Chapter 356: Returning to Marvel
The next day, Dave opened his eyes and felt a soft, warm body pressed against his side. Turning his head, he saw Bibi Dong sleeping peacefully, her face calm and relaxed. Remembering her wild side from the night before, he smirked and whispered to himself, "Damn... this beauty is sure wild in bed."
He gently brushed her hair aside, then quietly got out of bed and went to wash up.
For the next few days, Dave stayed in Spirit Hall and watched the Spirit Master tournaments as well. The Shrek Academy team and Spirit Hall’s team had an intense, powerful match, but in the end, Spirit Hall came out on top. Spirit Hall’s academy had resources equal to Shrek’s and a cultivation system just as strong, so the victory wasn’t a surprise. Dave and his group didn’t attend the match in person, and Flander didn’t mind—since Spirit Hall and Shrek were now united, the result was good for both sides.
Over the next few years, the Douluo Continent enjoyed peace. Dave mostly spent his time relaxing and traveling around the land.
One day, Tang San—who had disappeared for many years—returned as the Shura God, bringing his forces to challenge both Spirit Hall and Shrek. But this time, Qian Renxue easily defeated him. Unlike in the original story, she wasn’t a self-centered, inexperienced god like Tang San. She was already a high-ranking cultivator and had advanced past the First-Level Angel God stage, becoming a Justice God—a God King-level existence—while also stepping into the next stage of the Angel God realm.
In the end, Tang San was killed. The Clear Sky Sect, who had come marching with him and acting smug, believing the Shura God’s side would win, were wiped out alongside him. With that, the Douluo Continent lost one of its major sects, and the Spirit Hall Empire became the sole ruler over the entire continent.
After that, Dave and the others simply rested and enjoyed life. Eventually, Dave left an avatar of himself behind for the girls he cared about in this world, letting that avatar live here while his true self moved on.
Marvel – Back in Unity Tower
Suddenly, the world that had been paused began moving again.
The others blinked as time resumed its normal flow. Tony stretched his arms with a grin. "Well, that was sweet. Thanks for the adventure," he said, patting Dave on the shoulder. Dave just shrugged and replied, "Though... I’m guessing you got plenty of new stories from that world."
Shuri nodded in agreement. "Mm, it wasn’t a bad trip at all. To think we could actually pull off something like that—it’s kind of wild."
The rest of the group chatted and laughed among themselves.
Dave yawned, looking around lazily. "Well, as long as you guys had fun," he said, and they all nodded.
"Good," Dave continued, "now excuse me for the next year or so. Traveling from one end of the Spirit Hall world to the other drained a lot of energy."
Without another word, he headed for his room. When he reached his bed, he collapsed onto it, lying flat on his back. The comfort of his own space made his body feel heavier, and within moments, he was already drifting toward sleep.
A few days passed with Dave continuing to laze around, until today...
A soft knock interrupted his thoughts.
"Door’s open," he called without moving.
Shuri stepped in, a datapad tucked under her arm. "Before you pass out completely—there’s something you should see."
Dave groaned but sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Please tell me it’s not another urgent ’priority mission.’"
She smirked. "Not exactly. More like... a potential headache for the future."
She tapped the pad, projecting a hologram into the air. It was a 3D model of a strange, sleek satellite—its design unlike anything Stark, Wakandan, or even alien tech they had on file.
"It showed up in low orbit yesterday," Shuri explained. "It was completely cloaked until an hour ago... then it just appeared. No signals, no broadcasts—just... watching."
Dave frowned, his drowsiness fading. "And you’re telling me this now because...?"
Shuri’s expression grew serious. "Because whoever built it used a hybrid energy signature—part cosmic, part... something that shouldn’t even exist in our universe."
Dave exhaled slowly, eyes narrowing. "Great. And here I was, hoping for a vacation."
She gave him a wry smile. "You still can. Just... maybe keep one eye open."
"Go on, I’ll join you guys in a minute," Dave said, waving her off. She nodded and left, her footsteps fading down the hall.
With a groan, Dave got up from the bed, washed his face, brushed his teeth—things he hadn’t bothered to do for the last three days—and ran a comb through his hair. He felt like he’d been in hibernation, sleeping and lounging like a bear.
After freshening up, he headed to the lounge. Everyone was already there. His gaze instantly found his girl, who crossed the room without hesitation, sat in his lap, and kissed him. He sighed contentedly, wrapping one arm around her waist and feeling the warmth of her body against his. Emma silently leaned against him, letting Diana have his attention for the moment.
"Now that he’s here... let’s get to this," Tony said, bringing up a holographic screen. "We’ve got a big problem."
He swiped the display, and the entire room fell silent. Floating above the table was the projection of a massive, jet-black ship—its hull marked with strange alien symbols and easily the size of a small city.
"I think we can easily call this a transport ship," Tony explained, "but we have no idea who the visitors are."
Dave, however, racked his brain, but no such event from Marvel came to mind. Is it from the comics? he wondered, before deciding to let it go.
He leaned back, eyes narrowing as he stared at the looming black vessel on the screen. Its surface was smooth and almost featureless, except for faint shifting lines that seemed to pulse with an inner glow.
Natasha crossed her arms. "Whatever it is, it’s not sending any identification signal."
Bruce adjusted his glasses, peering at the data. "No heat signatures, no visible weapon systems... at least none we can detect. Could be cloaked tech."
