Poor Xi Xi
Chapter 247 Lanqi's Renowned One-on-One Tutoring
The next day.
In the winter morning, the dawn filtered through the thick mist, casting its glow on the marble brick walls of the Lord's mansion in Lilom City.
Nestled in the rear of the city, the mansion was surrounded by exquisite gardens, offering a distant view of the mountains and forests. The intricately carved family crest above the main gate reflected the light, heralding the start of a new day.
Viscount Francis led Lan Qi out of the dining room on the first floor of the mansion.
Inside, the magical furnace dispelled the winter chill.
"I hope you find our Northern Continent breakfast style to your liking."
Viscount Francis said with a smile, his voice deep and refined.
"This is the best hospitality I've received. Thank you."
Lan Qi replied.
After a pleasant breakfast together, Viscount Francis and Lan Qi walked down a long corridor within the mansion. Portraits of past viscounts hung on the walls, and a carpet imported from the Southern Continent, with its intricate patterns and colors, created a warm and serene atmosphere.
"I'm afraid I'm putting you to a lot of trouble. Whether or not you can successfully get Zestira to accept instruction, please don't feel pressured."
Viscount Francis said.
"I will do my best, Viscount."
They finally arrived at a door adorned with delicate wood carvings.
Viscount Francis knocked gently. Receiving no response, he waited a few seconds before slowly opening the door.
Before them lay an astonishing private space. Miss Zestira's room was arranged like a miniature museum, with various books, magic crystals, artworks, and antiques neatly arranged.
A large window allowed the soft winter light to stream into the room, highlighting the collection of decorations.
And the figure of a young girl stood beside a desk near the window.
"This Mr. Luo Qi is your new tutor. He comes from the Southern Continent. I imagine the culture there is different from ours."
The viscount stood at the door, hand on the doorknob, pondering.
The figure in the room merely glanced back at Viscount Francis and Lan Qi before ignoring them, returning to her magic book.
It was as if that brief glance was only to give Viscount Francis face.
"Mr. Luo Qi, please excuse her."
Viscount Francis shook his head.
"Leave it to me, Lord Francis. Thank you for your family's kindness."
Lan Qi nodded.
"...Then I'll go attend to my work."
Viscount Francis patted Lan Qi's arm and closed the door behind him.
Outside Zestira's room window, the winter sun gradually rose, signaling the start of a new journey of teaching and learning.
Holding his book, Lan Qi walked over and sat down on another chair in the room, smiling.
He kept a certain distance from Zestira, as if ensuring he wouldn't intrude on her territory.
Then, Lan Qi took out a pen and began writing in the Imperial textbook, seemingly oblivious to the idea of giving a lesson.
The figure remained seated at the long table against the wall. Two metallic, blade-like dragon horns protruded from her head, and her dark hair had a hint of cyan. The most prominent feature in her eyes was the vertical pupils, conveying a sense of ferocity and distance.
Boss Cat hid in the shadows, quietly observing. This viscount's daughter looked only fourteen or fifteen years old; no wonder she was in preparatory class.
But even at such a young age, her magical power far surpassed Lan Qi's, reaching at least the stronger end of the second tier.
It had never seen Lan Qi give a lesson before and didn't know what his teaching skills were like.
And so, Lan Qi didn't speak to her, and she ignored Lan Qi, for nearly half an hour.
Zestira didn't chase him away, nor did she stop reading, as if the new tutor was just another piece of furniture in the room.
But as time passed, Lan Qi seemed even more composed than she was.
The frequency with which Zestira, who had been almost motionless, turned the pages of her book finally changed.
She was starting to feel confused.
Although this new teacher wouldn't bother her right away, the fact that he was staying here without leaving made her uncomfortable.
"Has Miss had breakfast?"
Lan Qi finally spoke, still not looking up, focused on his writing.
"What's it to you?"
Zestira didn't even bother to look at him, not wanting to communicate at all.
Saying that was only to get him to leave as soon as possible.
After all, this guy had only received a generous reward, and he was trying to hide the hostility and sense of superiority in his heart as he unwillingly came to teach a demon.
Humans were all the same. Sometimes they harbored more disgusting malice than demons. Some would try to hide it based on status and position, while others wouldn't hide it at all.
