Chapter 104 Icicle God

Jin Sha looked at Bai Ye's bewildered expression and couldn't help but ask, "You don't know the Ice God Pillar, Regice?"

Bai Ye shook his head. "No."

Jin Sha saw that Bai Ye's confusion seemed genuine and not feigned. She asked, "Then why are you here?"

"I accidentally crossed the zone boundary and ended up here. No other reason." Bai Ye lied smoothly, not intending to mention the xenomorphs and Predators. He then asked, "That Regi-something you mentioned?"

Jin Sha corrected him, "Regice."

"Ah, right. Bai Ye said, "What exactly is Regice?"

"A summoned beast!" Jin Sha didn't hide anything. So many people were here for Regice, so it didn't matter if one more person knew. She directly explained, "Not just any summoned beast, but a legendary one."

"Regice's image comes from Hebrew legends as a golem, a servant of those with worldly power. Its body is made from ice from the Ice Age and can manipulate cold air at minus two hundred degrees Celsius."

"In legend, Regice sleeps in the depths of glaciers for extended periods. About six days ago, someone spotted Regice in these glaciers, which led to rumors that Regice had awakened. Those who heard the news, especially those from the summoned beast world, were naturally excited and all came to the glaciers."

Bai Ye chuckled. "Trying to subdue Regice, I presume?"

Jin Sha also laughed. "Wouldn't that be something?"

Summoned beasts, Bai Ye wasn't very familiar with.

However, if Regice was as legendary as Jin Sha described, it would at least be a red-quality summoned beast, if not golden.

Considering the current state of the world battlefield and everyone's power levels, Bai Ye thought it was pure fantasy. Forget subduing it; they should first consider if they would be killed.

But...

Bai Ye looked at Jin Sha and said, "But I sense from your tone that not everyone is here for Regice?"

Jin Sha replied, "Regice happens to be a summoned beast that exists in my world, so I know how powerful it is. As one of the three legendary ice-type summoned beasts, how could Regice be easily subdued? However, there is still hope. After all, subduing a summoned beast doesn't necessarily depend on strength..."

"Then what?" Bai Ye couldn't help but interject. "Love and justice?"

Jin Sha rolled her eyes and then said, "Catering to its preferences, personality compatibility, and sometimes, a summoned beast might simply like you at first sight. That's called fate. Or through long-term interaction. Summoned beasts are like people; once mutual feelings develop, they can be subdued without force."

Bai Ye smiled. "I haven't studied summoned beasts much, but I know the former probabilities are extremely small, and the smarter the summoned beast, the smaller the chance. If Regice is truly a legendary summoned beast, it's even less likely. As for long-term interaction, while there are exceptions, how can you have long-term interaction with something you haven't subdued?"

Jin Sha nodded. "Yes, so I don't expect to subdue Regice."

Bai Ye asked, "Then what's your reason for being here? Are you just passing through like me?"

"Of course not!" Jin Sha exclaimed. "While I have no intention of subduing Regice, don't forget that Regice is a summoned beast from my world. I know some of its habits. When a legendary summoned beast like this appears, it's bound to attract other summoned beasts, and among them, there are sure to be powerful or rare ones."

Bai Ye put on a look of realization. "So, your target is actually those summoned beasts drawn to the glaciers because of Regice?"

Jin Sha snapped her fingers. "Exactly."

Bai Ye nodded, then looked at his cup and smiled. "Thank you for the cocoa."

"You're welcome," Jin Sha replied. "It's all just supplies from the monitoring station. I'm just doing a favor. By the way..."

Jin Sha trailed off, glancing at Bai Ye. She became more convinced that Bai Ye had stumbled here accidentally rather than seeking Regice. After all, Bai Ye was dressed too lightly, without a down jacket or padded clothes, which wasn't attire for entering glaciers.

Jin Sha pointed to a door on the side. "You might get into trouble dressed like that. There are some padded clothes hanging there; you can get some to wear."

"Okay!" Bai Ye said. "Thank you."

Bai Ye bowed in thanks and walked towards the room Jin Sha indicated, his mind racing.

Bai Ye's first thought was that he had entered the wrong zone.

It was a glacier, yes, but not the one he intended to reach.

After all, Bai Ye had been in this region in his past life...

However, he had never heard of the legendary Ice Pillar God, Regice.

After some thought, Bai Ye decided it must be an unexpected occurrence, and this was indeed the technology zone he was looking for.

The reason was simple: on the outer wall of this monitoring station, there was a logo—a large golden circle with the English letters "jw" inside. This logo was the corporate emblem of the great tycoon, Villand. J and W were the initials of Villand's full name.

Therefore, he concluded that this monitoring station was built by Villand.

If that was correct, it meant this glacier was indeed explored by Villand's scientific expedition team, and the pyramid-shaped ancient human ruins were beneath the glacier. He hadn't come to the wrong place after all.

So, what about the Ice Pillar God?

How did Regice suddenly appear?

Bai Ye mused as he opened the door and entered the room.

It was a storage room for daily necessities. Cotton-padded jackets were hanging in a large wardrobe on the side. Bai Ye casually picked one that fit him and put it on, immediately feeling much warmer.

In fact, with Bai Ye's current physical attributes, he could endure the freezing cold and snow wearing only a t-shirt. But why suffer when he could be warm?

As Bai Ye put on his jacket, he suddenly paused and looked at a shelf on the side.

On the shelf were two photo frames, containing a man and a woman, presumably a couple and members of the expedition team.

Another larger frame held a group photo of about twenty people, all key members of the expedition team. In the center, Bai Ye found a blond man over fifty. Based on his memory, Bai Ye was certain this man was Villand.

This confirmed that he had not entered the wrong zone.

"Ah!"

Just as Bai Ye was thinking...

A scream suddenly echoed.
