “Boss, there’s a trace over here. Those two people from yesterday must have come through here.”
“It seems so, but the traces appear a bit unclear…” The red-clad man’s brows furrowed, and his gaze swept sharply around.
“Boss, we must hurry, or the Blood Horned Deer will truly get away!” The fat man urged impatiently.
The red-clad man nodded, gestured for his subordinates to quicken their pace, and also picked up his own speed.
They followed the tracks left by Luo Chen and Qing Shuang, pursuing swiftly.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang were weaving through the mountains and forests, aware that the group behind them was in hot pursuit.
Luo Chen occasionally looked back to ensure Qing Shuang and the Blood Horned Spiritual Beast were advancing safely ahead.
“Qing Shuang, you take the Blood Horned Deer and go on, I’ll cover the rear,” Luo Chen emphasized once more.
Qing Shuang bit her lip, knowing Luo Chen’s decision was to protect the Blood Horned Deer, but equally unwilling to let Luo Chen face danger alone.
“Luo Chen, we cannot separate, you will be in danger,” Qing Shuang’s voice trembled slightly.
“Trust me, I’ll be fine,” Luo Chen smiled reassuringly, though his eyes showed determination.
Qing Shuang finally nodded, recognizing Luo Chen’s decision as the right one.
She continued forward with the Blood Horned Spiritual Beast, while Luo Chen turned to face the pursuers.
The red-clad man and his followers soon spotted Luo Chen’s figure.
They quickly surrounded him, trapping him in the center.
“Kid, hand over the Blood Horned Deer, and maybe we will spare your life,” the red-clad man sneered.
Luo Chen looked at the red-clad leader before him and the people beside him.
He couldn’t help but slightly shake his head.
He thought that such a group daring to target him should have some powerful skills.
But upon closer inspection, the aura these people emitted seemed surprisingly weak.
Luo Chen assessed the situation, took a deep breath, and prepared for the impending battle.
“You want the Blood Horned Deer?” Luo Chen’s voice carried a hint of provocation, “Then let’s see if you have what it takes.”
The red-clad man’s face darkened at these words, surprised at the arrogance of this seemingly ordinary young man.
He waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to attack.
“Get him, don’t let him escape!” the red-clad man commanded.
At his command, the surrounding subordinates drew their weapons, launching an assault on Luo Chen.
Luo Chen’s figure flickered, agile as a leopard, dodging the first wave of attacks.
His sword danced like a dragon, sending flashes of cold light, each strike accurately hitting his opponents’ vulnerabilities.
“This guy is something else!” the red-clad man thought, beginning to take his opponent seriously.
As Luo Chen weaved through the crowd, his swordsmanship was fierce, each move putting immense pressure on his opponents.
Seeing this, the red-clad man decided to engage personally, drawing his weapon to join the fray.
“Let me face you, kid!” the red-clad man shouted, wielding his weapon as he attacked Luo Chen.
Seeing this, Luo Chen knew the real challenge was just beginning.
He focused his mind, channeling all his attention on the opponent before him.
Their weapons clashed in the air, producing crisp sounds. Though the red-clad man’s strength was formidable, Luo Chen’s agile movement technique and precise swordsmanship allowed him to cleverly avoid the fierce attacks.
“Where did you learn that swordsmanship?” the red-clad man couldn’t help but ask while fighting.
“That’s none of your concern,” Luo Chen coldly replied, his sword momentum increasingly fierce, pressuring the red-clad man with each attack.
Amidst their intense battle, a shout from afar echoed, “Luo Chen, hurry! It’s safe on my side!” Qing Shuang called out.
Hearing Qing Shuang’s voice, Luo Chen felt a surge of joy, knowing she had successfully escorted the Blood Horned Spiritual Beast to safety.
He decided not to delay any longer, ready to conclude the fight.
“Red-clad man, let’s end it here for today!” Luo Chen shouted, his swordsmanship suddenly becoming more rapid, each strike producing a whistling sound that forced the red-clad man to retreat repeatedly.
Seeing this, the red-clad man, realizing victory was out of reach, reluctantly glared at Luo Chen before ordering a retreat, “Withdraw!”
At the red-clad man’s command, his subordinates quickly sheathed their weapons and vanished into the forest.
Watching their retreating figures, Luo Chen let out a sigh of relief, then hurried towards Qing Shuang.
When he found Qing Shuang, she was standing beside the Blood Horned Spiritual Beast, a hint of worry on her face.
“Luo Chen, are you alright?” Seeing Luo Chen unharmed, Qing Shuang’s anxiety dissipated.
“I’m fine, Qing Shuang,” Luo Chen replied with a smile, though his eyes showed fatigue, more so determination and satisfaction.
Qing Shuang looked at Luo Chen, her eyes reflecting a trace of concern, “Are you really okay?”
Luo Chen shook his head, “Really, I’m fine, Qing Shuang. We must continue on our way, we can’t stay here too long.”
Qing Shuang nodded, knowing Luo Chen was right.
They needed to return to the Alliance swiftly to safely deliver the prized Blood Horned Spiritual Beast.
“Then let’s go,” Qing Shuang said, starting to pack their belongings.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang, taking the Blood Horned Spiritual Beast with them, continued their journey, passing through woods and crossing streams until they finally reached the borders of the Alliance by dusk.
“We finally made it,” Luo Chen said, exhaling deeply as he saw the Alliance’s banners in the distance.
Qing Shuang also smiled, “Yes, we succeeded.”
They entered the Alliance’s territory with the Blood Horned Spiritual Beast and received a warm welcome from the Alliance members.
“Luo Chen, is this the Blood Horned Deer?”
“Its size and the intensity of Spiritual Power in it are quite surprising…”
“Yes, we went through many hardships to bring them back safely,” Luo Chen replied, his eyes sparkling with pride.
“You have done well; these Blood Horned Deer are of great significance to our Alliance,” an elder stepped forward, his gaze full of appreciation.
“It was all thanks to Luo Chen; he alone held back those pursuers,” Qing Shuang added, her words filled with admiration.
Luo Chen waved his hand modestly, “It was what we had to do, for the Alliance.”
“Take some rest; I’ll arrange for people to care for these Blood Horned Deer,” the elder said, then turned to make arrangements.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang found a quiet corner to sit and rest.
They exchanged glances, showing both weariness and the relief of completing their mission.
“Luo Chen, I was really worried when you were fighting those people earlier,” Qing Shuang said softly.
“I know, but don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to myself,” Luo Chen responded with a smile.
“You’re always so confident,” Qing Shuang shook her head, but there was a smile on her lips.
“Because I know, with you around, I won’t lose,” Luo Chen said earnestly.
Qing Shuang’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she bowed her head, “You always say things like that, making me embarrassed.”
“Haha, I’m just speaking the truth,” Luo Chen laughed, then stood up, “Let’s go check on those Blood Horned Deer.”
